One country star was noticeably absent from the recent Grammy Awards. A very pregnant Maren Morris reportedly spent her Grammy time at Blackberry Farm in Walland, Tennessee.

Morris, who was nominated for best country duo/group performance along with Brandi Carlile, announced her pregnancy back in October with a sweet Instagram post.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B7yiDDMBOqP/

The mama-to-be’s initial announcement featured a baby bump photo of herself with husband Ryan Hurd. Morris captioned the pic, “The irony is just too rich that after a year of living in the “GIRL” headspace, the universe would give us a baby boy to even things out. See you in 2020, little one.”

Her Grammy-day post showcases Morris’ belly bump—as she stands in front of a supremely scenic setting. Morris captioned her new IG photo, “Back at the farm. #babymoon.”

Even though Morris didn’t win a Grammy this year, judging by her IG posts, this soon-to-be mommy still has plenty to celebrate!

These “Game of Thrones” Inspired Baby Names Are Taking Over

This “Game of Thrones” Star Gave Fans an Important Look Into Life on Set As a Mom

Photo: Rachel Jones-Pittier

Riding in the car that day you sat, as always, on my lap (which really meant taking up half the front seat). Daddy drove, and our meticulously packed duffel bag sat in the backseat. As we prepared to drop you off at Nana’s, it dawned on me – this might be the last time with just the three of us in the car together. Everything was about to change. And you, my sweet pup, would no longer be an “only child.”

Let’s be honest, you had it pretty good those first six years – doggy daycare, long scenic walks, a bed and toys at the office; you joined us for friends’ game nights, al fresco dinners and vacations. Some saw you just as a pet, we saw you as a family member. And we were about to add another family member – but human.

Four days after that tense drive (an eternity to you), we came home, but we weren’t alone. We brought a tiny, pungent, noisy… thing. It was hard to get a good look at it through the blanket, and you couldn’t understand why we guarded it so closely from your wet nose and eager tongue. Our nickname for the thing, “Baby Sissy,” only piqued your curiosity.

As much as we all hoped things at home would go back to normal, nighttime was anything but. Throughout the night we were interrupted by Baby Sissy’s sharp, demanding cries. I’m sure we wondered the same thing – how could a noise so loud come from something so small?? The days of snuggling up together for eight hours of uninterrupted sleep were gone.

Daytime was just as hectic. For awhile, I was not a good walk partner. A few times, Nana had to remind us to feed you. Your space was taken over by new toys and gear that you couldn’t play with. And your usual stroll around the yard for the perfect spot was cut short as we stood in the doorway with a crying… lump.

Friends had warned me that in the anxiety and sleep deprivation of those early weeks, we might take stress out on you. But it was actually the opposite – you were a reprieve. Though we loved your Baby Sissy immensely, there was so much about her that was new and unknown; but you were familiar. When I felt at my lowest, you were there to remind me it would be ok. When it seemed all Baby Sissy could do was take – my body, love, time and sleep – there you were to give. Uncomplicated, enthusiastic and overflowing with affection.

Those moments also reminded me that you’d make a great “Big Sissy.” It wasn’t overnight, but a wonderful thing happened in the time since we brought home the lump – a tiny human emerged.

Now you know Baby Sissy as the little person who drops tasty food scraps for you, squeals with delight when you enter a room and gives you whole-body hugs. We’re confident that for most of your days together, Baby Sissy will multiply the affection and love you receive – not take it away.

I know the first few months were hard on you, pup. Believe me, they were hard on us, too. But if there’s one thing I hope to communicate to you, it’s that you haven’t lost our love or your place in our family. You’ll always be my first baby.

Where did you get married? Was it in a magical, fantasy spot? Maybe it was on a sandy beach. Or maybe it was in some sort of other tropical paradise. While those are dream wedding picks for plenty of brides-to-be, one couple chose a less vacation-y venue. Where? They picked Costco!

https://www.instagram.com/p/BZX2Yq9FHCB/?taken-by=rps88a

When Sue Berkley and Eli Bob, from Sydney, Australia, got married they decided that their favorite retailer was the perfect wedding pick.

This wasn’t just a quickie wedding in the aisles, in between the bulk diapers and jogs of mustard. The couple’s wedding included a full set-up. There were tables (with linens and flowers, of course), chairs and plenty of “scenic” décor. Oh, and the whole thing came at a low, low cost of just under $10 a person. You can’t beat that! Instead of the typical wedding fare, guests were treated to Costco pizza, hot dogs and meat pies. Along with that, guests could get unlimited soft drinks from the store’s soda fountain for only $1.49.

So, why pick Costco? The bride told Australia’s A Current Affair, “Where else can I get married to the one I love, in the place that I love, surrounded by the people I love?”

Would you get married at a retail location? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Sun-drenched plateaus, Oregon’s oldest bookstore, a 13-foot Columbian mammoth — you and the kids will discover all this (and more!) in The Dalles, Oregon. Tom McCall Preserve at Rowena

Get a bird’s eye view of the area (and stretch your legs) with a stop at the 231-acre Tom McCall Preserve, located on a plateau overlooking the Gorge. This is where the rainy, forested west side of the Cascades gives way to the grassy, sunny prairies of the east. You can also explore one of the preserve’s two trails: a one-mile trail that crosses the plateau, encircling a permanent pond, and the two-mile McCall Point Trail, which begins at the south side of the turnaround and gains around 1,000 feet in elevation.

Pro tip: Colorful wildflowers usually carpet the plateau from late February through June. No dogs or bicycles are allowed; this is to protect rare plants and sensitive wildlife.

The exhibits in this impressive 48,200 square foot timber-and-glass facility explore regional plant and wildlife, eleven thousand years of local history and catastrophic floods that carved out the Gorge. An impressive life-sized Columbia mammoth dominates the Ice Age section of the center. Throughout are more displays where children can learn, touch, dress up and create, including the Kids Explorer Room. When you’re done inside check out the restored grounds, which are home to over 90 native plant species as well as walking paths, a pond and scenic overlooks.

Pro tip: Make a day of it by packing a picnic lunch or grabbing a bite to eat at the center’s Basalt Rock Café. (Think soups, sandwiches and burgers.) Live raptor presentations are in the main foyer every day.

Walk, bike and/or stroll along this wide, ten-mile long paved path hugs the scenic southern bank of the Columbia River between the discovery center and The Dalles Dam. Along the way you’ll encounter a learning garden, Lewis and Clark’s Fort Rock campsite, downtown The Dalles, Riverfront Park and more. Pets and strollers are welcome.

Pro tip: Start from the northwest terminus at the discovery center. While the trail has little to no elevation, younger children may tucker out before reaching Riverfront Park six miles away. Fortunately, the trail is accessible approximately every mile between the center and the park. A portion of the trail near The Dalles Dam isn’t complete, between miles eight and ten.
