Think of it as a Schoolhouse Rock remix! A new show about rights and citizenship is coming to Netflix, packed with starpower and produced by the Obamas. We The People will fittingly premiere on July 4 and you can preview the trailer now.

The series will feature 10 animated videos that bring musicians and directors together to present civics lessons for the next generation. And it’s quite the list of talent: H.E.R., Lin-Manuel Miranda, Adam Lambert, Bebe Rexha, Brandy Carlile, Daveed Diggs, Janelle Monae and more! You’ll experience original compositions and songs as the soundtrack for the narrative.

Chris Nee, who formerly created Doc McStuffins and worked as an associate producer on Sesame Street, is the brainpower behind the new show. Barack and Michelle Obama are executive producers along with Higher Ground’s Tonia Davis and Priya Swaminathan and Black-ish creator Kenya Barris.

Your family can brush up on civil rights knowledge, courtesy of each three minute episode—and have a lot of fun along the way. Add this one to your watch list for the summer!

Dear Momma,

I see you, driving down the road with tears in your eyes. I see the deer caught in headlights look as your hands firmly grip the wheel. You sob, uncontrollably, afraid to utter the words that well within your body. I know you utter how much your child is loved, how you wouldn’t change them for the world, that you will get through it together but I know you’d give your life in a heartbeat to have it so your child didn’t struggle with aggression.

I know the type of day you had. The one where you listened carefully as little feet hit the ground and you cautiously walked on eggshells trying to figure out just what kind of day you may have. You tried to find the perfect clothes, that didn’t tug or pull on your little one’s body. You gently brushed their hair avoiding any snarls for fear that one misstep would send you into a place no parent ever imagines you could be. I know you spent the day offering tokens for positive behaviors and lavishing your child with the love they need to know they are so precious, so wanted, so exceptional that they haven’t been put here just to change your world but to help you change the world for them and others who will walk in the same shoes.

I know it’s late in the day. You’ve iced the bruises and yet your heart is broken. You carefully cradle your child and secure them in their seat to drive. A drive might fix it, or at least keep your child safe and allow you to release the pain that has built up inside, all day. As you head into the darkness I know you wonder if anyone gets it. I know you have been told you are “too much” by friends because well, maybe you are. Maybe the pain and suffering you live with are too much for others to bear, but not me. I am here Momma, I am here for you.

I’m driving too, my child is buckled in. I look in the rearview mirror, and I see you. I see your eyes, darkened with sadness, your cheeks, tear-stained from not just the physical pain but the emotional pain. I know your fear. I live it too.

Aggressive autism isn’t talked about a lot. Most parents fear coming out, afraid to be honest with others or even themselves. They fear saying it out loud because then, it’s true. They fear judgment. They don’t believe they will ever be understood and so, they live in hiding, covering up their bruises with make-up, wearing long sleeves, and perhaps going so far as to get tattoos to hide the scars, at least the physical ones that others can see.

Momma, I want you to know, I see you. I am here. I am you. Except, I am tired. Tired of doing this alone. Tired of hiding. Tired of being ashamed because ashamed I am not. My daughter is more than her aggressive autism and when the autism aggression takes hold of her, she, the child I birthed is gone. She is morphed into a being that she cannot control.

As I rock her, try to gain control of one arm or another to keep her from hurting herself or someone else, I whisper, I am here. We will do this. Together. You are special and I will work through this by your side. She flails and screams unable to control herself, in that moment I find myself in what feels like an out of body experience, turning my mind away from the searing pain of the bites, pinches, and hair-pulling because I know this is not my daughter. And sometimes, sometimes as quickly as it started, that autism aggression escapes her body and she is left limp.

I cradle her in my arms. Rocking. Rocking her. Reminding her I am with her. She is mine and she is so loved.

Momma, come out. You are not alone. You need love. Your child needs to be celebrated, to be shared, to be lavished with the same gifts of other children who don’t live with aggression because of her aggression, she can’t control and Momma, there is nothing to be ashamed of. You show up. Daily. You walk beside your child. You show them love and you, my friend, are their greatest advocate and there is no reason to hide any of that.

Prepping that back-to-school style isn’t just about the threads. A new haircut or hairstyle can be a great way to start the school year off on the right foot. From classic cuts to trendy styles, we’ve rounded up our favorite kids’ hairstyles and haircuts for kids to inspire your tykes (and you!) to update their tresses.

Kids’ Haircuts

Bangs

ys15 via Pixaby

If you've got a kid who can pull off bangs, go for it! You can trim them up in between cuts, and she'll stand out in a crowd. Be sure to snag a proper pair of scissors that are designed for trimming hair.

Buzz Cut

Quite possibly the easiest haircut of all time, if you don't want to worry about styling anyone's hairdo before hurrying out the door, the buzz cut is your answer. Do you have the right trimmer

Curly Bob

Eye for Ebony

For curly haired-kiddos, this is a perfect length. It'll still have plenty of volume, and it won't be too hard to maintain. Be sure to use plenty of detangler or a leave-in conditioner when dealing with sensitive little heads.

Mohawk

Imelda via Flickr

With shaved sides and long hair in the middle, a mohawk is a great way to make a statement on the first day. But, be warned, you'll need to be ready to style it every day, so this style is best for product-savvy parents.

Textured

Amanda Urabe

This cut gives straight hair definition and is a great get-up-and-go do.

Layered

Amanda Kitano

Add a little flair to shoulder-length hair with some defining layers. This one might take a daily blow-out to maintain the style, so be sure you have a good hairdryer on hand.

Side Bangs

Not all boy haircuts have to be short. Side bangs and layers make this longer look manageable. A little bit of gel to keep it contained, and he's ready to go!

Side Shaved

Kelly Brook Chang

Rock this trendy look that’s both awesome and makes it easy to get hair done in the morning rush.

Ivy League Fade

This classic look never goes out of style. The best part is it’s easy to maintain, and it looks great on all ages.

A-Line Bob

Frame her face with an A-line bob that leaves a little length so you can still rock a pony with adorable hair accessories when you need to mix it up.

Curly Fade

Tame those curly tresses with a neat fade. The kids will score cuteness points for matching back-to-school hairdos like this duo. Don't forget the curl treatment before styling!

Kids’ Hairstyles

Side Ponytail

istock

With Stranger Things being a huge hit out this summer, it's no wonder everything '80s is totally "in." In that vein, give the classic ponytail a makeover by switching to a side version! Be sure to stock up on plenty of scrunchies to complete the look.

Natural Braids

Matthew Henry from Burst

Keep natural hair protected, out of the way and totally adorable with multiple braids and colorful bands.

Fauxhawk

Bryant Horowitz

With length on top and a little bit of product, you can easily rock a hawk without fully committing to the cut.
