LEGO is bringing back the magic of brick building to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with a brand new float designed to inspire all mini master builders at home.

The imaginative new float design features The Brick-changer, “a magical creature of gargantuan transformative proportions. Born from the mind of a child, she is part turkey, part dragon, and all LEGO creativity.”

Making her way through “a dull monochromatic cityscape” the Brick-changer assists the kids riding aboard the float and those watching at home, to imagine a better world with endless possibilities as she infuses the monochrome bricks with color.

“We are incredibly thrilled to welcome the LEGO brand back to the Macy’s Parade family with a brand new float that figuratively breathes creativity into the building blocks of the imagination,” said Jordan Dabby, producer of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. “The new LEGO float is a conceptual marvel, marrying the creative and design talents of the artists of Macy’s Parade Studio with that of LEGO MasterBuilders to bring to life a magical creature that will inspire a new generation of Parade spectators.”

Fans at home can learn more about LEGO’s Rebuild Your World initiative the float is inspired by and discover how they can get involved at home.

The 93rd Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will air nationwide on NBC, on Thu., Nov. 28, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m.

Matt Mayers and his daughter Norah are a filmmaking duo! Every Halloween the pair team up to make their own version of a fave fright-fest flick—and the results are pure genius.

Mayers, an IRL filmmaker, and his fam have made their own versions of famous features such as A Nightmare on Elm Street and Night of the Living Dead. So what are they up to this year?

Of course, instead of the original title each one of the daddy-daughter flicks has a Norah-themed name. These include A Nightmare On Norah’s Street, Norah of the Living Dead and The Day Norah Stood Still.

This year the family of film mavens departed from the “Norah” type titles and made THAT, they’re own version of IT. If you’re all about Halloween-time scares, and creepy clowns, check out the Mayers’ masterpieces!

When nine-year-old Jake Arsenault’s parents dared the fourth grader to wear a hot dog costume to school for his student ID pic, he accepted—and the result was absolute awesomeness.

The fourth grade student at Biddeford Intermediate in Maine may have the best ID card in school (or world for that matter) history. Case in point: when Jake’s dad, Craig Arsenault, posted a photo of the identification card on Facebook, it quickly went viral.

Arsenault wrote on Facebook, “My wife and I dared our son to wear a hotdog costume for school pictures. The school let him do it, and I couldn’t be happier.” The dad told ABC News, “He was wondering what he should wear for school picture day when my wife jokingly suggested the hot dog costume.”

Along with the hot dog costume, the Arsenaults also sent Jake to school with a permission slip and the hope that the school would allow the genius idea. Arsenault explained to ABC News, “[We] told him we were excited to see what came back and then he came home one day with it, my wife sent me a picture and then I posted it on Facebook and it blew up from there.”

Even though the school did take a second, non-hot dog photo the next day, they will use the costumed version as Jake’s yearbook pic.

Friends star Jennifer Aniston just joined Instagram and her pal, and clearly biggest fan, Jennifer Garner welcomed her with an awesome LEGO Friends re-creation.

The actress had previously shared the addition of her new Friends LEGO set in an Instagram post and in a new video she used that set, which features all of the characters in Central Perk, to recreate one of the show’s famous episodes.

In the video posted to Instagram Garner voices every cast member in a hilarious recreation of the Friends episode titled “The One With the Embryos” which is more famously known as the episode featuring the big quiz game. It’s packed with some of the best moments and lines of the show and Garner nails them all in her fitting tribute complete with a laugh track.

The post received plenty of well-deserved praise including a comment from the Instagram newbie herself, Aniston who wrote “Genius,” followed by a handful of applause emojis. If only you could get a Emmy nod for an Insta video.

Too many Amazon packages? Don’t worry, this UPS driver will hide them from your spouse.

Shopping online is one of the blessings of parenting in the 21st Century. You never need to leave the house to stock up on supplies, but the downside is your porch will probably be constantly piled with packages. One clever woman has the perfect accessory to pair with her online shopping, a doormat that reads, “Please Hide Packages from Husband” and that’s exactly what her UPS delivery person did.

In the now viral post that Ebony Freeman shared on Facebook, she shows a picture of a giant package hilariously sticking out from underneath that genius doormat. The caption reads, “Oh my god look! The UPS guy actually hid it under the rug!”

The post was shared and liked thousands of times, with commenters coveting both the awesome doormat and the delivery person. “I had no clue it was going to get that much traction,” Freeman told Good Morning America, explaining that her husband Mike doesn’t actually get upset with her shopping habit. “I have a package a day coming from Amazon but he thinks it’s funny.”

At the end of a very long day you probably look forward to a little bit of quiet time. One mom couldn’t wait for the kids to go to bed to enjoy a restful moment so she came up with a clever pajama hack to help settle her kids down.

Mom of two Jessica D’Entremont recently shared her hilarious hack to get her kids to quiet down for bed time and parents are loving it. “Looking for a way to keep your kids still….” she wrote in her Facebook post. “Buy them glow in the dark pjs. Tell them they have to lie really still under the light to “charge” them…..”

https://www.instagram.com/p/B3Du9YGg0np/

The photo shows her pajama-clad kids laying on the floor as quiet as can be and you can almost hear a pin drop just looking at the picture.

Of course, the only way this clever hack will work is to ensure that the glow-in-the-dark pajamas are in need of recharging. Luckily, D’Entremont has the answer for that too. “To expand on the trickery I’ve started putting the pjs back into their drawer when they get dressed in the morning……unexposed to light all day they dim and do not glow in the dark when they tried to test me last night until they laid down again. Reinforcing the need to lie quietly under the light before bed,” she explains in an update to her original post. Genius.

If you’ve ever wondered how to sneak a snack into your mid-morning meeting, a nine-year-old girl from Missouri has an answer. Mom, St. Louis Post-Dispatch reporter Valerie Schremp Hahn, shared the idea on Twitter in which her daugther used an empty lip balm tube container to bring cheddar cheese into school.

Schremp Hahn posted a pic of the cheesy tube on Twitter, adding, “My 9-year-old daughter has taken an old lip balm tube and filled it with cheese so she can eat it in class.”

So how did the nine-year-old come up with such a creative idea? The fourth-grader told BuzzFeed, “I was just looking on YouTube because I was bored and I found this video and I decided to do it.” She added, “I just took some of my dad’s cheese, sliced it up, and put it in the chapstick container.”

After filling the emptied and cleaned tubes with sharp cheddar from Aldi, the nine-year-old brought the snack in to sneak as a mid-testing treat. She added, “You can lick it and no one will know.” Genius!

Carina Cansino is one creative mama. The mom from Texas recently tweeted pics of her five-year-old son Gus wearing a back-to-school shirt she designed, and it’s completely genius!

The first day of kindergarten is a moment that, as moms, we all want to remember forever. But sometimes the traditional first day of school photo just isn’t enough. So what can you do to mark this milestone?

https://twitter.com/carinawitha_C/status/1163426954806276096

Take a tip from Cansino and create your own first day shirt. The mom dressed her son in a shirt that’s fit for a high school grad—and someday it will. She added 2032 (Gus’s graduation year) to the front and his name to the back. The back also includes a spot for Gus to add his painted handprint each year as he moves from preschool through twelfth grade.

Cansino revealed, to Insider, “I wanted something that my son and I could enjoy not just now, but when he becomes an adult. I’m a sucker for keepsakes and sentimental valuables, so I know this would be perfect.” She went on to say, “I know one day we’ll both look back at all the photos and cherish all the great memories. It’s the best part of being a mom.”

When writer and mama Christine Burke chronicled her genius idea to throw a wedding dress party she never could have imagined what would come next. A fellow mom, Caroline Sakla, read the creative gown reuse story and took Burke’s bash a step farther.

Sakla told Scary Mommy, “Not every mom is married, and not every mom still fits into their wedding dress.” And with this in mind, Sakla created the “Mom Prom.”

The mom, and owner of the Little Explorers play space in Palm Harbor, Florida, posted her Mom Prom idea on Facebook. Soon after, over 200 people had responded and were interested in the idea.

Scala got plenty of help turning her Mom Prom vision into a reality. Local mom-preneurs volunteered their DJ-ing, photography and other services for the event. The super-sized response did more than give Scala some extra help. With so much interest in the prom, she decided to turn it into a charity benefit for Foster Florida—an organization that helps families who foster children.

If you live in the Palm Harbor area and missed this year’s Mom prom, don’t worry. According to Scala, “There’s no reason why we shouldn’t do this every year.”
