Apple’s Newest iPhones Were Basically Made for Busy Moms

Trending Now

Have you’ve ever wondered how moms survived without smartphones? (Yeah, we don’t know either!) Luckily, Apple’s new iPhones have landed and there are a few updated and new features that seem like they were tailor-made for moms.

At Apple’s iPhone event on Wednesday, Apple CEO Tim Cook was pleased as punch to announce three new iPhones: the iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and the iPhone XR. Here’s what we’re loving about the new iPhones.

1. Siri Shortcuts

As a mom, you probably juggle about 20 different tasks in the span of minutes any given school morning. Now Siri can  take some of that to-do list off your hands with the new Shortcuts app. When the new iOS 12 rolls out on Sep. 17, you’ll be able to essentially program Siri to execute a series of commands.

Turn off your smart home lights, set the thermostat to 78 degrees and cue a playlist to start playing when you get in the car—all by giving Siri a single verbal command.

2. Fabulous Family Photos

Forget shelling out hundreds of dollars for a family photo shoot. With the newest camera features in iOS 12, your iPhone pics will look like a professional photographer captured them. On the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max, an adjustable depth of field will make your snapshots pop after you take them by keeping the subject in focus against blurred background.

With more low-light detail and sharper action shots with zero shutter lag, you’ll actually be able to capture a great photo of your always-moving tots.

3. Go Ahead—Make a Splash

Trying to snap that Insta-worthy beach shot of your kids and you get taken out taken out by a rogue wave? No problem. The new iPhones are splash and water-resistant, for up to two meters deep for 30 minutes of submersion. No more bags of rice needed. These new iPhones can also withstand spilled coffee, tea or that always-leaky sippy cup.

4. No More Cracked Screens

The new iPhones feature some of the most durable glass ever seen on a smartphone, which means you no longer have to hold your breath overtime you let your toddlers handle your phone.

5. Longer Battery Life

The new iPhone Xs boasts a full 30 minutes of longer battery life than its predecessors, which means when your baby falls asleep on your chest, you don’t have to worry that your battery will cut out before naptime ends.

Apple fans can pre-order their new iPhone Xs and iPhoneXs Max today, while the iPhone XR will be available for preorder beginning Oct. 19, with in-store availability for all three phones just a week after each pre-order date.
