Two major automaker groups, the Association of Global Automakers and the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, have agreed to to make rear-seat occupant alerts standard by the 2025 model year.

The groups, which represent the majority of auto manufacturers, made this decision in response to the growing epidemic of accidental child heatstroke deaths. Even though Congress already has a bill known as HOT CARS (which stands for Helping Overcome Trauma for Children Alone in Rear Seats) in the works, the automaker groups’ proactive decision will most likely start the process before the legislation has passed.

Rear-occupant alerts would remind parents that their infants or young children are still in the back seat. According to ABC7, David Schwietert, interim CEO of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, said, “Automakers have been exploring ways to address this safety issue, and this commitment underscores how such innovations and increased awareness can help children right now.”

Even though there are still close to six years before these alert systems become standard, some cars already have them in place. General Motors has an alert reminder for all trucks, SUVs and four-door sedans (as of the 2019 model year). Hyundai is also helping to prevent parents from accidentally leaving their kiddos in the backseat unattended by pledging to make its alert system standard by 2022.

Eighteen years ago Tori Roach’s then-teen dad, clad in his green cap and gown, picked his daughter up for a sweet grad day pic. Fast forward 18 years and the daddy-daughter duo are yet again posing for the same super-cute photo.

When Roach, now 19, graduated from Huntsville High School in Texas her aunt suggested the pair recreate the magical moment from nearly two decades ago. The new grad and her dad agreed, creating a now-viral side-by-side shot of both of the Roach’s (father and daughter) graduations.

According to Roach, she never expected the pic to go as viral as it did. She told PEOPLE, “I’m from a small town and nothing like that ever happens over here.” Roach went on to add, “I didn’t expect it to blow up like that! Once it started happening, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh!’ I called my family and I was like, ‘Everyone’s sharing the pictures!’”

Along with the number of likes and social media shares, Roach also didn’t expect the reaction her dad got. The recent grad followed up her initial tweet with another, letting her dad’s adoring public know, “For everyone asking, yes this is my dad, he’s 37 and no he isn’t single.”

From camping under the stars to exploring Disney World, the ideal family vacation is different for everyone, but age plays a major factor in choosing dream destination according to a new travel report from Vrbo.

Vacation rental site Vrbo has just released a new report “Age isn’t just a number. It reveals how you travel.” based on its U.S. travel survey. The survey found that when it comes to decisions about travel things vary a great deal between generations. When it comes to the reason for traveling, for example, 45 percent of Millennials said they travel purely for exploration, while 20 percent of Gen Xers (35 to 54-year-olds) said travel was generally in honor of a special milestone, like a birthday or anniversary.

The survey also revealed that Millennials were the most likely to go into debt in order to travel versus Gen Xers and Baby Boomers. There are some things that all generations have in common, however.

The majority of respondents, regardless of age, agreed that their dream destination was Australia. Certain amenities are also universal apparently, with 75 percent of respondents refusing to unplug for vacation and requiring that accommodations include WiFi access. The majority of Americans were also united in the desire to travel with friends and family, with 52 percent of respondents planning a family vacation this year. All participants rated relaxation as their primary reason for travel, “indicating a healthy desire to disconnect from the stress of our daily lives and reconnect with family and friends while away.”

Parenting your kids after a divorce or separation isn’t always easy, but Anna Faris and Chris Pratt give us awesome life goals on how to co-parent.

In a recent interview with divorce attorney Laura Wasser for her Divorce Sucks! podcast, Faris revealed her hopes for the future of co-parenting with ex Pratt. Despite Pratt’s engagement to Katherine Schwarzenegger and Faris’ relationship with photographer Micheal Barrett, the parents remain committed to keeping their six-year-old son Jack their number one priority.

“Grudge-holding is not something that Chris and I do. So, we wanted to make sure, of course, that Jack [their son] was happy, but that we were happy and supportive of each other and that we could have this fantasy idea of, do we all spend Christmas together? Do we all vacation together? How do we make sure that everybody that we love feels safe, and that we also respect the love we have for each other?” Faris said on the podcast.

Faris said her hope is that as Jack grows older they will “have group Thanksgiving dinners together and to be at that place.” Under the terms of their divorce, Pratt and Faris agreed to live within five miles of each other until Jack is in sixth grade so it’s definitely possible to make joint holidays happen.

Faris has also made it clear that she has no bitterness towards Pratt’s new fiancée and believes they are both great people. “Under all of these un-coupling circumstances, I think that we are so good and respectful toward each other,” Faris said. “I think there is so much kindness and love, and I know we want to get to that ultimate goal—and I know it sounds lame and optimistic—but that’s what I want.”

With the big-screen debut of the much anticipated Disney reboot a mere few months away, The Lion King clip shown recently at CinemaCon made major movie waves. As we all not-so-patiently wait for the live-action debut, Disney teased the film with almost five minutes of new flick.

So what secrets did the new footage spill? If you’ve had the original animated feature on an endless replay cycle, you pretty much know how the story plays out. And like the 1994 animated predecessor, the live-action version retells the story, but in a gorgeous new way.

Unfortunately, Disney’s presentation at CinemaCon was closed and the footage embargoed, which means there’s no footage for fans just yet—but reviews on social media and YouTube from attendees of the presentation all collectively agreed that the CGI for the film is beyond impressive.

All we have to go on for now is The Lion King teaser trailer released last fall, for a glimpse of what’s to come:

Jon Favreau directs and James Earl Jones, Donald Glover, Beyoncé, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Seth Rogan star in the updated classic. Disney’s live-action The Lion King hits theaters Jul. 19.

If the Disney Princesses in Ralph Breaks the Internet were your favorite part if the sequel to Wreck-It Ralph, you’re not alone. Fans across the internet are hoping to see the princesses get their own spin-off—and the film’s directors agree.

In a recent interview with the A.V. Club, Ralph Breaks the Internet directors Rich Moore and Phil Johnston agreed with fan sentiment that the princesses would be the perfect stars of their own film. “When you’re in Stockholm, and they’re saying like, ‘Have you considered doing a movie just about the Princesses?’ I think it’s an idea worth exploring because everywhere we go, we hear that response. ‘Oh my God, I love the Princesses like that,’” said Moore.

“Not just the scene meeting Vanellope and talking about what it means to be a princess, but then to see them in action—it does feel like there’s something to that—that people are finally seeing the Princesses do what you’ve always believed they could do, but you’ve never seen it before,” he continued.

For now the idea remains just an idea, unfortunately, as there are no official plans in the works for a spin-off. But maybe if we all find some important water and stare really hard, our dreams will come true.

From those hazy newborn days to Daylight Savings havoc, being a parent means losing sleep. In fact, it can mean getting less sleep for up to six years. So how do you make up lost sleep? There are few ways you can replenish some of that missing shut eye.

A study recently published in Current Biology confirms what experts have long agreed on: you can’t make up for too many late nights simply by sleeping in on the weekend. A couple extra hours doesn’t make make up for the lost time or correct shifts that have occurred in your body’s natural circadian rhythms.

Instead of hitting the snooze alarm all weekend, a better approach is to follow the age old advice given to new moms and sleep when the baby sleeps. In other words, take a nap. “The light exposure in the morning right after your sleep period is what we think is most important for keeping those regular biological rhythms going,” Dr. Cathy Goldstein, an associate professor of neurology at the the University of Michigan Sleep Disorders Center told TIME. “If you do need to log some extra hours, a midday nap might be better.”

Keep your nap short and sweet, just twenty minutes is the perfect amount of time according to the National Sleep Foundation. Just make sure you don’t take that nap too close to bedtime or you’ll be bouncing off the walls right along with your toddler. Goldstein also suggests maintaining consistent wake times, even on weekends, and limiting nighttime light exposure to improve sleep quality.
