2022 is almost here! While it’s always fun to pop open the sparkling cider and break out the silly string at home, there are lots of kid-friendly New Year celebrations happening around Seattle too. The best part? These daytime New Year’s activities and celebrations let families ring in the New Year at a reasonable hour. Read on to get this party started!

New Year's Eve Countdown at KidsQuest

For an all-day celebration, join the staff of KidsQuest as they ring in 2022. Activities will happen every hour ensuring the delight and joy never ends for your kids. Kids can explore Celebration Cyclones, get moving with a sensational story time and get popping with the famous bubble wrap stomp. Tickets are required, and families can reserve times at 10 a.m., noon or 2, 4 and 6 p.m. to celebrate.

Noon Year's Eve at KiDiMu
Put a scenic ferry ride on your list of New Year's Eve activities and make your way to Bainbridge Island for this kid-friendly celebration. Kids will have a chance to play at the museum, sure, but the highlights of the day include fireworks science and New Year's-themed crafts. Add in a celebratory countdown to noon to get 2022 started in the right direction. You'll need tickets to attend.

Noon Year's Eve Countdown
Fairy tales and dragons are the focus of this Noon Year’s Eve celebration at the Hands on Children’s Museum in Olympia. Dress up as your favorite fairy tale character and ring in the new year early with a Noon Year’s countdown, dance party, ball drop and parade every hour throughout the day. Meet a Celtic princess, enjoy exciting fairy tale and dragon activities and watch inspiring Dr. Science demos. Be sure to make your online reservations soon.

Rockin' Rockfish Noon Year's Eve
Everyone is invited to join the staff at Seattle Aquarium for their second annual Noon Year’s Eve celebration. It's a super-fun way to welcome 2022 with new animals, music and dances—even more fun than last year. The event will be hosted by Diana Cardiff and Jasmine Williams, with music from Mikey the Rad Scientist. Plus kids can learn amazing facts about some of the animals at the Seattle Aquarium.  Whether you’re planning an early night or you’d just like to get a jump on your celebration, this virtual party will offer plenty of fun for all ages.

New Year's Eve Fiesta
2022 is almost here and that's as good a reason as any to celebrate with a kid-friendly cooking class. Welcome 2022 with color, style and flavor—with an afternoon fiesta for kids ages 8-14. The flavors of Mexico take center stage in this drop-off class. Kids will toast to the end of 2021 with homemade tacos and guacamole, fiesta surprise cupcakes and sparkling apple cider. Be sure to register in advance for this class. Psst! This event is offered at the Kirkland location at the same time.

Princess Noon Year's Eve Party
Princess fans of all ages will jump at the chance to celebrate the new year at noon with their favorite princesses! Kids will enjoy games, crafts, snacks, a grand celebration and more as the princesses from The Painted Palace countdown to 2022 at noon. Tickets are required for all children over the age of 2, and one adult may attend along with each paid child ticket.

New Year’s Eve at the Needle
For over thirty years, Seattle-area families have been ringing in the new year with North America's largest structurally-launched fireworks displays. T-Mobile New Year's at the Needle will bring all new surprises when the clock strikes midnight to ring in 2022 in a hybrid presentation. While fireworks will be live this year, the show will be augmented so families can safely "stream in the new year" from home. If you watch from home, expect special effects, digital animations and stunning visuals synched to music to make the event extra special, and super easy to watch even if you kiddos are fast alseep.
