Green Drop Garage, Portland’s eco-friendly car repair shop announces Big Truck Day 2018. Big Truck Day is a free community event featuring trucks of all shapes and sizes. They’ll be trucks that take people into the air, trucks that go over large rocks and boulders, trucks that dump and trucks that put out fires. Kids and adults can climb aboard the trucks, explore and meet the individuals who operate them.

In addition to big trucks, there will be games, music, food trucks and ice cold treats from Stellar Pop. It’s sure to be an afternoon of summer fun for the entire family.

The event will be held Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Green Drop Garage’s Moreland location located at 5321 SE 28th Ave. Portland Oregon.

Celebrate the art and fun of puppeteering with free family activities before a free screening of the original Muppet Movie! Make crafty puppets at the Armory Center for the Arts tent, engage with roving puppeteers, play in the puppet theater for photo ops, enjoy free face-painting, groove to DJ Glenn Red, and grab a free ice cream from Paradis (while supplies last)!

Bring your crew, enjoy a swim and celebrate summer at Tukwila Pool!

Join Tukwila Pool for their “Every 3rd Saturday” event featuring Cardboard Boat Races in the lap pool. Crew members are encouraged to arrive early for race registration at 12:30pm. Event begins promptly at 1pm.
Together with staff and volunteers, crew members will construct cardboard boat creations from 1pm – 2 pm, followed by races at 2:15 pm. Event concludes with an awards ceremony at 3 pm.

The Water Resources Education Center’s annual Sturgeon Festival will bring a splash of excitement to kids of all ages with a live reptile show, fish dissections, birds of prey and hands-on activities!
