Product Hunt allows users to share and discover new products. Over the past few years, they have put on Makers Festivals to encourage makers to build and launch products in a short period of time. A new online festival has just been announced and it is open to people from all backgrounds from all over the world.

person on tablet

With so many people working from home, Product Hunt thought it would be a good time to host a global work from home festival that could benefit coronavirus relief efforts. Many products exist or have been created in order to make lives easier during this time. They even launched their own Product Hunt Merch shop last week focused on WHO’s COVID-19 response fund.

Now, Product Hunt wants makers to do the same. The call is out for the development of products geared towards assisting people at this time, from self-care to tools aimed towards healthcare workers on the front lines. Makers can work alone or in remote teams. Projects are not limited to a certain platform and they would like to see both no-code and code-based initiatives.

According to the rules posted on the website, products must be built within the period of the Makers Festival. Registration has started and continues through until Apr. 1 at 11 p.m. PT. All products must be submitted by Apr. 16 at 11 p.m. PT.

Voting will be open from Apr. 20 – Apr. 24. Entries will rated based on a combination of popularity within the online community and judging from the Product Hunt team. Winners will be announced on April 28.

Check the submission guidelines for more details.

What if your dishwasher could remind your kids to unload the dishes instead of you? That’s exactly the kind of magic that can happen when you use the S’moresUp app.

S’moresUp is a smart family organizer that helps you keep track of everything from appointments to allowance. The handy app has now partnered with Home Connect to roll out a brand new feature that will make your life even easier.

Working in combination with the Home Connect technology featured in Bosch’s line of smart appliances you can manage home appliances with voice control. This means you can have your appliances tell your kids when it’s time to unload the washing machine or put away the clean dishes.

When the dishwasher finishes a load it will simply assign the task to “unload the dishes” to your kids via the app and the dishwasher’s voice control feature. The new S’moresUp app feature will be compatible with appliances made by the entire BSH group appliances like Bosch, Thermador, Gaggenau and more.

“Technology advances have changed the way companies operate and people across the globe communicate. It’s time that parents benefit from emerging technology as well,” said Priya Rajendran, CEO and co-founder of S’moresUp. “We’re pleased to share that with this collaboration, technology is unlocking new ways to assist busy parents, while helping kids learn responsibility, self-reliance, and other critical life skills.”

With backyard barbecues galore, yellow mustard is a summer condiment staple––but typically it is enjoyed on top of hot dogs and hamburgers and not in your ice cream. Now you can enjoy your favorite condiment for dessert, thanks to a new French’s Mustard Ice Cream from Coolhaus.

Artisanal ice cream maker Coolhaus, known for unique flavor mash-ups like Buttered French Toast and Milkshake and Fries, is celebrating National Mustard Day by partnering with French’s Mustard to release a limited edition flavor.

“It’s been so fun to explore this classic condiment in a whole new way and create an unforgettable thoughtfully-crafted ice cream flavor with an All-American taste,” said Coolhaus CEO and founder Natasha Case in a statement.

It might be hard to look past that glaring yellow color to taste this one of a kind ice cream, but according to the company’s description the flavor is a bold, sweet-meets-savory combination. It is served up with a pretzel-topped cookie. For those willing to give it a try, it will only be available to celebrate National Mustard Day at Coolhaus’ Los Angeles location Aug. 2-4 and 9-11, and at New York locations Aug. 1-3.

These Are the Best Ice Creams to Try this Summer

I hated being pregnant. Period.

Yet somehow, throughout my pregnancy I was surrounded by people telling me how much they loved being pregnant. I always ended up walking away from these conversations trying to figure out what was wrong with me. Why did I hate being pregnant? Was I really ready to be a mom? And the question that plagued me, “Will I love motherhood if I hate being pregnant?”

Pregnancy bites. No not for all people, but for people like me it does.  I had morning sickness, then sciatica, then heartburn – not to mention the general discomfort caused by a BABY GROWING INSIDE OF ME! Now, I want to be clear, I was always thankful for the amazing opportunity to become a mom – but being appreciative and enjoying something are two different things. And quite frankly I did not enjoy being pregnant.

To those women who say they never felt sexier, good for you. I felt like a cow. To those women who say they never felt better, good for you. I felt like I had been tumbled around in a dryer after not sleeping for a month. To those women who say they loved feeling the baby move, good for you. It creeped me out and actually hurt sometimes. To those women who say they enjoyed every minute of it, good for you. But for me, it was a means to an end.

I now have a healthy, wonderful six month old daughter whom I love dearly. Yet, no combination of crazy postpartum hormones make me reflect on my pregnancy any more positively. But will I do it again? Yup, God willing. Not because I enjoyed being pregnant, but because I love being a mom. And my daughter makes the ten months of pregnancy completely worth it.

Pregnancy is tough, eating right shouldn’t be! My uncomfortable pregnancy was the inspiration behind Pregnancy Bites which offers meal plans for pregnant & nursing women.
