Seattle Drum School

The Bass(ics): If your kid wants to thrash away on the sticks like Animal in the Muppets, this is the perfect place! But don’t be fooled by the name, Seattle Drum School is more than just drums (although drums are mega-cool, just ask Animal). Your kiddo can learn banjo, piano and much more, including recording technology. With locations in Georgetown and North Seattle, private lessons start at age 3 (it all depends on when your young musician is ready). Rock band camps are available in the summer for ages 7 & up. Campers take to the stage at Seattle Drum School’s own venue, The SLAB (a former funeral home). Psst... There’s rock band class for kids 10 & up, and the SDS Drum Corps Program that performs in festivals, parades and competitions.

The Beat: Banjo, bass, drums (of course), guitar, piano, recording technology, trombone, trumpet, ukulele, voice and woodwinds are offered.

Band Camp: Rock Band Camp is available for kids ages 7-9 and 10-17; Drum Camp is offered for ages 10-17.
