There’s no doubt that one character from Disney+’s new The Mandalorian has quickly become a fan fave. Baby Yoda, a.k.a. “the Child,” has skyrocketed from a series surprise to a Star Wars super-celeb—and now the oh-so-cute character has its own merch line!

Reportedly the merch line, which is set to include everything from accessories to apparel, will hit stores as soon as Friday Nov. 22, 2019.

So where can you snag baby Yoda gear? According to CNBC, the merchandise is coming to retailers across the nation, such as Target, Kohl’s, Macy’s, Hot Topic and Box Lunch along with online e-tailers such as Amazon and Zazzle.

As a Disney franchise, it’s likely the new character’s products (including toys) will also hit the Disney Store, ShopDisney and Disney Parks stores soon.

If you just can’t wait, this Baby Yoda Decal Vinyl Sticker is already available on Amazon for $6.99 or you can get in the holiday spirit and snag this O Come All Ye Forceful Baby Yoda Ugly Christmas Sweater Shirt ($27-$33).

You give it a little wave when you’re passing thru to catch a flight at Chicago O’Hare, but have you ever jumped off the exit lit up by the Fashion Outlets of Chicago to see what Rosemont is all about? It only sits about 20 miles northwest of Chicago, but Rosemont has developed into a major destination that offers a lot of the excitement you’ll find in the city in a super convenient suburb setting. Read on to hear about those outlets we teased you with, dining options the kids will be excited to explore and dates you should most definitely add to the family calendar.

photo: Kings Bowl via Maria Chambers

Where to play, play, play!
Make the fun old fashioned by lacing up your bowling shoes and hitting the lanes at Kings Dining and Entertainment. This isn’t your grandma’s dusty and dimly lit bowling alley, they have 20 ten-pin bowling lanes, over 50 HD TVs, pool tables and a pretty sweet sound system. Use their Dine Then Bowl reservation system to be moved to the top of the bowling priority list when each member of your party orders an entree or equivalent.

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s your kid! Yes, really — that’s your kid taking flight! Skip the terrifying jump from a plane to feel the rush of skydiving by planning a visit to iFly Rosemont. A 12-foot diameter wind tunnel powered by electric motors simulates freefall conditions, recreating the wind effects of actual skydiving. Slip into those flight suits and soar like an eagle!

photo: Fashion Outlets of Chicago

Where to stock the closets
Bring along the plastic for a shopathon at Fashion Outlets of Chicago. Stores like Carter’s, The Disney Store, Claire’s, Gymboree, Nike, Forever 21, Converse (and much more!) will get the kiddos excited for we’re-already-back-to-school (but still have shopping to do) shopping. Tap the concierge for stroller rentals, to get your Fashion Outlets Savings Pass with up to $800 in savings from participating stores or for help making restaurant reservations. Don’t forget to stop by Godiva to watch them make . . . and then you eat . . . their scrumptious chocolate-covered strawberries.

photo: Chicago Wolves

Where to get sporty
The Blackhawks may have sparked hockey fever in Chicagoland, but the Chicago Wolves offer an opportunity to bring your young fans to see live action at an affordable price (tickets start as low as $10) at Allstate Arena. With pregame shows filled with fireworks and laser shows, a chance to try your best slap shot in the Kids’ Zone and post-game autograph sessions, you can be sure this will be an event the whole family will remember. Regular season home games run October-April.

photo: Sugar Factory

Where to refuel
Even the sweetest tooth will be satisfied when meal time leads you to Sugar Factory. With nearly a 40-page menu, there’s no need for a separate kid’s menu, but several food options can be prepared in smaller portions if you ask. Kids will think they’re on a trip to heaven with drinks served in goblets — with and without alcohol for the parents — candy galore, milkshakes, ice cream, chocolate fondue and, oh yes, the insane milkshake that includes a chocolate covered glass and anything from a burger to a Twinkie on top.

You’ll be in Rosemont, but you’ll feel like you’re in Germany when you step into Hofbräuhaus Chicago. The sister location to the legendary original in Munich is surprisingly family friendly on weekend afternoons. Their menu is packed with kid-favorites, including mini pretzel bites (yum!), chicken tenders and burgers, as well as traditional German go-tos like potato pancakes, sauerkraut bites and schnitzel.

If you’re looking for something a bit more fancy, make a reservation at Fogo de Chão, a traditional Brazilian steakhouse. The meat . . . It. Just. Keeps. Coming. And, boy, is it amazing.  They have a mango salsa Chilean sea bass that is incredible, if you prefer seafood. Also, do yourself a favor and grab the biggest plate you can find and fill it with the spicy bacon on the salad bar. Then, go back for a second plate of bacon. Because, you can do that at Fogo. Good news about this restaurant is the experience is free for kids under the age of 6 and half price for ages 7-12.

photo: The Ashburn

Fans of flight will totally dig The Ashburn at Loews Chicago O’Hare. Borrowing inspiration from Chicago’s first airport, Ashburn Flying Field, The Ashburn celebrates the heritage and tradition of aviation in their decor, but their food includes unique twists and modern interpretations of classic American cuisine in a gastropub setting. Just one quick conversation with the Chef, Jose “Tiny” Garay, and you’ll fall in love with the cuisine and his passion for serving up quality, fresh dishes made from locally sourced products whenever possible.

photo: Loews Chicago O’Hare

Where to stay
There’s so much to do in Rosemont, why not make it a staycation? You can’t go wrong with packing an overnight bag and laying your head down at the Loews Chicago O’Hare. You are literally (and we ARE using the word literally correctly here) minutes from everything you could possibly want to do, and you get the bonus of feeling like you’re in a luxury downtown Chicago hotel, without the hassle of parking and traffic. Their signature Loews Loves Kids program is designed to make overnights fun with a complimentary activity book, a “Kids Closet” full of toys, books, car seats, strollers, nightlights and self-contained DVD players with age-appropriate DVDS, a children’s menu with healthy options, cribs, roll-away beds and child-proof kits. Pssst . . . the concierge will help with babysitting services if you want to sneak in a date night! Wait, we’re not finished, for a $120 fee you can even bring along the family pet!

photo: Hofbräuhaus Chicago via Kelly Aiglon

Dates to jot down
Sept. 13-Oct. 31 — Looking for a family-friendly place to celebrate Oktoberfest? Look no further than Hofbräuhaus Chicago.  In a grand dining hall packed with communal tables, you can get excited about a rotating array of European musicians that play oompah music on stage (brace yourself for the chicken dance). There are also kids’ parades and games, and you might even see an aplhorn, a longhorn used by Swiss mountain dwellers. Come hungry for traditional German grub.

Oct. 27 — Families are invited to Halloween Kinderfest to celebrate the spookiest time of the year with children’s costume contests, parades, live music, face painting, Halloween-themed arts and crafts stations, $5 kids meals and more.

Target and Disney announced their new collab earlier this year and now the magical moment has finally arrived. Disney Stores are now open at select Target locations across the country.

Just in time for Triple Force Friday and Frozen Fan Fest, Disney Stores are now open at 25 Target locations. The shop-within-a-shop set-ups are situated near the toy aisles and kids’ clothing departments. They feature over 450 items, including more than 100 of which have only been available at the Disney Store until now.

These Disney Shops aren’t just a place to check off your shopping list, however. They also feature music, interactive displays and a cozy seating area where families can relax, play games and watch Disney movie clips and more. Target says they also include photo ops where you can try on Mickey’s magic hat, pose with a life-size lightsaber and wear a prince or princess crown.

In honor of the grand opening, Target rolled out some brand new Frozen 2 and Star Wars toys. Several are already on the Bullseye Top 100 Toys List, like the LEGO Star Wars Resistance Y-Wing Starfighter and Disney Frozen 2 Arendelle Castle.

These can now be found among other must-have holiday items at Target stores and online. Some of the Target Disney store exclusives include Elsa’s Black Sea Dress, Sing & Swing Olaf, Anna & Elsa Baby Dolls, as well as action figures and droids from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, The Mandalorian among several others.

“We’ve brought the magic of Disney to Target, bringing together great merchandise amidst an experience that’s truly immersive and unique,” says Mark Tritton, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, Target. “Guests will be able to connect with the Disney characters and stories they love in a meaningful way, while accessing the latest and greatest Disney products, including items previously only available at Disney retail locations.”

Don’t fret if your local Target doesn’t feature one of these Disney Stores, you can still shop all the awesome merchandise online at Target.com/Disneystore and in the Target app. Customers who shop in stores or online on Oct. 5 will receive a $10 Target GiftCard with a $40 purchase of Frozen or Star Wars toys. From Oct. 6 to 12, guests spending $50 on toys at Target will save $10 and those who spend $100 will save $25.

You can check out the full list of the 25 Disney Store locations here.

These Marvel and Disney Cartoons from the ’80s and ’90s Will Be On Disney+

So your maternity leave is now up and it’s time to go back to the career you love. Let’s remind ourselves why we are in this situation. You obviously have a career because you studied something that you love and you want to continue doing it. Not to mention, help provide for your family monetarily. These are all wonderful things and you shouldn’t feel guilty about them, especially if you’ve worked hard at climbing the corporate ladder.

The best way to make your business travel experience enjoyable for you and the little ones at home is, of course, to be prepared. Here are 6 ways busy career moms can prep for their upcoming business travel.

1. Set Expectations

The expectation is super important when traveling for business, both for the parents and the child. Never spring the news of a business trip on your child last minute. Clearly explain when you are leaving, why you are leaving, and when you expect to come back. The ‘why’ is super important here. Both you and your child should understand that what you are doing for your job is important and you shouldn’t be ashamed of that. Be an example to your child that building a career is hard work and there are rewards.

2. Keep Kids Comfortable at Home While You Travel For Business

Whether the kids are staying at home or staying at Grandma’s, you want to make sure they are happy for your peace of mind. And there are some things you can do to get them excited.

  • Keep a packing list on your phone and make sure their favorite items are on there: cozy blanket, favorite pacifier or favorite stuffed animal that they can’t live without.

  • Stock the fridge with treats and goodies that you don’t normally get them like cupcakes or ice cream.

  • Leave them little notes or surprises around the house. You can leave them in toy boxes or their drawers. Nothing fancy, this could be games from the dollar store. Put a note on it to remind them you are thinking of them.

  • Do a countdown for when mommy gets home. This can be a simple chart with boxes that they cross off every day before bed.

  • Use a map to show where mommy is. This will help them to understand where you are and it will be a geography lesson!

3. Make a Detailed To-Do List

I’m a huge believer in list-making to ensure nothing falls through the cracks. I use the Paperless app to make many lists, including packing lists for each child. PRO TIP: Make a separate list for things you need to take to Grandma’s or the sitter’s house. If you are anything like my mom, she gladly keeps a ton of stuff at her house including clothes and pajamas so your regular packing list doesn’t apply, thankfully. You also want to make sure your packing list is up to date, and you stock the fridge before leaving. Finally, make sure to share your travel itinerary with your partner so that he or she knows where you are staying and when to pick you up.

4. Schedule Time to Connect with the Kids

You are going to miss those cute faces so you want to make sure you don’t miss the opportunity to see them. Most of my travel was in Europe so I knew that my lunchtime was going to be dedicated to FaceTiming with the kids.

  • FaceTime with the kids whenever possible

  • Make sure whoever is staying with the kids sends you photos and videos to light up your day!

  • Mail them a postcard

  • A really fun activity is to take one of their favorite stuffed animals with you. Take photos of the animal throughout your travels. Is their favorite animal friend visiting the Eiffel tower or sitting with you at a meeting? Either way, it gives your child a glimpse to what you are doing and connects them to something they love.

  • Schedule a fun activity for when you get back. It could be as simple as going to the ice cream shop or go big and visit a theme park. Point is, make sure you have a plan to connect with your family once you are back home. Phone free, of course.

5. Negotiate Additional Time at Home

I know this may not be possible for everyone but you’ll never know unless you ask! My company was very good about providing comp days for any weekend or holiday I was traveling. If you are lucky enough to get unlimited PTO, schedule a day or two before or after your business trip

6. Spoil Them Upon Your Return

Kids will be excited to see you when you come back but they also love when you bring something back! Don’t be afraid to use this as a teaching opportunity. Explain where you are going and what that place has to offer, such as See’s Candies from California. Let them pick what they want you to bring back. Or just bring back what they love. There was a Disney store by me in Vancouver so I picked up some princess pajamas for my daughter and a Lion Guard towel and goggles for my son.

So as you prepare to travel the world, know that traveling on your own can be very beneficial. Meeting new people is an incredible networking opportunity. I’m a strong believer that traveling can expand your mind and creativity. Use these opportunities to be empowered and inspired. You are a shining example to your children and they will see that as they get older.

Target and Disney are teaming up in a majorly magical collab, and this is a partnership you won’t want to miss.

The big red bullseye retailer recently announced the soon-to-be launch of “shop-in-shop” Disney stores at Target. The stores will open inside of 25 Target locations in October. Don’t worry if your store isn’t on the list (you can find the select retailers here), Target has plans to open Disney shops in 40 more locations by October 2020.

So what can you expect from the Disney store at Target? Look for over 450 toys, games, accessories and apparel items, ranging in price from $2-$200. The in-store shopping experiences will feature fan faves such as the Disney Princesses, Star Wars, Disney Junior, Classic Disney and special collectibles in the Disney Animators’ Collection.

Not only will the shop sell everything Disney your kiddo wants, but it will also include in-store awesomeness. Interactive displays, photo ops, music and a seating area to view movie clips will make this store in a store pure shopping magic.

Along with in-store shopping, you can also score Disney products at Target items on target.com!
