Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, a gourmet ice cream company launched in Columbus, Ohio, in 2002, opened its first local scoop shops in Carlsbad and is planning to open its second in North Park later this year. The midwestern favorite offers out-of-the-box flavors like Everything Bagel and Powdered Jelly Donut as well as classics like Brambleberry Crisp to Gooey Butter Cake. Jeni’s concocts its flavors using direct and fair trade ingredients, without artificial coloring. The James Beard award-winning ice cream maker has written two cookbooks and she was at the forefront of the American, artisanal ice cream movement. Be prepared for a long line, but the frozen treat is worth the wait.

Looking for a cool spot for family date night? Salt & Straw isn’t your average ice cream shop by any stretch. The family-run business conjures up wildly imaginative San Diego-specific flavors made using ingredients from local businesses. Made locally in small batches, their ice creams combine local, organic and sustainable ingredients into unique flavors you can’t find anywhere else. Their menu has two parts: permanent fixtures (called “classics”) that are so beloved they remain year-round and a selection of limited-time flavors that rotate each month. Classics here include Honey Lavender (a delightfully light purple-hued treat), Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons (featuring hand-burned caramel with a deep, rich flavor you won’t find in your grocery aisle) and Chocolate Gooey Brownie (hot chocolate ice cream with hearty chunks of chewy brownie). Journey off the beaten ice cream path and try a new and delicious frozen treat at SomiSomi. Known as Ah-Boong in Korea, this Taiyaki soft serve is a culinary art form. With that in mind, we’ve rounded up some of the most beautiful botanical gardens and flower fields near LA to take your family for the day (with most of them being free!). So whether you want to stop and smell the roses, discover a waterfall, or gawk at some peacocks, these spectacular garden spots around LA are blooming with possibilities.

Botanical Gardens in LA Worth Visiting with Free Admissions

Arlington Garden

Arlington Garden in Pasadena is a climate-appropriate, water-conserving, habitat garden offering learning and inspiration to all its guests. Its mission is to promote urban wildlife habitat and demonstrate the use of regenerative gardening techniques which refrain from the use of herbicides, pesticides and chemical fertilizers.

Through Stoneview's meditative garden spaces, inspiring artwork, urban nature walks, Demonstration Garden, and Community Kitchen, guests gain a new understanding and respect of their environment by making positive connections with their bodies, minds, food, communities and ecosystems.

Insider Tip: Every Sat. at 10 a.m. and at noon, the nature center holds a free, weekly program where kids can meet and learn more about the park from the Natural Area Superintendents.

The Japanese Garden

After a lengthy closure, The Japanese Garden in Van Nuys has finally reopened to the public—this spot also makes our list of incredible places around LA you've probably never been. We certainly could all use a little zen right now and this is the perfect place to find it. With 6.5 acres that include a meditation garden, Tortoise Island, Wisteria Arbor, breathtaking waterfalls, a Water Garden, beautiful bridges and lanterns throughout the property, you’ll instantly be transported to Japan.

Insider Tip: While the garden alone is worth the visit, once life returns to normal, come back and make reservations for tea service at the Shoin Building—an authentic 4 1/2 tatami-mat teahouse adjacent to the tea garden.

Botanical Gardens in LA Worth the Price of Admission

LA Arboretum & Botanical Gardens

Discover roaming peacocks, hidden trails, sunbathing turtles and more at this 127-acre oasis in Arcadia. With wide open spaces to romp and run, as well as countless paths to explore, kids will zonk out by the time you get back in the car – you’re welcome. If the crew gets hungry during your visit, grab a bite at the Arboretum Peacock Cafe or bring food from home and enjoy it in the picnic area outside the Arboretum. While the waterfall is on everyone’s must-see list, the best way to check it out is to take the steps down through it. Make your way to Tallac Knoll, where you'll discover the lily pond and a meandering set of steps and walkways that takes you to the waterfall at the bottom.

Insider Tip: If you venture through the Madagascar Spiny Forest or along the Aloe Trail (both noted on the Arboretum's map), you'll happen upon a tangle of ancient trees, roots and branches made for climbing.

Descanso Gardens

Travel about 15 miles north of DTLA to discover this 160-acre garden in La Cañada Flintridge. You could easily spend all day wandering the grounds, which include the majestic Oak Forest with trees hundreds of years old, the serene Japanese-style garden with its shaded paths and koi-filled stream, and the Children's Maze, located just beyond the rose garden. In late March, be sure to check out the tulips, camellias, irises, lilacs and cherry trees, which are all in bloom. During your trip, don’t miss a ride on the Enchanted Railroad – a 1/8^th- scale replica of a diesel train that travels a section of the Gardens near the Promenade. Riders must be at least 30 inches tall and able to ride on their own. Be sure check the website ahead of time to make sure the train is operating the day of your visit.

Insider Tip: Behind the Sturt Haaga Gallery, you'll find the tucked-away Hope’s Garden. Venture up a set of stairs for amazing views. Afterward, take the stairs down to the Camellia Forest and you’ll find yourself immersed in the garden.

The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens

The pristine Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens is home to 16 themed gardens spread across 120 acres. The whimsical Helen and Peter Bing Children’s Garden is a prime highlight of any family visit and encourages imaginative play as littles splash in the water, romp and run among topiary animals, discover fairy doors, and even hold the magic of magnetic forces in their tiny hands. Kids will want to check out the Lily Ponds (home to turtles, bullfrogs and turtles, bullfrogs and ducks); the tropical Jungle Garden with its canopy of trees, giant leaves and climbing vines; and the Chinese Garden where you can wander behind a waterfall and across bridges.

Insider Tip: The 15-acre Chinese Garden is a definite must-see regardless of how much time you have to spend. In addition to the meandering paths and waterfall, be sure to explore the Stargazing Tower, situated on the highest point in the garden with breathtaking views.

South Coast Botanic Garden

Located on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, the South Coast Botanic Garden boasts 87 acres and features more than 2,500 different species of plants. Kids will love climbing the limbs and tree roots in the Banyan Grove and playing tag on the sprawling Upper Meadow.

Good to Know: The SOAR exhibit in the Host and Nectar Garden runs Apr. 1 – Jul. 31 where kids get to interact with the butterfly habitat and learn about the emergence of new species. Also, worth your time is the exhbit, Hide and Seek: Art Meets Nature. Spring is in the air, and between the cherry blossoms and spring blooms in our city gardens, there are oh-so-many reasons to get the kids outside. Lucky for us, our community has a basketful of parks and gardens filled with the most spectacular springtime blooms waiting to inspire your little gardeners. Read on to find the best spots to find spring flowers and cherry blossoms around Seattle.

University of Washington Campus

The University of Washington campus is by far one of the most popular places to view and take pictures with spectacular blooms, especially if cherry blossoms are your jam. If you really want to wow your kids, the Quad is the place to be. You'll find 29 huge cherry trees, planted over 86 years ago. A great spot to capture your crew frolicking around in the beautiful, fluffy pink and white flowers. Don't forget you can celebrate all of the above at the annual Seattle Cherry Blossom & Japanese Cultural Festival, taking place in-person this year, from April 8-10, 2022.

Washington Park Arboretum

Speaking of UW, we would be remiss if we didn’t include the Washington Park Arboretum. Spanning from Madison Park to Montlake, just south of the U District, the Arboretum is alive with flowers this spring, including cherry blossoms, cascading yellow gold chain trees and blooming true ashes. Start your trip outside the Graham Visitor’s Center (open Weds.-Sun., 10 a.m.-4 p.m.), then let the little ones burn off some energy as they explore the more than 200 acres of foot trails, lawns and paths leading to ponds. During your visit, check out the iconic Azalea Way. It’s a 3/4-mile walk through the heart of the Arboretum, chock full of gorgeous flowering plants and trees. You are sure to find a spot or two perfect for snapping some heart-warming pics of your kiddos. Also, consider checking out the gorgeous Seattle Japanese Garden. It just reopened for the season March 1, 2022. Psst…after your shots, don't forget to take advantage of the two-mile Arboretum Loop Trail. It's a perfect stroll for after the camera roll.

Kubota Garden

Rainier Beach’s gorgeous Kubota Gardens was built by Fujitaro Kubota in the late 1920s. Red and purple flowers, including large magnolia blossoms, are on display this time of year. Kiddos can navigate rocks, streams and serene ponds on the 20-acre property. Any of the gardens here provide you with a great photog opportunity, but the Waterfall At Mountainside and the Moon Bridge can also add a nice whimsical air to any Japanese garden-esque springtime shots. View the self-guided tour online to plan out your trip. And if you want to bring Fido along as a prop, dogs are welcome, provided they are on a leash and you clean-up after them. Bonus: It’s free admission to the public.

Insider tip: While bigger kids should be able to freely explore without much trouble, toddlers might need a little help making their way across the garden’s narrow paths and bridges.

Volunteer Park

An almost 50-acre refuge in Capitol Hill, Volunteer Park was designed by the famous Olmstead Brothers in the early 1900s. The park houses the completely renovated Seattle Asian Art Museum that has and a climbable water tower with 365 degree views of the city. Snap up some cutesy kiddo photos throughout the park’s immaculate landscaping and then let the little ones explore the Block play sculpture and playground. Hello, Insta!

Bellevue Botanical Garden

This self-described "urban oasis" easily wears the mantle of "photo-worthy" for Eastside families, but it's definitely worth the drive for Seattle families too. Its 53-acres is divided into eleven smaller gardens, each with a distinct floral theme that makes finding the right spot for your family photo shoot (informal or otherwise) a breeze. Rhododendron Glen is blooming through summer, when the hydrangeas will make themselves known. And the Urban Meadow adds a little pollinator education to its gorgeous and colorful blooms with the Mason Bee exhibit (psst... get the details on how your family can rent mason bees to help pollinators do their job.). It's hard to go wrong at this expansive garden.

Highline SeaTac Botanical Garden

This little-known garden just south of the city is a quiet spot to enjoy spring blooms and take sweet photos of your crew on a warm day. It's open daily from dawn to dusk, and families will find seven distinct garden landscapes on the 11-acre property. Look for draped vines, bodacious blooms and secret bridges as you make your way around the property. It's a great spot to stop and smell the flowers, learn about each garden's history and say cheese.

South Seattle College Arboretum & Seattle Chinese Garden

These gardens, nestled high atop a ridge in West Seattle, count as a two-fer in the land of garden photo-ops. Not only do fragrant, colorful blooms (and stunning views of the Seattle skyline and Elliott Bay) abound at the South Seattle College Arboretum, but you can find equally lovely flowers at the 5-acre Seattle Chinese Garden, located on the north end of the campus. The Arboretum is a “living laboratory” used by college students studying plant (and other) sciences. But it’s also a spot where kids can strike a pose worthy of framing. Parents can find more spots for a photo op at the Seattle Chinese Garden where traditional Chinese architecture blends seamlessly with the dynamic flora and fauna you can find here.

Discovery Park

The largest city park in Seattle, Discovery Park sits in the Magnolia neighborhood on land previously occupied by Fort Lawton. Here, kids can experience woodland trails, open fields and a beach flanked by a lighthouse. If it’s a clear day, both the Olympics and Cascades can be seen from the beach. In addition to blooming plants and wildflowers, an assortment of birds, including mallards, grebes, and—if you’re especially lucky—bald eagles can be spotted in the spring. Between the beach, the mountains, the lighthouse and the flowers in bloom, we are pretty sure your inner Anne Geddes will show through, as Discovery Park has just about everything a spring photo shoot requires. Surrounded by Lake Washington on three sides, south Seattle’s Seward Park offers pristine views of Mount Rainier (a pic with your mini and the mountain? Yes, please!) and plenty of spots for picnics and portraits. A plethora of fresh flowering plants join conifers and ferns in making the park especially beautiful this time of year. Wanting to capture that wilderness vibe? Head on into the Magnificent Forest where the kids can explore Seattle’s biggest block of old-growth trees, with some dating back more than 250 years. Whether a nighttime corn maze, kids corn maze or run of the mill daytime trip through the towering corn stalks is what you’re after, we’ve got a just-right corn maze for your crew below. Read on!

Carpinito Brothers Farm

As one of the closest corn mazes to Seattle, Carpinito Brothers goes all out each year with their corn mazes. They say that the secret is aliens, but we are not so sure. This year's huge canvas's theme is all about football. What could be more exciting than the UW vs. WSU rivalry? Trying to find your way out of this pigskin-themed maze, that's what. Other farm activities include a hay maze, goat walk and farm animals galore. The corn maze is only open in the daytime and the last admission is at 6 p.m.

Bonus: You can combine all of your fall activities into one trip to Carpinito Brothers. Pick up pumpkins and fall veggies, take pictures with their fun props, travel through the hay maze, watch the duck races, say hello to the farm's furry friends and enjoy their fab concessions, (hot roasted corn, anyone?) too.

Bob’s Corn & Pumpkin Farm

This year at Bob’s Corn & Pumpkin Farm, the ginormous maze will have you twisting and turning through geometric paths that lead to the center of Bob’s 12-acre field. For new maze explorers who aren’t ready to tackle the whole 12-acres on their own (or at all), they offer two kids’ mazes that are equally impressive, and will keep little ones engaged at "stations” they find along the trail. We love the special rope maze that allows kids to try to find their way out in easy view of parents. Other fall festival farm activities include: hayrides, trike track, cow train, big slides, corn crib, an apple cannon and more.

Bonus: Make a night of it at Bob's by reserving one of their 18 fire pits that are scattered along the perimeter of the maze and awesome for get-togethers and marshmallow roasting. If you've got older kids and you’re looking to shake things up a bit, come back at night and give their non-scary Night Owl Maze a try with a trip through the maze and a round of mini golf on Friday and Saturday nights. Picha Farms

While there are two Picha Farms, the family's harvest events are happening at their Puyallup location. Last year they celebrated the release of the Kraken at their five-acre corn maze. The owners at Carleton Farms are pretty humble when describing their Pumpkin Land and Adventure Nights, but there really is a lot to do here in addition to the five-acre corn maze. You'll get a bigger bang for your buck on the weekends, but you'll face smaller crowds during the weekdays. Everyday activities include the 5-acre corn maze, hayrides, game zone, kids bucket train and the Farm Korral that features tube slides, swings, roller slides, a web crawl and punch pumpkins. Each year, this popular farm creates one of the most gorgeous corn mazes in our area, making it well worth the trip to Enumclaw. This year's maze is an homage to the farm itself (it's their 15th anniversary!), including bunny ears, sunflowers and their signature pumpkins ripe for picking. And now for something completely different...Perhaps the cream of the crop of pumpkin festivals is Remlinger Farms which offers over 25 rides and attractions in addition to the corn maze. It's like going to a pumpkin-themed Disneyland! We’re talking a real roller coaster, antique cars (with two steering wheels!), a carousel, flying pumpkins, canoe rides, big swings, big slides and hayrides plus a bunch more. But amongst all this fun, the corn maze should not be passed over. If a pony ride is on your little navigator's radar, be sure to reserve your time in advance.

Navigating Corn Mazes in the time of COVID:
1. Please remember to check COVID policy and safety for each farm before visiting so you know what to expect.

2. Some of these farms require advanced tickets for corn mazes and other farm activities. Be sure you’ve got yours before heading out. They sell out fast!

Safety Suggestions:
1. The buddy system is always key and pairing an adult with each group of kids is a fail-proof way to make it out of the maze without tears. That is, unless, your kids are better at getting through the maze than you are, in which case, the tears may be on your part!

2. Many of the fields have their mazes online–check out their websites before you go and let your kids form a plan, or even create a cheat sheet, to give them some confidence.

3. Teach older kids to use the sun position to keep themselves oriented in the maze–have them take notes of where the sun is when they enter the maze (at their back, for instance) and hopefully it will help them from going in circles or doing unnecessary back-tracking as they go.

Sidelined Pullman Train Car—Plano, IL

Duthie Hill Mountain Bike Park - Issaquah

There’s a reason Duthie Hill is everyone’s go-to spot for loops, turns and berms. It’s the ride of a lifetime where kids of all ages can explore the single track trails that double as kid-powered roller coasters or hang in the hub where they’ll find pump track staples like jumps, berms and rails. Bring a snack and take a break in the picnic shelter to refuel.

Good to know: If biking with your crew sounds like a great way to celebrate, check out the beginner clinics on Mother’s Day or Father’s Day at Duthie Hill.

If you’ve got a beginning biker, this is a great place to start. With a green pump track route and a mountain bike path, kids of all ages can build skills here. It’s hard to go wrong with a spot that named the beginning pump track “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop.” That’s the way to ride on the Eastside.

North SeaTac Park – SeaTac

This south end spot is all about racing. Whether you bring your kids to check out the raucous rolling BMX hills or pack your radio-controlled cars (they’ve got both paved and dirt RC race tracks), this spot will satiate your kiddo’s need for speed. Families can also enjoy the playground, walking trails and many picnic benches scattered around the park.

Good to know: The park is closed to the public during North SeaTac BMX races (starting May 8). Be sure to check the schedule before heading out or bring the kids to get inspired then test out the track yourself.

Torguson - North Bend

If a park with a view, and lots of other things to do is on your list, check out Torguson in North Bend. At the base of Mt. Si, there’s no better place to bring your bikes on a sunny summer day. In addition to the challenging pump track, kids can have a blast at the skate park, test their monkey skills on the climbing tower and then finish the day burning up that last bit of energy at the playground.

Good to know: Littles who are still learning can ride safely on the nearby striders track.

Swan Creek - Tacoma

The Lister Uplands bike park above the Swan Creek Trail in Tacoma is in the process of getting a facelift. While families can fly around loops on the pump track now, they’ll be able to do a lot more once everything is complete at the end of the year. Come back to enjoy the mountain bike trails for a longer adventure, and be sure to bring Fido because a new dog park is in the works too.

Good to know: The Swan Creek Trail (below the Lister Uplands) is a great place to spot salmon when they’re spawning.

If you’re looking for a brand spanking new pump track, it doesn’t get fresher than the Poulsbo Pump Track. This relatively new park just got a redesign to improve flow and ensure riders of all skill levels can ride around its quick turns and wicked hills, thanks to the generosity of local businesses like Agate Asphalt. Plan your Poulsbo day trip any time after the May 4 re-opening to check out the fantastic progressions (they’ve got everything from greens to double blacks here). Fair warning, most parents aren’t content just watching, so bring your bikes to join in the fun.

Good to know: The annual, family-friendly Pumpaplooza celebration is set to take place in June 2021. The group’s Facebook page will have all the details once things are finalized.

Dockton Forest Track – Vashon Island

Hop on the ferry for a Vashon Island adventure! The mountain bike trails of Dockton Forest are calling. Just across from Quartermaster Harbor, you’ll find the forested fun park that pieces together nearly three miles of fat tire-worthy trails. Check out the green trails for beginner riders. The Gravel Grinder is a good beginning loop that riders of all ages can handle. More experienced riders can find daring jumps and berms on quirky trails like Flying Monkey and Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde.

Leavenworth Pump Track - Leavenworth

The next time you and your little pedalheads take to the mountains, stop by Enchantment Park in Leavenworth to ride the sweet pump track there. Surrounded by snowcapped peaks, it’s a bit different than other tracks because it’s asphalt-covered. That means easy riding for scooters and road bikes that don’t sport the fat tire. While you’re there be sure to take in the sights in town and visit the year-round reindeer farm too.

360 Trails – Gig Harbor

A favorite of local riders, this maze of forested trails outside Gig Harbor has something for everyone. The Merry-Go-Round pump track trail is just over the creek and it provides lots of berms and turns that everyone can enjoy. The back of the park is where you’ll find jump lines and drop lines that aren’t for the faint of heart. Pack a lunch to enjoy by the stream after you’re done. And don’t forget to watch out for wildlife along these rural trails.

If you are looking for the perfect day in the great outdoors, this is the list for you. Our friends at AllTrails gave us the scoop on the top 10 hiking trails for families in Dallas and we can’t wait to get out and hit the trail! We know the kids will especially love to hike to the waterfall on the Huck Finn Trail and scope out the butterfly garden on the Cattail Pond Loop Trail. You can even bring Fido along to join in the fun as there are several dog-friendly hikes on the list. Read on for the full list of best hikes for kids in the Dallas and Fort Worth area.

1. Duck Creek Greenbelt Trail

Duck Creek Greenbelt Trail is a moderately trafficked loop trail located near Garland, Texas that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking, running and nature trips, and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. This is a nicely paved concrete loop trail offering lots of shade and wildlife sightings. It is a great family-friendly trail to explore.

Distance: 3.0 miles
Difficulty: Easy

2. Trinity Levee Trail

Trinity Levee Trail is a moderately trafficked loop trail located near Dallas, Texas that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking, running, nature trips, and bird watching and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. This is a flat paved trail with great views and is a popular spot for joggers and bikers. There are lots of opportunities for bird watching and it's a great place for kids to explore.

Distance: 13.9 miles
Difficulty: Easy

3. Crosstimber Trail

Crosstimber Trail is a moderately trafficked loop trail located near Fort Worth, Texas that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and nature trips and is accessible year-round. This is a great hiking route for families and kids. The trail offers a lot of shade and numerous wildlife sightings.

Distance: 3.6 miles
Difficultly: Easy

4. Coppell Nature Park Loop

Coppell Nature Park Loop is a moderately trafficked loop trail located near Coppell, Texas that offers the chance to see wildlife and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, running, and nature trips and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Note: As of May 2020, the last part of this trail is closed, however this trail is still accessible. This loop consists of Callie's Crossing, Pete's Path, Stewart's Stroll, Latta Cut-Off, Marshall Trail Klingeman Trail, and Parish Path.

Distance: 1.7 miles
Difficulty: Easy

5. Huck Finn Trail

Huck Finn Trail is a moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Richardson, Texas that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. This is a shaded, short, family-friendly trail along Prairie Creek that goes by a waterfall.

Distance: 1.4 miles
Difficulty: Easy

6. Riverbottom, Caprock, Prairie and Wild Plum Trail Loop

Riverbottom, Caprock, Prairie and Wild Plum Trail Loop is a moderately trafficked loop trail located near Fort Worth, Texas that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

The Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge is a hidden jewel—a wilderness comprised of forests, prairies, and wetlands reminiscent of how much of the Fort Worth/Dallas Metroplex once looked. Replete with native flora and fauna, this trail beckons to those searching for a tranquil piece of nature.

Distance: 3.9 miles

Arbor Hills Nature Preserve Trail is a heavily trafficked loop trail located near Plano, Texas that features beautiful wildflowers. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. This is a paved loop that connects to several different unpaved trails. It's a great place for kids to explore.

8. Little Bear Creek Trail

Little Bear Creek Trail is a 5 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Euless, Texas that features a river and is good for all skill levels. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

This trail connects multiple Euless parks including Villages of Bear Creek, The Preserve at McCormick Park, Trailwood Park, and Bob Eden Park. The main trail follows Bear Creek. There are multiple places to park, plenty of areas for kids, and a large dog park as well.

9. Cattail Pond Loop

Cattail Pond Loop is a heavily trafficked loop trail located near Cedar Hill, Texas that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, running, and nature trips. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

This trail is very well kept and very well marked. Most of the hike is shaded. There are facilities at the trailhead and also a butterfly garden. This route follows Cattail Pond Trail to Escarpment Trail to Fossil Valley Trail back to Cattail Pond Trail.

Difficulty: Easy

10. Veterans Park Trail

Veterans Park Trail is a moderately trafficked loop trail located near Arlington, Texas that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. This park offers a number of well-maintained paths. There is a small pond as well as gravel and concrete paths for kids and families to enjoy.
