Hasbro has just announced a brand new interactive touring experience called NERF Challenge and it’s unlike anything you’ve experienced.

NERF Challenge is filled with all kinds of unique interactive stations like a 4,500 square foot NERF arena, colossal foosball, a game of wrecking ball bowling where you become a human wrecking ball and a Ninja-style soft play obstacle course.

“Simply stated this is 50,000 square feet of over the top, zany, active play for all ages. At NERF Challenge, we have created a world of fun-filled, gamified play between parents and children, siblings, friends, and new friends,” said Mark Manuel, CEO at Kilburn Live.

“This is something NERF fans have been dreaming about for decades, and with our partners at Hasbro, we are finally able to bring this adrenaline-filled event to life. We are putting guests into the ultimate action-sports experience. This will be pure, 100% fun, active play at its finest!”

The touring event will debut in Los Angeles at the Event Deck at L.A. Live starting on Dec. 7 and running through Jan. 5, 2020. It will then move on to other cities across the United States and Canada which have not been announced yet.

Kilburn Live, which has partnered with Hasbro on this event, anticipates a high demand for tickets but fans can register to receive first access to a limited quantity of tickets for the LA event at NERFChallenge.com. Tickets will go on sale on Oct. 28 for the grand opening at L.A. Live on Dec. 7.

It’s been almost 10 years since we’ve been back to the arena but it’s time to head back to the Hunger Games. Suzanne Collins and Scholastic have just released the title and cover art for the fourth book of the series and it’s a prequel!

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is set to take place 64 years before we ever meet Katniss Everdeen and surrounds the 10th Hunger Games matchup. The announcement took place on Friday, Oct. 4 at New York Comic Con.

Not much is known about the plot, but Collins did say in a statement that the novel will “explore the state of nature, who we are, and what we perceive is required for our survival.” The novel will cover a period known as the Dark Days, a reconstruction period after the war.

The novel will be released May, 19, 2020 so there’s plenty of time to re-read the OG trilogy and catch up on your Panem knowledge. It’s also been reported that Lionsgate already has plans to direct a film based on the novel.

Jack Higgins didn’t graduate to a shower of applause. When the high school senior walked the stage at his Carmel High School graduation, the room was silent—and for a very good reason.

Higgins, who has autism and is extremely sensitive to sound, and his family had concerns about the grad participating in the ceremony. But the Putnam County, New York principal wasn’t going to let Higgins’ sensitivity stop the young man from graduating with his class.

Instead of cheers and thunderous applause, principal Lou Riolo asked the students, families and staff to sit in silence as Higgins accepted his diploma. Riolo told CNN, “It was important to pull this off.” He added, “First off for Jack, second for his family who could experience the same event as every other parent/family whose child reaches this milestone was of great importance. Lastly to give the opportunity to everyone in that arena a chance to assist in making one young man’s and his families graduation dreams a reality.”

When it came time for Higgins to walk the stage at Western Connecticut State University’s O’Neill Center (where Carmel High School held its graduation), Higgins got a standing ovation—without a single sound.

Even though Riolo and his staff planned the silent part, they hadn’t said a word to the students about standing. The principal told CNN, “They are a class act and superseded expectations. For example them rising to their feet after Jack received his diploma was them. It was not preplanned and no one told them to act like that that. They felt compelled to show their support in that way. They made that amazing compassionate gesture on their own.”

The late show host and now-third-time author is back at it again. Jimmy Fallon’s newest children’s book, This Is Baby, is due next October!

Picture book-loving parents (or at least those who have kiddos who can’t stop reading) may already know Fallon’s first two books well. His 2015 book Your Baby’s First Word Will Be Dada and his follow-up Everything Is Mama featured Fallon’s trademark humor, delighting tots and their parents too.

His newest venture into the kid lit arena takes on the human body and the basic vocab needed to talk about it. In a statement to PEOPLE,  the author/host/father poked fun at his newest book theme saying, “I was gonna write a book called There’s Nothing Worse Than Installing a Car Seat, but this was a much cuter topic.”

This Is Baby is perfect for the littlest of littles, helping them to learn about the body through easy-to-understand text and artwork (by Miguel Ordóñez). The picture book, published by Feiwel & Friends, is set to debut on Oct. 8, 2019.

When one mom saw a gap in children’s edutainment, she decided to do something about it. The now-Emmy nominated bilingual series, Canticos on Nickelodeon, is the brainchild of mom Susan Jaramillo. This is a show your tot totally needs.

With brightly-colored bilingual animals that sing traditional Spanish-language lullabies, Canticos is something that didn’t exist in the children’s programming arena prior to Jaramillo. The cute characters first appeared in a set of bilingual board books, published by Jaramillo, her friend Nuria Santamaria-Wolfe and Santamaria-Wolfe’s husband Steven Wolfe-Pereira. Soon after, the trio used Jaramillo’s connections as a top marketing exec to pitch and eventually seal a deal with Nickelodeon.

Jaramillo told NBC News, “Nuria and I shared a frustration over the lack of available bilingual books and media available for children. It really became a shared passion and mission.” The mama, marketing maven and entrepreneur also added, “We wanted to bring all these wonderful stories and songs that were so popular throughout the Spanish-speaking world to new audiences, so Americans would also appreciate all these wonderful songs.”

Canticos debuted on Nick Jr.’s digital platforms in 2018. Your kiddo can meet the lovable bilingual animated animals on NickJr.com, Nick’s YouTube channel, the NOGGIN app and Nickelodeon’s paid subscription app. Nickelodeon is also reportedly working on a consumer products line featuring the Canticos characters for infants and toddlers, set to launch later this year.

According to recent reports, Amazon grocery stores are coming—and soon. The Wall Street Journal recently reported that the online retailer is preparing to open brick-and-mortar stores in several major cities. Bigger news still? They won’t be Whole Foods stores, either.

Amazon has already entered the grocery arena with its stake in Whole Foods Markets and high-tech cashier-less Amazon Go stores. This recent news could mean Amazon’s reported new stores will carry more traditional types of groceries at a lower price point. In other words, something other than those high-priced organics at Whole Foods Market that have earned the store an unfortunately nickname of “Whole Paycheck.”

So when and where can we expect to see these stores? As of now, Amazon is keeping mum on the subject. An Amazon representative told Red Tricycle via email, “Amazon doesn’t comment on rumors or speculation.” So it’s entirely possible these new stores are a no-go—at least according to this official non-comment.

But if the rumors are true, The Wall Street Journal reports the first store opening in Los Angeles, California by the end of 2019. The Journal’s source also added Amazon is considering opening additional grocery store locations in San Francisco as well as Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Chicago, Illinois; Seattle, Washington and Washington, D.C.

Uh Oh: Whole Foods Is Raising Prices. Here’s Why

No matter how much your sweet baby adores you, there will inevitably come a time when your kid is utterly embarrassed by you. What’s the best thing to do when that moment comes? Embrace it. If possible, on a jumbo screen, like this awesome moment when a mom embarrassed her teen son.

In the midst of a timeout during a Maryland Terrapins and Loyola Greyhounds basketball game, the Fan Cam happened to find just the right mom to entertain the crowds. Mom Mandy Remmell was clearly ready to belt one out when Kelly Clarkson’s “Since You’ve Been Gone” began playing on the P.A. Much to her son’s horror, she uses her cellphone as a mic as she sings along to the song while the entire arena watches and cheers.

Remmell’s son might not have enjoyed the performance as he tried to hide in his hoodie, but she definitely gained one big fan. Kelly Clarkson spotted the video after it went viral on Twitter and applauded her amazing talents as a singer and mom.

Priceless.

With The Toy Association’s 116th North American International Toy Fair behind us, it’s time for parents to look to the future of 2019 toy trends. What types of toys are about to end up on your kiddo’s wish list?

According to Ken Seiter, executive vice president of marketing communications at The Toy Association, “Parents and kids today are looking for toys and games that are fun, engaging, and keep them coming back for more, but that also enrich the play value to help build lifelong skills.”

Check out the Toy Association’s picks for types of toys that will accomplish these goals and much more!

Unboxing

The unboxing trend hit hard last year, providing kids with a special “surprise” factor during play-time. The Toy Association’s top trends includes this past favorite—but on a whole new level. Using secret decoders or packaging that doubles as a playset in itself will add to experience, making unboxing a winner in 2019.

Compound Craziness

Yet another last year-turned this year pick, compounds are still in. Slime, kinetic sand, dough, putty and other similar open-ended (and awesomely experiential) toys are hot in 2019. But that’s not all. This year you’ll find compounds combining with unboxing toys for a hide-and-seek style, dig-through hunt type of toy.

Throwback Toys

Everything old is new again. Nostalgia is big in 2019. Look for toys from your own childhood or play picks your parents may have made back in the day.

Foodie Fun

Fab foodie finds are making their way into the top toy trends of the year. Whether you want your tot to learn about nutrition, responsibly sourced food or another food-related idea, you’ll find it in the toy aisle. This year will also bring plenty of food-scented selections, ranging from fun fruity smells to not-so-nice gross-out odors.

Inspirational Play

What does your child want to be when they grow up? Toys in this hot category will help them to explore their decisions. Along with inspiring your kiddo to reach their dreams, these toys also teach STEAM concepts as they help to nurture your little one’s natural sense of curiosity.

Even More Entertainment Tie-Ins

With a slew of sequels and live-action reboots in the kid-focused film arena, 2019’s top toy trends include plenty of licensed games and other products. Favorite characters from Toy Story 4, The Lion King and other highly anticipated flicks will make their way into plushes, playsets and much more.

When it comes to toys in 2019, one thing is clear—your kiddo is going to want absolutely everything! And with so many imaginative, educational, inspirational and just plan amazing toys available, why wouldn’t they?

People Who Work in These Industries Are More Likely to Have an Affair

The specter of on-the-clock cheating (or cheating after-hours with a co-worker or client) exists prevalently in pop culture (Mad Men, Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy, Fatal Attraction…. The list goes on and on and on).

And while cheaters can certainly pop up in a wide range of professions, data shows that 13 fields have a higher percentage of self-confessed adulterers in their numbers than others.

Ashley Madison, the infamous dating site that specializes in setting members up for extra-marital affairs, polled the career status of its membership base and generated a report on the careers most likely to attract wandering spouses, which was published by Business Insider. While Ashley Madison did observe differences between the careers of male members and female members, 13 careers emerged as particularly prominent among this cheat-happy population.

13. Politics

Only 1 percent of Ashley Madison’s female members work in politics. And (much to our surprise) less than 1 percent of male members admit to a career in the political sphere.

12. Arts & Entertainment

Women in the arts (actors, musicians, writers, producers, directors, etc) represent 4 percent of Ashley Madisonians and a slightly-lower number of members (3 percent) are men working in the same arena.

11. Agriculture

Men involved in farming and related fields account for 3 percent of Ashley Madison members, while women in the field don’t represent a notable percentage of Ashley Madison participants.

10. Legal

Women in the legal field—whether lawyers, paralegals, judges or aides—comprise 4 percent of Ashley Madison members. Meanwhile, 4 percent of male members also cop to working in law.

9. Marketing & Communications

Marketing professionals require strong interpersonal skills and talent for socializing—and some may take these talents to the extreme, based on Ashley Madison membership numbers. 4 percent of female members and 6 percent of male members work in the communications field.

8. Social Work

According to Ashley Madison’s findings, 2 percent of male members work in the social work field and 9 percent of female members do the same.

7. Retail & Hospitality

An industry famous for promoting socialization and outgoing interactions, retail & hospitality claims 9 percent of Ashley Madison’s female members and 8 percent of its male members.

6. Finance

The image of the slick, aggressively non-monogamous Wall Street tycoon is a common one throughout movie and TV history and Ashley Madison reveals some potential truth to the stereotype: 8 percent of male members and 9 percent of female members work in finance.

5. Education

Men working in education—whether as teachers, professors, administrators or visiting lecturers—account for 4 percent of Ashley Madison members…but that number skyrockets when looking at the number of female educators who signed up for the site (12 percent).

4. Entrepreneurship

Those who choose to strike out on their own and start businesses also may, in some cases, be prone to imaginative concepts of fidelity; for both male and female Ashley Madison members, entrepreneurship proved the fourth most popular career choice.

3. Information Technology

Women working in I.T. support represent 8 percent of Ashley Madison members, while their male counterparts make up 12 percent.

2. Medical

As it turns out, Grey’s Anatomy may be onto something. 23 percent of female Ashley Madison members work in the medical field as doctors or nurses, while 5 percent of male members do the same.

1. Trades

Professions like construction, plumbing and welding feature more flexible and unpredictable schedules than traditional 9-to-5 positions, which, according to communications director Isabella Mise of Ashley Madison, [makes it easier for people] to fly under the radar when it comes to sneaking around with an affair partner. 4 percent of female Ashley Madison members work trade jobs, while that number rises to a full 29 percent in the male-membership pool.
