You spent summer splashing around Stafford Park, picnicked and played at Washington Park, and ventured to the Junior Museum & Zoo at Rinconada Park. Now what? Time to check out the Peninsula’s hidden gems. They may be just around the corner from your house or a few short miles from your family’s favorite hood. Either way, these (formerly) secret spots are worth exploring!

Hidden Villa Farm, Los Altos

Why it’s great: There’s an edible organic garden so you can finally stop telling your flower-eating toddler no. Plus, you can upload a foodie photo on Instagram and pretend like you’re dining out at a restaurant in the city rather than taking a cooking class on a suburban farm. If the family is feeling really adventurous, cow milking and bird hikes are just a few of many activities on this 1,600-acre farm.

Where: 26870 Moody Rd., Los Altos Hills

Good to know: It’s located 30 minutes or less from anywhere in the Peninsula and is well worth the short drive.
