Pete Davidson is making the rounds again. The comedian and actor, who’s recently been linked to Kim Kardashian and who single-handedly prompted Netflix to add a new movie category is now the voice of a lovable pooch in a Netflix upcoming animated film.

Marmaduke, quite possibly the world’s most untrainable dog, is returning to the screen in a lovable new family movie. The Great Dane has a new mission this time around: to join the world dog championship. However, in typical Marmaduke fashion, he just can’t seem to walk the straight and narrow and avoid trouble.

When his family calls him a loser and he over hears them say “some dogs are meant to be champions and some dogs are meant to be dogs,” Marmaduke wants to prove them all wrong. Determined to become the first Great Dane in history to win the Westminster Champion’s trophy, he comes under the tutelage of legendary dog trainer, Guy Hilton.

While we don’t know what happens in the film beyond the trailer, when Marmaduke is involved we can guarantee there will be plenty of messes and laughs. And of course, he’ll have some ruff rough competition on his way to the top at the dog show.

Netflix

Created by Bran Anderson in 1954 as a comic, Marmaduke has been wreaking havoc for decades and has appeared in over 600 newspapers around the world. This new film is the first part of the brand’s relaunch, according to FirstShowing.net, in which more merchandise, films and a TV series is in the works.

Along with Pete Davidson, you’ll also hear the voices of J.K. Simmons, David Koechner, Jason Anthony and Shelby Young. You don’t have to wait much longer to catch the lovable dog. Marmaduke will drop on Netflix on May 6 and has a run time of just 88 minutes, which more than qualifies it for Netflix’s new “short ass movies” category.
