Two Good, the Danone yogurt brand, just launched the yogurt industry’s first-ever one for one program called One Cup, Less Hunger. For every cup of yogurt purchased, Two Good is donating a cup of food in partnership with food rescue organizations City Harvest and We Don’t Waste. The program launched on the heels of Two Good’s 2020 Earth Week activation, during which the brand donated $100,000 from profits made at select partner retailers to these same food rescue organizations.

Food insecurity is at a high with 1 in 6 Americans facing hunger during the pandemic. Food rescue initiatives are especially important. August also saw the end of the federal CARES Act, which left many families in a lurch. For kids who are returning to virtual classes, 27% of parents say they cannot afford the breakfasts/lunches for their children that their schools would have provided before the pandemic. As students return to school in-person and online, 10% of families report that daily meals are causing them to incur education-related debt.

Two Good

Through this program, Two Good is empowering consumers to vote with their dollar which, based on current sales trends, is estimated to allow for 46 million pounds of food to be rescued, providing 28 million meals to those who need them across the U.S.

Other food brands are stepping up right now to help fight food insecurity and hunger at this pivotal moment during what would normally be “back to school season,” including:

Capri Sun: Donating 5 million filtered water pouches to schools

Cheerios: Donated $1.3M to No Kid Hungry and partnered with Jerry Harris

SnackNation: For every box sold, SnackNation is donating one meal to families in need, in partnership with Feeding America

Danone North America estimates that the annual impact of Two Good’s One Cup, Less Hunger program will allow for 46 million pounds of food to be rescued, providing 28 million meals to those who need them across the U.S.4 By redirecting this food, the program also helps avoid the emission of greenhouse gases (GHG) that would have resulted if the food was wasted. When considering all of the GHG emissions that go into producing, processing, transporting and disposing of food, what we are helping rescue has a footprint equivalent to the annual impact of over 10,000 cars, or approximately 5.5 million gallons of gasoline burned.

Two Good

“Two Good is introducing the yogurt industry’s first one for one program, which will be in support of the increasingly urgent issues in our country that are food insecurity and food waste,” shared Pedro Silveira, President, U.S. Yogurt, Danone North America. “Launched last year, Two Good was a breakthrough innovation in the yogurt category with its 2g of total sugar per serving and a delicious taste, aligned to its promise of ‘do more with less.’ We launched our social purpose to support food rescue organizations earlier this year during our Earth Week program, and are committed to expanding the impact our business can make when it comes to food waste and hunger.”

As part of the world’s largest Certified B Corporation, Danone North America, Two Good is critical to the mission of bringing health through food to as many people as possible. Since its introduction to the market in 2019, Two Good has cultivated high loyalty among the brand’s consumers — in fact, 23% of people who have tried Two Good would not buy another yogurt if the product wasn’t available (versus a 4% equivalent figure for a close competitor). As a result, Two Good recently surpassed $100 million in retail sales.

“Since the start of the COVID-19 crisis, City Harvest has ramped up our operations significantly in order to meet the overwhelming need for emergency food we are seeing across New York City,” said Rebecca Fontes, Director of Business Partnerships at City Harvest. “With unemployment at an all-time high, it’s projected that food insecurity will balloon by 38% among New Yorkers, and 49% among New York City children. We are incredibly thankful for Danone North America’s support as we continue to rescue and deliver food for our neighbors in need during these unprecedented times.”

“With this partnership, we will expand our mission of feeding those who are food insecure in the community and continue to keep millions of pounds of high-quality food out of the landfill,” shared Arlan Preblud, Executive Director of We Don’t Waste. “To be selected by Danone North America is a game-changer for our hunger-fighting network and we are honored to be part of the One for One program.”

Underscoring the significance of Two Good’s One Cup, Less Hunger program, the brand is adding its commitment to every pack of yogurt in-stores beginning on October 1, 2020. For more information about Two Good, please visit www.goodyogurt.com.

Get Your Little Ones in the Kitchen This Summer with Raddish Kids

Send Your Kids to Camp Bonkers, a Free Virtual Summer Camp from YouTube

SiriusXM’s “Camp KPL” Is Here to Entertain Your Kids This Summer

If there’s one thing parents have in common, it’s that most of us have dealt with a picky eater at one time or another. Now, a fellow mom may have solved the problem.

In a recent Facebook post, Jane Stine shared a photo of a spaghetti squash with a Winnie the Pooh sticker. “You know how kids always want Paw Patrol yogurt or Disney waffles or whatever? Bring your own stickers to the grocery store and start sticking.”

The hack is simple: just take some of your kiddos favorite character stickers to the grocery store and use them on fruits and veggies. When they see (insert character)-“brand” produce, they’ll hopefully be more interested in eating it!

The post, which has already been shared over 100,000 times is garnering praise from parents everywhere.

Getting kids to make healthy choices isn’t always easy, but one mom’s simple snack hack to get kids to eat healthy has gone viral and you’re going to want to try it.

Mom and teacher Sarah Hornung recently shared her clever mom hack to Instagram with an image of her fridge stocked with containers full of healthy snacks. The post has since gone viral with thousands of likes and shares and it’s not hard to see why everyone thinks it’s so smart.

As Hornung explains in her post, each week she stocks these Dollar Store containers with healthy snacks, like fruits, vegetables, string cheese, yogurt and more. This makes grabbing a healthy snack incredibly easy. The thing that’s often difficult about eating healthy is that it can require prep, like peeling and cutting fruits and vegetables. This simple hack makes it easy to just grab and go.

“Everyone can relate to throwing out untouched produce at the end of the week and most parents find themselves in some kind of negotiation with kids over food on the regular,” Hornung told Good Morning America. “I have seen a lot of pictures of fridges and pantries on Instagram and Pinterest that are picture-perfect and filled with expensive, specialty items. I think my post appealed to the masses because it looks like most people’s fridges — just organized into containers I bought at a dollar store. I think it’s something that regardless of how old your kids are, what they like to eat or how much money you make, it is a doable idea,” she continued.

The other benefit of this clever snack hack is that it helps foster independence in kids. Having healthy snacks in easy-to-access containers makes it much easier for kids to hit the fridge on their own and make healthy choices without having to ask parents for help. Now that’s a win-win.

What’s better than tasting the rainbow? Tasting a yogurt-covered one, apparently! New Skittles DIPS are a yogurt coated candy that’s sure to be your newest confectionary obsession.

Skittles has just revealed that the yogurt-coated Skittles, which are already extremely popular in the United Kingdom, are set to make their American debut. “Our fanciest Skittles yet are being hand-delivered to a store near you,” the Skittles Facebook announcement is captioned. “Get ready for Skittles DIPS coming in 2020!”

https://www.instagram.com/p/B1ZB13SB-dK/

According to Delish, each package of the new Skittles DIPS will feature the original five flavors, including strawberry, orange, grape, green apple and lemon covered in a yogurt-flavored coating.

TODAY Show hosts Willie Geist and Sheinelle Jones had mixed reactions when they were among the first to try the new confection, but that doesn’t dampen our enthusiasm. The new flavor won’t hit store shelves until Feb. 2020 so you’ll just have to wait to give the yogurt-coated rainbow a taste for yourself.

The New Candy That May Replace Your Morning Cup of Coffee

It’s been nearly nine years since I first became a Mom. Five years after my first son was born, I truly didn’t know if I would have a second. Life got in the way, the timing never seemed right and my firstborn just kept getting older; we just weren’t sure if it made sense. Now that we were finally past the challenge of the infant and toddler years and experiencing some version of normalcy, did we really want to “hit the reset button” and start all over? With the larger age gap, would our children even experience the benefit of having a sibling around to play with and grow up together?

Now, as I look over at my toddler’s sweet, joyous face and think back on those early concerns, I know there was no reason for pause. And even with its challenges, there’s not a single thing I would change. Because right now, at this very moment, this is what it’s like to be the mom to a three-year-old:

Joyous: You’re such a happy little boy. Your smile is contagious, I watch you enter a room and spread that smile to everyone you encounter, strangers included. It fills my heart with such happiness.

Energetic: From the moment you get up (way too early) to the moment your head hits the pillow, you are going full-steam-ahead. There’s just too much to see, too much to do, and you want to experience it all.

Learning: There’s a lot for a three-year-old to learn. You’ve struggled with a speech delay and you’ve worked so very hard at it. You’ve made major strides and words I never even knew you understood are pouring from your mouth. Ironically, I can barely express how much I love hearing all the wonderful things you have to say.

Challenging: You are a toddler through and through, to a fault. And toddlers push the limits just to see how far they can go. Of all your new words “NO!” might be your favorite. And when you’re the one told “No,” watch out.

Awe-inspiring: You look at the world with such big beautiful awe. Just yesterday, when you woke up in the morning, you looked out the window and exclaimed “Wow! The sun is up, the moon is down!” I’m so lucky to be able to glimpse the world anew through your eyes.

Stubborn: It is borderline impossible to get you to do something you don’t want to do. Sadly, this includes eating 90% of the food I make, driving me insane nightly as I try to convince you otherwise. In your perfect world, you would live on a strict diet of yogurt, muffins, and crackers and hummus.

Independent: You have a big brother as a role model and you want to do everything yourself too. You think you’re bigger than you are, but that often also pushes you to do things other kids your age wouldn’t. This is a blessing and a curse as I run behind you just trying to keep up and prevent catastrophe.

Fearless: It is terrifying. After years with an older son who was more content to sit and play, and to this day, still assesses the risk factor in every challenge, you very much do not. Case in point, last week our “Sunday Funday” was spent in the ER getting five staples in your head after a rather reckless ride on your Thomas the Train toy. I’m still traumatized from it.

Smiles and Laughter: Even after a hard fall, you’re back to your sweet happy little self in no time. Your laugh is perhaps the greatest sound on earth and you spread it like confetti. Lately, you’ve taken to saying “I’m funny.” And yes, sweetie, you very much are.

Sibling Rivalry: After a rather blissful three years of you and your big bro getting along marvelously with him doting on you and affectionately calling you “Mr. Baby” (a nickname I’m so sad you’ve outgrown), you are now becoming your own person with your own interests. Unfortunately, those interests often include playing with his toys and taking his stuff. You’re no longer a harmless presence in his life and you very quickly are learning the tricks of the sibling rivalry trade yourself, pulling your own power moves on a brother almost three times your age. It’s almost impressive.

Snuggles and Big Hugs: You are a world-class snuggler and will lay on me for hours, or you’ll scoot over just an inch closer to be next to me. Your sweet chubby little arms wrapped around me, and those sweet smooches you give me when we snuggle, are the best feelings in the world. I hope it doesn’t change anytime soon.

Perfect: Ask any parent of a toddler and they will speak of the challenges and trust me when I say they are not wrong. It’s dealing with epic toddler tantrums and an unreasonable little human who has no idea what they’re doing. But three is also a rather fantastic age where the world is an amazing place and every day is an adventure. Where laughter flows openly and happiness is contagious. And I’m going to do everything in my power to soak up every minute. Because four and five and ten and twenty are right around the corner.
