It’s been one year since the release of Disney’s Frozen 2. Now, Frozen Fest is back with exclusive content, digital adventures and new toys, apparel, games, books and more inspired by the films. This year, the highlight of Frozen Fan Fest will be a Virtual Playdate hosted by chef, two-time New York Times best-selling author, entrepreneur, television host and producer, Ayesha Curry, that will air on Oct. 18.

Frozen Fan Fest

The digital event will be available for one day only, offering families the ultimate Frozen 2 experience all from the comfort of home. With a robust schedule of new and curated content, immersive activities and more, participants will also get an exclusive first look at the trailer for Once Upon a Snowman, the new short from Walt Disney Animation Studios, which debuts on Disney+ on Oct. 23.

“I’m thrilled to join in on all of the Frozen Fan Fest fun as the host of the first-ever Frozen Virtual Playdate,” said Ayesha Curry.  “We are big fans of Frozen 2 in our home, and I love that the film celebrates the importance of family, which is something that’s deeply important to me.  I’m overjoyed to be a part of an event that offers families a fun way to spend quality time together, all while enjoying the magic of Arendelle in their homes.”

The Playdate line-up will include activities appealing to Frozen fans of all ages, such as a sing-a-long,  choreographed dance lesson, an American Sign Language tutorial of “Show Yourself,” and the unique opportunity to learn how to draw Olaf with Trent Correy and Dan Abraham, the directors of “Once Upon a Snowman.” Additional segments will feature new apparel, fashion accessories, bedding, toys, costumes and more from Hasbro, Jakks Pacific, H&M, Hanna Andersson, Party City, Franco Manufacturing, shopDisney.com and the LEGO Group. Guest appearances will include social influencers and Frozen fans, as well as stars from Frozen: the hit Broadway Musical North American Tour, Radio Disney’s Cameron McLeod and Jason Maybaum from Disney Channel’s Raven’s Home.

“Since audiences were first introduced to the kingdom of Arendelle seven years ago, Frozen has become universally beloved,” said Kareem Daniel, president, Disney Consumer Products, Games and Publishing. “As fans around the world continue to seek out ways to step into this iconic story, we are thrilled to expand this experience – meeting consumers where they are by bringing new products and digital content to life for families at home.”

Frozen Fan Fest kicked off on Oct. 12, in EMEA with a “Frozen Fashion Week,” a series of short fashion shows that spotlight all-new footwear and apparel, culminating in a full fashion show on Oct. 18. Complete with imaginative vignettes and never-before-seen styles that lean into key elements of the story and its characters, portions of the fashion show will air as a part of the Virtual Playdate on Oct. 18.

Beginning today, fans can visit www.disney.com/FrozenFanFest for a full schedule of events, downloadable activities and more. The Playdate will start at 9 a.m. PT on Oct. 18 and will be available for one day only. Additional information can be found by following #FrozenFanFest.

It's love at first sight when a gawky, quirky insect arrives and a fabulous ladybug catches his eye – and the feeling is mutual.

The cast of OVO is comprised of 52 performing artists from 14 countries specializing in many acrobatic acts. OVO is now a Cirque du Soleil classic. Lin Manuel Miranda has finally confirmed the rumor that the Ham Fam was hoping to be true. Hamilton is hitting the big screen.

As Red Tricycle previously reported, the film version of the hit Broadway musical is in fact a recording of the live stage show and not an adaptation. Miranda confirmed in a recent interview with Variety that the film was shot when the original Hamilton cast was still performing on Broadway.

The original cast includes Miranda as Alexander Hamilton, Leslie Odom Jr. as Aaron Burr, Phillipa Soo as Eliza Hamilton, Jonathan Groff as King George III and Daveed Diggs as Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson. In the interview Miranda explained, “You all have that friend who brags, ‘I saw that with the original cast.’ We’re stealing that brag from everyone. You’re all gonna see it with the original cast.”

The only question is when fans will finally get to see it? Miranda says, “Hopefully sooner than later.” With the Hamilton film already shot it’s just a matter of figuring out who will distribute it and when, so we can all finally get a peek in the room where it happens.

Gratitude is an important character strength and life skill for kids’ success and happiness, but it’s more than just saying “thank you.” All of the films on this list can teach kids the value of being aware of and thankful for the good things in their lives—and of taking the time to return kindness.

These motivational movies ranging from A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving to It’s a Wonderful Life show young kids the importance of being grateful by featuring characters who learn to overcome selfishness and truly appreciate what they have.

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving

Nobody does holidays quite like the Peanuts gang, and this seasonal special is no exception. This classic story teaches kids as young as preschool about friendship, generosity, and gratitude. Recommended for ages 4 and over. (Paramount Pictures, 1973)

Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas

This heartwarming animated version of the classic children's tale has delighted, educated, and entertained kids and families for over 50 years. Recommended for ages 4 and over. (Warner Home Video, 1966)

VeggieTales: Madame Blueberry

Great songs, silly humor, and an enduring message about the pitfalls of being greedy help young kids appreciate their blessings. Recommended for ages 4 and older. (Big Idea Productions, 1998)

Cinderella

Cinderella is a Disney classic that can incite important conversations about gratitude, greed, and empathy -- as well as give parents an opportunity to discuss outdated stereotypes around the passive princess "rescued" by her prince charming. Recommended for ages 5 and older. (Walt Disney Pictures, 1950)

Annie (1982)

Punctuated by memorable songs like, “It's the Hard-Knock Life" and “Tomorrow,” this musical tale about a cute, spunky orphan is great fun for the whole family. Recommended for ages 6 and older. (Columbia Tristar, 1982)

Mary Poppins

Wonderful singing, dancing, and animation bring the story of Mary Poppins to life as the magical nanny that ends up being just what the doctor (er, Mr. Banks) ordered. Rarely does a movie manage to be so much fun while delivering a simple, heartwarming story. Recommended for ages age 6 and older. (Walt Disney Pictures. 1964)

Up

With Up, Pixar has brought to life a multi-generational odd couple in a film that's visually stunning, touching, and unsurprisingly delightful. Above the gorgeous and colorful animated vistas, Pixar's astonishing achievement is the sweet, funny, lasting relationship between Carl and Russell. Recommended for ages 6 and older. (Pixar Animation Studios, 2009)

Coco

Coco is a vibrant Disney Pixar film that explores the traditions of the Day of the Dead, a child's desire to become a musician despite his family's wishes, and the power of unconditional love. Ultimately, this gorgeous film is a poignant tribute to the power of relationships, family, and culture. Recommended for ages 7 and older. (Pixar Animation Studios, 2017)

Oliver!

With many truly glorious songs and stellar performances, this 1968 film version of the Broadway musical about the travails of poor orphan Oliver is a clear depiction of what some less fortunate folks have to endure. It also has themes of compassion, empathy, courage, and perseverance. Recommended for ages 8 and older. (Columbia Tristar, 1968)

It's a Wonderful Life

Frank Capra's bittersweet, heartwarming movie about a man who comes to realize the value of his own life has been a holiday favorite for years. No matter how often you see this perennial Christmas classic, you will be entranced. Recommended for ages 9 and older. (RKO, 1946)
