Pillsbury is going paleo—paleolithic that is! The delish dessert-maker recently announced the debut of a brand-new, dinosaur-themed ready-to-bake cookie dough.

The new DINO Cutout Sugar Cookie Dough is the first time Pillsbury has branched out into the prehistoric world. This means if your kiddos clamor for dino-everything, now you won’t have to buy pricey cookie cutters in their fave jurassic era-themed shapes.

With two precut shapes including Stegosaurus and Pterodactyl, these cookies are a blast from the past. That is, the prehistoric past. Not only do the cookies look like your fam’s fave dinos, the littles can decorate the plain sugar cookies and make a sweet Stegosaurus, a terrible Pterodactyl or their own creative creature!

These new cookies arrive in the refrigerated section of grocery retailers nationwide this month. Each pack includes 10 cut-out cookies and has a manufacturer’s suggested retailers price of two for $5.

Jurassic Park is back—just not on the big screen. The iconic original flick from the mega-popular franchise is the subject of a new Monopoly game.

From T. Rex to the velociraptors, your littles are all about the prehistoric world in the Monopoly: Jurassic Park Edition. Now you can join in with the dinosaur play in a way that’s fun for your entire fam!

Photo: Amazon

The Monopoly Jurassic Park Edition (for players eight-years and up) is based on the OG 90’s film so instead of buying railroads and building hotels, this game requires the players to secure the park. You’ll have to avoid the T. Rex’s rampage and activate the electronic gate to get paid.

The amount of money each player gets depends on whether the gate plays the movie theme or gives a major dino roar. Along with rushing away from a Rex on a rampage, players can also build fences and charge rent for dino protection.

As if that’s not enough, the Hasbro Gaming Tiger Electronics Jurassic Park LCD Video Game is also available for fans of the paleo fave. Retro game lovers will love this version that was inspired by the original handheld game of the 90’s.

Find Jurassic-themed Monopoly game on Amazon for $32.96, and the Tiger Electronics version at retailers nationwide beginning Aug. 1 for approximately $20.

With Universal Studios Hollywood’s latest news, your fam may finally get the chance to check out the Studio Tour, see the awesomeness of the Indominus rex on “Jurassic World-The Ride,” or catch a glimpse of the new “The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash” attraction.

Before you book your trip, take a moment to review the park’s current set of rules and restrictions. To start with, Universal Studios Hollywood theme park visits are only open to California residents—for the time being.

The visitor party size is limited to a maximum of three households and a total of 10 people. All guests must follow state and park safety protocols. Guests who scheduled a visit during the closure are credited via their Universal account with a visit to use at a future valid date.

If you used your 3 Visit Ticket and the ticket was set to expire Mar. 14, 2020 or after, the 12-month expiration date is extended by the total number of days of the park closure. The deadline for unused 3 Visit Ticket first visits is extended to Dec. 16, 2021. Blackout dates will include Dec. 26 through Dec. 31, 2021.

Theme park enthusiasts are in for a wild ride when it comes to much-anticipated new attractions at Southern California parks this summer. Two of the southland’s largest hot spots, Universal Studios and Disneyland both promised the grand opening of blockbuster-related experiences, and not everyone is on target.

Keeping up with its deadline, Universal Studio’s held the official opening for the brand new Jurassic World: The Ride to the public the second week of July. Replacing the 22-year-old predecessor, Jurassic Park ride, the newest thrill takes riders on a watery journey past fun, friendly and ferocious dinosaurs.

The ride is already open to the public, just in time to keep park goers cool from the sweltering SoCal sun.

On a more disappointing note, Galaxy’s Edge newest attraction, Rise of the Resistance will not see an audience this year. According to MiceChat, the complicated ride is experiencing technical issues, so the grand opening has been pushed back to Jan. 17, 2020. Disney Parks has claimed that construction crews can only open one ride at a time, and have been flown to Florida to open the attraction there first.

photo: Disney Parks

Even though Walt Disney World’s own version of Galaxy’s Edge was a few months behind the Disneyland version, its Rise of the Resistance ride will actually open Dec. 5, 2019. The delay aided the resort in working out some of the technical issues and will open ahead of California’s attraction, according to reports.

Despite the Disneyland’s newest attraction not opening until after the new year, guests can look forward to fewer lines and wait times. Since the busy holiday season will be over, you’ll be able to experience the galaxy far, far away with minimal crowds.

Forget about the running of the bulls. At Emerald Downs racetrack its’s all about the dinos!

The racetrack recently gave the thoroughbreds that typically grace the races a break and held a costume-clad event—filled with T. Rexes.

In its third year, the T. Rex race is a sight to behold. The Jurassic beasts (a.k.a. people in costumes) line up at the starting gate and…they’re off and running. So how did this magical race happen?

According to NPR, the race started several years ago during the TriGuard Pest Control (of Renton, Washington) annual company outing. TriGuard sales manager, Cody Bennett, told NPR, “The first year, we attended the race in Hawaiian themed clothing.” The following year the company tried togas and in 2017 they switched to dino costumes.

While nothing beats a crowd of T. Rex’s weaving their way around a racetrack, this isn’t the only fun run Emerald Downs hosts. The track is also home to the dachshund-packed Wiener Dog Sunday and a corgi race!
