Right now everyone is looking for some good news. John Krasinski just created a YouTube channel to share heartwarming stories with people stuck at home during the coronavirus pandemic. Along with highlighting good news, Steve Carell made an appearance to mark the 15th anniversary of The Office.

Near the end of the show, Krasinski talks to a teenager who went viral over the weekend. Courtney “Coco” Johnson returned home from her last chemotherapy treatment last week and was surprised by a group of her friends cheering her on from a safe distance.

“I wrote to your mom and told her that I cried for a very long time after watching that, just pure joy,” Krasinski tells her. “You guys rock for sharing that with the rest of the world.”

Wet winter weather is upon us and if you’re on the hunt for the perfect pair of rain boots to battle the elements, you need look no further than your fave warehouse. Last year we spied the much coveted Hunter boots at Costco and they’ve returned in 2020!

The trendy boots are available in select warehouses and online in several styles and colors. Prices range from $74.99-$89.99, a steal when you consider the originals usually sell for $150!

Last year, the women’s tall gloss boot was available in black and navy for in-warehouse sales, in sizes ranging from 6 to 10. A Costco spokesperson confirmed to Red Tricycle that sales of the women’s gloss boot are dependent on your regional location. Hunter rain boots are also on sale at the Costco website in both dark blue and black for the same price of $89.99.

You can also find Hunter Original Short Boots at Costco.com for $74.99. The matte finish boot comes in gray and black, and with a thick traction sole.

Via live chat, a representative stated that visiting your local warehouse or giving them a call before heading over is the best way to find out if it will carry the boot this season. You also have the option to use Costco’s live chat option to inquire about local inventory.

The customer service representative was also able to confirm that the Hunter rain boots are a seasonal item with limited quantities. All orders have been placed for warehouses and they don’t anticipate getting additional shipments beyond what is currently being sold––although they did state the orders were large!

That being said, it’s safe to say that if you see these lovelies at your local warehouse––buy them and buy them now!

7 “Secret” Costco Membership Perks & Hacks You Need to Know About

Dear Confessional,

I’ve almost drowned three times. I’m a terrible swimmer. I am an adult woman with four children who swim better than I do—and yet I still pinch my nose under water and doggy paddle. My resilient children swim like fish in any temperature. Even though I may someday be taking swimming lessons with my 3-year old, this post is actually about some incredible elderly “wave-jumpers,” as I have named them. It’s bizarre and wonderful at the same time.

On our last holiday, my family took a trip to Spain, and my kids were practically hurling themselves at the beaches. As I got cozy in the sand to keep an eye on the crew, I noticed about a half-dozen elders on a mission in their bathing suits. Together, they marched up to the shore, repositioned their swim caps, and readjusted their goggles. Look past my kids in the pictures above. There they are.

My eyes were fixed, and I was ready to see some enviable swimming action, since mine involves pinching my nose and some unflattering flailing. Yet after entering the ocean, they just stood there, motionless.

Truthfully, I was so confused. They just stared ahead at the oversized waves. When the wave pushed them, they weren’t afraid—even if they had to take a step back to rebalance or boldly stepped a few feet forward, deeper. Sometimes, they would surprisingly dive into the bigger waves. Yet after all of that commotion, they always returned to their original spot in the chilly water and dug their feet back into the sand. What were they thinking? What was the purpose?

After a few weeks of trying to make sense of it all, it became clear—it changed everything. You see, these women were conquering the waves. They fearlessly stared at an overwhelming obstacle yet were at complete peace. Even though each wave pushed and pulled them, they always counterbalanced and became even stronger. For those women, the ocean served the same purpose, but their unique position in the sand and approach to the wave was personal.

So what does this all have to do with me? For me, these wise women encapsulated life. No matter our background, age, size, or color, we all stand the same—we stand together in the similar journey of living, growing, loving, and evolving, but our experience is always unique. Each moment is a wave. Even when life may knock us down or sneak up in an undercurrent—we live, we learn, and we reposition our feet for the next wave.

After living abroad in a few different countries and traveling globally, my absolute perspective has changed. We are all so beautiful, so different, and have so much to offer in our individual journeys.

You see—we are all like these wave-jumpers. Every experience is merely a moment to absorb, a wave approaching that will pass, with impressionable hindsight to teach us. My life is an open book. I love to help others when and how I can. Most who know me have labeled me, “Supermom.” I’m not, I just try my best and keep on couterbalancing and learning. I don’t judge. I don’t criticize. I don’t live with regret or guilt. It’s refreshing and it’s my personal masterpiece.

My life is a mix of all things and all emotions, mostly humor. So I invite you to be the fly on the wall of my open Confessional, filled with some candid mess-ups, laughs, and life lessons… stay tuned.

IKEA is doing its part to reduce return waste. The Swedish furniture and home retailer recently announced a new partnership with the return optimization provider Optoro—and the results may just change the planet.

If you’re not sure how returns impact the environment, think about what happens to items that can’t return to store shelves, require extra packaging or are transported from one location to another. While a return here and there may not seem like a major problem, over time (and with the high volume of returns in the U.S. retail market) unwanted products can fill landfills and contribute to corporate carbon footprints.

The new collab between IKEA and Optoro seeks to remedy this situation. Javier Quiñones, President & Chief Sustainability Officer of IKEA Retail U.S,, said in a press release, “We’re on a mission to become a circular business by 2030, and we need partners like Optoro who can help us achieve our goals.” Quiñones continued, “Optoro’s solution will enable us to eliminate much of the waste created in the reverse supply chain, from minimizing the carbon emissions released in return shipping to finding the best next homes for returned items.”

Tobin Moore, CEO and cofounder of Optoro, added, “IKEA shares our mission of looking to innovation and technology to build the circular economy. Through our work together, we will be able to make an even larger impact on reducing waste from returns, while also improving the customer experience to help fuel ecommerce growth.”

IKEA plans to implement Optoro’s technology in 10 distribution centers, 50 retail stores and the Customer Support Center in the United States.

IKEA’s Top 10 Most Useful Parenting Items

As you may have heard, the Museum of Ice Cream, which stormed Manhattan’s Meatpacking District (and Instagram) in the summer of 2016, has returned to New York City! This time, it’s to stay, at a three-story building in SoHo. The creation of CEO Maryelis Bunn and co-founder Manish Vora, The new Museum of Ice Cream features 13 new installations across 25,000 square feet, as well as a cafe serving up original ice cream creations and a MOIC gift shop. It’s bigger this time around, and we think, even more of a kid crowdpleaser. Scroll down to see the pics from our recent visit (warning: spoilers ahead).

We All Scream for Ice Cream

Mimi O'Connor

The Museum of Ice Cream has returned, occupying a storefront at 558 Broadway. Unlike it's previous incarnation in the Meatpacking District, this one is here to stay. (It's right up the street from the slime-inspired Sloomoo Institute if you want to make a day of colorful interactive pop-up experiences.) It is, of course, a celebration of ice cream, but the themes of imagination, cooperation and just plain fun are woven throughout the colorful immersive rooms.

Pick Your Name

The first step of the experience is to pick an "ice cream name" and make a name tag. There are suggestions to get your creative juices flowing: "Demi Gelato", "Taylor Split", "Justin Freezer" etc.

Friends Along the Way

Mimi O'Connor

Next up a wacky ice cream parlor of sorts, where ice cream baristas serve up a bowl with a sweet treat to get you started. Throughout the museum, you'll encounter assorted MOIC characters, like this lady, who did a bit of singing from her mini stage. (Thumbs up to the wallpaper here.)

Trippy Tea Party

Dubbed "Oh Yah", this room is inspired by Alice in Wonderland. The table "floats" with the aid of pink balloons, and features a spread of delectable treats—only some of which you can eat. (But you are encouraged to do so!)

Room of Rooms

Mimi O'Connor

Next is the "Room of Rooms", with little surprises behind curtains and doors (including a very tiny little disco party!)

All Aboard

Mimi O'Connor

Then hop the train to "Starlem" on an interstellar "subway." (Be sure to grab "The Inside Scoop" newspaper from a box before you  board. The paper has some fun puzzles, recipes, an "ice cream scopes.")

Just Chill

Mimi O'Connor

Exit the train and enter a soothing space with swirling clouds to gaze at.

Duck and Jump

Mimi O'Connor

Pass an ombre banana installation (photos don't do it justice) and make your way to a "sprinkle cake" you can step inside of (kids will find this much easier than adults) and a mini pink bouncy house—also a real kid pleaser.

Stop for a Stretch

Mimi O'Connor

Pass through a room where you can spell out what you're grateful for (as well as other positive sentiments) on magnetized walls, and then stop for a taste of stretchy ice cream.

Make Some Music

Mimi O'Connor

A music-themed room features huge keyboards that you can play by pulling ropes attached to the keys, as well as turntables for trying your hand at mixing some tunes.

Strike a Pose

Mimi O'Connor

This rainbow hallway is incredible in person (and also makes for a nice photo op/selfie.)

Slip Slide Away!

Mimi O'Connor

You can grab a sliding sack to get maximum speed down the spiral ice cream slide. (We went without and it was plenty fast!) You can also take an elevator to the next room if you're not feeling up for it.

The Ice Cream Cave

Mimi O'Connor

Your thrilling ride down ends in this glowing, soothing space meant to resemble melting ice cream dubbed, "New World."

Time to Play

Mimi O'Connor

There's another original ice cream flavor to sample just off the dimly-lit cave, and then you head to a massive, colorful ice cream-themed playground. Swings, jungle gym structures, basketball with "ice cream cone" baskets and a sort of sandbox filled with faux ice cream cones.

Sprinkle Pool 2.0

Mimi O'Connor

The grand finale, the Sprinkle Pool, is bigger, and is filled with larger sprinkles this time around. "Maraschino cherries" are cast about for extra sprinkle pool highjinks.

Here's the Scoop

Mimi O'Conor

Tickets are $39 per person, and kids under two are free. You can get tickets at the door if they're available, but it's a good idea to buy your ticket online ahead of time. (They are sold in half-hour increments.) Estimate an hour to 90 minutes to navigate the whole thing.

Of course, there are plenty of Museum of Ice Cream-related products and gifts to snap up here, from branded water bottles and ice cream scoops to earrings, stuffed unicorns and glam accessories. (You can also buy pints of the custom-created flavors, which include Churro Churro, Pinata, and Queen Bee, the last of which, a honey-flavored treat being served here, is no doubt a nod to what is the inaugural MOIC's most famous visitors, Beyoncé—with Blue Ivy, of course.)

In the next three months astronauts aboard the International Space Station will take a record 10 spacewalks—including the first all-female walk in history!

Last March astronauts Christina Koch and Anne McClain were scheduled to make the first female-only walk. Citing the unavailability of spacesuits, NASA scrapped the walk.

Of the nixed spacewalk, Brando Dean, from NASA’s public affairs office, told CNN (back in March), “We do our best to anticipate the spacesuit sizes that each astronaut will need, based on the spacesuit size they wore in training on the ground.” Dean continued, “However, individuals’ sizing needs may change when they are on orbit, in response to the changes living in microgravity can bring about in a body. In addition, no one training environment can fully simulate performing a spacewalk in microgravity, and an individual may find that their sizing preferences change in space.”

Another NASA public affairs rep, Stephanie Schierholz, also told CNN, “You want it to be as optimally fitted as possible. So the feedback from Anne was that she felt she should really be in a medium suit. There’s another medium torso but it’s not currently configured into a spacesuit. So it’s easier to swap out the spacewalkers than to swap out parts of the spacesuit.”

This time around Koch is scheduled to take her all-female spacewalk with astronaut Jessica Meir on Oct. 21. McClain has already returned to Earth.

Even though the walk with Meir is a history-maker, it isn’t the only one for Koch. She’ll take three spacewalks in October, including two with astronaut Andrew Morgan.

Not only is Koch making history as part of the first all-female spacewalk, but she’s also primed to break the record for the longest single spaceflight by a woman!

Celebs, they’re just like us—kind of. Even though we might not have the same glitz and glam of actress Kirsten Dunst, we still have the same mommy problems.

Dunst recently opened up about her views on motherhood during the Television Critics Association Summer 2019 Press Tour. The mama to toddler Ennis Howard, with fiance Jesse Plemons, spoke candidly about the challenges of staying at home with her kiddo.

The actress told People, “I’m just tired all the time.” Dunst, who returned to work six months after giving birth to star in the soon-to-be Showtime series On Becoming a God In Central Florida, added, “Also doing the show too, it’s so much easier to go back to work than it is to be a stay at home mom.”

So how much easier does Dunst think work is? She continued, “I was like, ‘bye’ to my mother-in-law! I was like, phew!”

Dunst’s new show, On Becoming a God In Central Florida, debuts on Showtime On Aug. 25 at 10 p.m. ET.

What Actually Happened When Olivia Wilde’s Kid Had a Public Melt Down Will Warm Your Heart

Now that baby makes three, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are settling into their newly renovated home.

The couple started making interior changes on Frogmore Cottage (a five-bedroom abode on Windsor Castle’s grounds) before Archie’s birth, and now that he’s here, it looks like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have completed the exterior too. So what kinds of changes did the new parents make to their family’s home?

According to Buckingham Palace, the renovations came in at a $3 million price tag—thanks to British taxpayers via the Queen’s Annual Sovereign Grant (which helps to maintain and conserve royal palaces). A source close to the royal family told PEOPLE, “The heating systems were outdated and inefficient and were not to the environmental standards that we would expect today.” The source also added that the older electrical system, gas lines and water mains also required replacement.

Even though taxpayers footed the majority of the permanent reno bill (after all, it is a historic building), Prince Harry and Markle paid for fixtures, fittings and furnishings themselves. Reports have also surfaced noting that the couple also paid for some of the pricier projects, such as a kitchen upgrade and flooring.

Even though the couple hasn’t released specifics, rumors of a mother-and-baby yoga room with a floating floor are reportedly false.

Of the renovations and restorations, Sir Michael Stevens, Keeper of the Privy Purse, told reporters, “The property had not been the subject of work for some years and had already been earmarked for renovation in line with our responsibility to maintain the condition of the occupied Royal Palaces Estate.” Stevens went on to add, “The Sovereign Grant covered the work undertaken to turn the building into the official residence and home of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their new family. The building was returned to a single residence and outdated infrastructure was replaced to guarantee the long-term future of the property.”
