You may know already ‘Zaw, Seattle’s “artisan Pizza in the raw”. from your local farmers market. With 100% organic crusts (gluten-free is also an option) and ruby red tomato sauce, the piemakers have garnered a loyal following crazy for their Roasted Veg Head, Chicago Deli and Cowardly Apricot pizzas. To keep the whole family happy, a new menu item has been added: the Pip Squeak Pizza for the uber-picky (yep, it’s a kid’s plain cheese pizza), nicely priced at $6. With five Seattle neighborhood locations cropping up in the past year, ‘Zaw pizzas can be bike-pedaled to your front door (or you can pick up) fresh and ready to bake or BBQ.

A new toddler-friendly coffee shop opened in Country Village Bothell last week. The Village Bean welcomes families, friends, or moms groups to chat over a cup of coffee while the kiddies stay busy at the train table, play kitchen, or magnet wall. The small menu offers lattes, bagels, and deli sandwiches, as well as cheese sticks, fish crackers, and a mini sandwich for the kiddos.

The latest cupcake joint to hit the scene is Yellow Leaf Cupcake in Belltown and they may just offer the largest selection of flavors in town, with 66 on the menu (with 10-15 available in store on any given day). Look for classics like vanilla and Red Velvet and filled treats like chocolate peanut butter and dulche de leche. Somebody please sample the Tomato Soup flavor and give us a report.
