If you’ve got a kiddo with the wiggles, set your sights on the only century-old spiegeltent in Seattle for a morning of rock, cirque and wonder at Teatro ZinZanni’s Big Top Rock: Rock This Way. This latest production in ZinZanni’s Big Top Rock series is a one-hour extravaganza that mixes classic rock songs with over-the-top circus arts, guaranteed to delight the kid in all of us.

It’s All About the Kids
From the start of the show, the youngest in the audience will be treated like VIPs! Tykes are given standing room, front-row access to the excitement and encouraged to rock out with their fellow four-footers underneath the big top. With a quick safety talk—there’s a lot of moving parts and action happening all around them throughout the show—the lights dim, the band starts to play and the spectacle begins!

Generations of Talent!
This isn’t just a kid’s show; it’s a kids’ show! Rockers, dancers and young performers with Cirque in their blood (some of whose parents appear in the current ZinZanni show Be Italian) are part of the cast, which makes this truly an event to be experienced by the younger crowd. In keeping with their educational programming, ZinZanni casts kids who aren’t much older than their audience, which is an excellent experience for them and extra special for the kids they’re performing for, who get to see people like themselves in action, on stage and kicking some tail!

Get into the Groove
This show may be all about the kids, but the adults aren’t left in the dust. While little VIPs are rockin’ on the dance floor, grownups will be singing along to familiar tunes by Queen, Led Zeppelin, Blondie and even Journey. The ZinZanni house band, Jen Ayers + The Parkway Boys, nails these classics with ease and makes the experience most excellent for all in attendance.

Look Up! Up in the Sky!
These performers know how to handle a young crowd. Taking advantage of every corner of this theater-in-the-round, the show draws attention one way while the cast and crew have something up their sleeve and in the sky! As the story of Rock This Way unfolds, you will learn that some of the characters have secret talents, and boy, are they talents! Psst… you’ll never see more mouths agape and all eyes on the sky like when aerialists Ling Rui, on aerial straps, and Duo Madrona, on the trapeze, take flight. Your kids will be pretty impressed, too!

How Refreshing
While Teatro ZinZanni’s evening shows feature a five-course meal, things are a bit more laid back for the family shows, but no less tasty. The lobby bar serves up fruit punches with bendy straws, Top Pot Doughnuts, healthy snacks, coffee and a full bar for the grownups in tow.
