On the hunt for the best family restaurants in downtown Seattle, but don’t want to go to an over-priced tourist trap? We have the answer! Check out these five spots for cheap eats in downtown Seattle with your kids.

MOD Super Fast Pizza
The “Super Fast” part caught your attention, didn’t it? MOD is all about making delicious pizza fast. But don’t expect low-quality food as a result. Each pizza is made to order with fresh ingredients that will make your parenting-mind happy! MOD will also make your wallet happy – each pizza is $6.28 and you can get a little side salad for another $3. Located at 1302 Sixth Avenue or online at www.modpizza.com

Three Girls Bakery
Just reopened in June 2011, Three Girls Bakery is a delicious kid-friendly dining option when you’re on the Pike Place side of downtown. Between hearty, fresh sandwiches, delicious soups (the chili is amazing!) and house-made breads, it will be hard to decide what to order! There are many options for kids and the staff is so friendly and welcoming to little customers. Don’t forget to take some fresh baked goods home to enjoy later. Located at 1514 Pike Place in Post Alley.

Sweet Iron Waffles
It doesn’t have to be breakfast time for you to enjoy one of these yummy waffles from Sweet Iron Waffles! For about $5, you can get anything from a sweet waffle with strawberries and whipped cream to a plain waffle dipped in chocolate to a savory waffle with brie and basil. Mom and dad will love that Sweet Iron serves delicious coffee from Stumptown too! Located on Third Avenue between University and Seneca or online at www.sweetironwaffles.com

World Fresh Asian Eatery
If you’re downtown during the week and need a spot to grab lunch with the family, stop by hidden gem World Fresh Eatery. With two locations downtown, this Asian food buffet is amazing – they have so many dishes to pick from and they are all truly fresh and delicious. You pay by the pound, which is nice for dining with kids because you can just get and pay for the amount of food you want. Two locations – Union Square at Sixth Avenue and Union or Seattle Tower on Third Avenue between Seneca and University. Please note that World Fresh is only open between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm, weekdays. Find them online at www.worldfreshseattle.com.

Purple Café and Wine Bar
We know that you might want to keep Purple to yourselves as a special date night spot, but it’s also a great spot to take kids downtown. Purple is very accommodating to children and they have a fantastic kids menu, including a milk sampling! We still suggest you only go to Purple with reservations, but if you’re headed downtown for a show at the 5th Avenue or a planned outing, put Purple on your list for somewhere the entire family will love. Located at 1225 Fourth Avenue and online at www.thepurplecafe.com.

Are any of these your favorite downtown dining spot? Tell us what you love to order there!
