Zach Montana was delighted his dad gave him some music to listen to while driving his car. A budding musician himself, he always appreciates a good riff, but his mind was utterly blown when he realized how good the song was––and that it was his dad singing.

So he did what every young person does: he took it to TikTok. In a now viral video, Montana shares, “My dad put music in here, and I was enjoying it and I found out that he wrote it in the 70’s and it’s really f*** good! Listen to this.”

Almost immediately Zach begins motioning with his hands as if his mind is blown. “It’s disco, but it’s so good,” he nearly screams. “That’s him singing, too!”

What follows is nearly two minutes of Zach basically adoring the amazingness that is his dad––who full confession, is William “Curly” Smith and was actually the drummer for Boston and has played with Bette Midler, Rick Springfield and Bonnie Raitt, according to TODAY Parents.

Zach continues with hilarious one liners like “There’s a horn section, just wait,” to “He never released it! I’m so mad at him!”

It appears this son’s love for his dad’s talent paid off. Now, two months later “Surrender To Me” actually has been released and has over 1M streams on Spotify.

Not only that, Zach and his dad have made the media rounds and made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live where the two actually performed the song.

So what’s next? Montana shares that while is dad has gotten back in the music game, he’s more excited about how this will help his son move up in the industry.

“Of course, my dad is more excited about what it means for me. He’s like, ‘This is gonna get your music so much attention.’ That’s what kind of person he is….It’s just incredible. He’s always been an amazing father — the best I could possibly ask for. This experience has only brought us closer together.”
