It might feel like Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott cried wolf when they announced they’d decided to change the name of their second child, but a parent’s gotta do what a parent’s gotta do. Simply put, she and Travis Scott have decided that their second child’s name doesn’t suit him. His new name has yet to be publicly announced.
For now, he’s going as “The Baby Formerly Known as Wolf.”
“FYI our son’s name isn’t Wolf anymore,” Jenner, 24, wrote via her Instagram Story on Monday, March 21. “We just really didn’t feel like it was him.” The reality celebrity went on to say she “just wanted to share because [she] keep[s] seeing Wolf everywhere.”
Whether you agree with his first name, his next undisclosed name, her announcement or anything to do with this revelation, one thing’s for certain: parents change their minds about their baby’s name all the time. It certainly beats the alternative of hearing an internal record scratch every time you say your kids name.
The reality star and cosmetics founder waited nine days after his birth to reveal that he would be called Wolf, and his birth certificate—which was obtained later that month—confirmed that his full name was Wolf Jacques Webster. She also created a 10-minute documentary about her pregnancy with her 2nd child, which featured footage from her extravagant baby shower, Wolf’s delivery, and sweet messages from the Kardashian-Jenner crew.
We can safely expect to learn on the little guy’s new name over Instagram, though, since the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum used it to announce in September that baby No. 2 was on the way. She used it to show fans her positive pregnancy test and ultrasound shots, and featured daughter Stormi in the upload. Four months later, however, she removed photos of Stormi from her Instagram account, writing “I’m not sharing photos of my girl right now,” to one of her followers in June 2018. But in July, she was back to posting about Stormi’s life.
Jenner also recently spoke candidly of the challenges of postpartum recovery after the birth of her son, sharing video content on her Instagram Stories last week, which she labeled “6 weeks postpartum.” She talked about how her recovery after the birth of her son, Wolf, has been “hard.” She said she wanted to remind moms facing postpartum recovery “It’s OK not to be OK… I realized that I was putting some pressure on myself… And I just keep reminding myself I made a whole human, a beautiful healthy boy.”
