Nothing says, “I love you” quite like a handmade gift. Whether it’s a messy finger painting or a pony-beaded pipe cleaner bracelet, we are suckers for those gooey, straight-from-the-heart goodies. That’s why we’ve rounded up seven spots around the city, where creative kids can craft something special for Mother’s Day. (Psst… We know you’ve got May 10th marked on the calendar, right dads?). From recycled flower crafts to hand-squeezed chocolates, click through the gallery to see where you can make heart-melting Mother’s Day gifts.

Made Sewing Studio

Add a little pop to mom’s spring wardrobe with a hand-sewn infinity scarf, created with love at Made Sewing Studio in North Seattle. Little seamstresses will learn the basics of using a sewing machine, as they stitch together a colorful number just for mom. That means no experience necessary for this entry-level class. Plan to drop off your tiny tailor just before class begins (no fair staying parents, you might be too tempted to help) and pick them up about two hours later, when the project is complete and they’ve got the basics down. This is a register in advance kind of class, so be sure to reserve your spot soon. Happy sewing!

Good to know: If more than one special lady is on your Mother’s Day list, take advantage of Made’s open studio time ($10/hr). Bring your own fabric and use their machines to knock out a few more gifts to give!
