Little tree-huggers, take note: Earth Day is on Wednesday April 22, and there are loads of LA activities that will educate while you celebrate. From river cleanups to festivals, a party with Fairy Mother Earth and super blooming hikes, here are our 15 favorite ways to hop on the reduce/reuse/recycle (eco-friendly electric) bus.

LA River Clean Up

The Friends of the Los Angeles River (FOLAR) invites everyone to come out for a work party down by the river. The LA River used to be a lush and green flowing river through the heart of the city, but had become more of a concrete path. Efforts have been underway for a while to re-green the river (and it shows!), and you can help. Learn more about this event.

When: April 15, 22 & 29 from 9 a.m.-noon
Where: Banks of the LA River, check the website for details.
