Trending Now

With the holidays right around the corner, we’ve whipped up a kitchy little decoration that is festive, simple and inexpensive to make. All you need is an old bundt pan and a bit of embellishments to create one yourself. Scroll down for a simple how-to.

You will need:

A bundt pan

Spray paint (optional)

Glue (this could be optional depending on your materials)

Bling: buttons, bows, sprigs, washi tape, glitter deer or anything you want to use to fancy it up,

Step 1: Color

If you have a copper or even a “silver” pan and you like the way that looks, you don’t need to worry about painting. Our thrift store score pan was a ’70s shade of yellow so it was a perfect candidate for repainting. (But no judgments if you want to go with that color. Ours was scratched.)

We chose an ivory spray paint: make sure you get the kind that will adhere to metal (or plastic if your bundt pan is meant more as a jello mold). Spray and let dry.

You and the kids can scour the sewing box/junk drawer/toy chest for little items to add to the wreath. Or go for a stroll in the nearest park and gather a few fresh evergreens and mini-pinecones. This is how you make your wreath unique. If it’s an ornate copper bundt pan, perhaps all you need is a little holiday ribbon. Or maybe you want to glue tiny hot wheels cars on it. You go! We used two kinds of washi tape and fashioned a little ornament (all decor items purchased at Target for less than $10 total).

Step 3: Ribbon
You will use the ribbon to hang the pan up. If you want to get fancy and drill holes you can do that, too, but we chose to just use a wide ribbon as the “hook” for the wreath.

Step 4: Revel
What a great job you did. Hang your wreath up and enjoy it. The bundt pan-ness of it makes it perfect for a kitchen door or wall, too.
