Movie theaters across the country have closed in response to coronavirus concerns. Universal Pictures announced that they would release their upcoming animated film Trolls World Tour on-demand the same day it is released in theaters. Now you can enjoy Trolls World Tour on it’s planned release day, Apr. 10, from the comfort of your own living room.

NBCUniversal said that due to the current circumstances that are not allowing viewers to get to the theater, Universal Pictures will make its movies available in the home on the same day as their global theatrical releases. Beginning with DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls World Tour, which opens on Apr. 10, the company will also make movies that are currently in theatrical release available on-demand starting as early as Mar. 20. Titles including The Hunt, The Invisible Man and   will be available on many of the popular on-demand services for a 48 hour rental period for a suggested retail price of $19.99 in the US and the price equivalent internationally.

“Universal Pictures has a broad and diverse range of movies with 2020 being no exception. Rather than delaying these films or releasing them into a challenged distribution landscape, we wanted to provide an option for people to view these titles in the home that is both accessible and affordable,” said Jeff Shell, CEO, NBCUniversal. “We hope and believe that people will still go to the movies in theaters where available, but we understand that for people in different areas of the world that is increasingly becoming less possible.”

A New Trailer for Pixar’s “Onward” Just Dropped & It’s the Most Magical Adventure Yet

The Hallmark Channel’s Christmas Con Is Coming & It’s 3 Days of Holiday Bliss

Get Ready to Kick Off Your Christmas with Freeform’s Holiday Schedule

Some days, it feels like everyone around you can do something special but you—especially when you’re a kid. Now imagine being a Viking kid growing up with winged reptiles as your family. You don’t fly. You can’t spit fire. Your tail doesn’t shoot shards of bone when you get angry. What’s a Viking kid to do?

This fall, Netflix will bring the heat to the small screen with the release of DreamWorks Dragons Rescue Riders, an exciting tale of two kids and their winged, scaly pals who know that the coolest way to impress others is by helping them. Keep reading to find out why it’s a must-see during family screen time.

The Scoop:
In DreamWorks Dragons Rescue Riders, Viking twins Dak and Leyla—rescued and raised among dragons who teach them to speak the dragon language—have super powers of their own. They use teamwork, friendship, and problem-solving to help others, just like their dragon family did to help them. And we all can agree that firepower doesn’t hold a candle to friendship power. Here are a few reasons we can’t wait for this new show, which debuts on Netflix Sep. 27.

1. The show is familiar but new. Viking twins and their flight of four young flamethrowers exhibit ways to help others through acts of selflessness and bravery in a faraway corner of the Viking and dragon world where fans of How to Train Your Dragon movies have never yet visited. Dragons Rescue Riders is familiar, but new characters mean entirely fresh interactions and challenges, especially with the twins’ unique ability to communicate with dragons.

2. The show is about nice people (and dragons) doing good things. In each episode, the twins and their Rescue Riders embark on a mission to pay forward the kindness of the dragons that raised them and rescue other dragons—who are often just learning how to use their powers—along with people, sheep, and any other creature that finds themselves in danger’s path. This is a show that will fire up a belief in the power of friendship, teamwork and collaboration to overcome differences and help one another out.

3. The show is exciting, funny and easy to experience together. The show is intended for younger kids, but no matter the age or stage of your Dragons fan, Dragons Rescue Riders offers the right mix of creativity and credibility that viewers expect from DreamWorks. Don’t be surprised if your couch isn’t crammed with the whole family when you have Dragons Rescue Riders on.

4. The show will introduce new dragon friends. If your kid is ready to befriend a few new dragon pals, this show will make her day. New and endearing characters include Winger, the most powerful dragon of the crew, Summer who can swim as fast as other dragons can fly, fun-loving Cutter, Burple who is the lovable purple dragon with four stomachs and Aggro, quite possibly the smartest of all the dragons, but also a bit of a hothead. Your kids will soon be familiar with all the lovable quirks of this fun group.

Super powers are cool, and DreamWorks Dragons Rescue Riders gives parents a chance to have them with the touch of a remote control button. Tune in to watch all 13 episodes of DreamWorks Dragons Rescue Riders first season, exclusively available on Netflix on September 27th.

We generally want our kiddos to say “yes” to the wonders of life, from trying out experiences as a family, a range of foods at the dinner table and different ways of thinking in the classroom. They now have a new role model with an eager attitude in Archibald Strutter, the literary-protagonist-turned-animated-star of the new Netflix series, Dreamworks Archibald’s Next Big Thing. Hitting the small screen on September 6, families now have a new show to enjoy together.

Archibald, so you know, is one confident chicken, envisioned by Tony Hale, star in his own right of Veep and Arrested Development and co-author with Tony Biaggne and Victor Huckabee of the original children’s book. Now Hale, as the voice of Archibald, joins famous guest voices like Julia Louis-Dreyfus and RuPaul to bring Archibald’s world—which is all about celebrating the journey, not just the destination—to life. Read on for valuable lessons little viewers can take away from Archibald’s adventures.

1. Say, “Yes!”
Whether he’s buzzing about with trusty sidekick Bea in his hometown of Crackridge, or flapping around his egg-shaped home with siblings Sage, Finly and Loy, Archibald doesn’t let a comfort zone stop him. Instead, he’s game to say “yes” to whatever opportunity comes his way, be it having a go at breakdancing, exploring a mysterious cave, trying a funny-looking fruit or getting to know a giant whale. He’s never afraid to give it a try.

2. Be a Cheerleader
Archibald also encourages others to tag along. After all, you don’t have to be the best or the brightest at something in order to embrace the experience. Let’s be clear: this encouragement isn’t about peer pressure. Archibald respects others while seeing the benefits of celebrating life’s little joys and stretching one’s wings in the process.

3. Show Your True Self
Youngsters are bound to relate to one of the different characters on the show, be it outdoorsy Sage, musical Finly, scientist Loy or Archibald himself, who doesn’t let anyone or anything pigeon-hole him. He is a chicken, after all, and he’s living life to its fullest. Whenever we express our truest selves, it’s all the easier to do so.

4. Look for the Best
While making the most of the moment leads to exciting adventures, some sticky situations are bound to ensue—like, er, taking the door to a rocket ship rather than a restroom. The lesson here is that Archibald doesn’t let setbacks sour his attitude. He stays positive about the situation at hand as well as his cohorts. As Archibald would exclaim, “I’m going to go with adventure!”

Tune in to watch season 1 of DreamWorks Archibald’s Next Big Thing, exclusively available on Netflix on September 6.

The Trolls are rocking their way back onto the big screen in an epic new sequel and here’s your first look at Trolls: World Tour.

Dreamworks Animation has just released the first trailer for the brand new sequel to the hit film Trolls and the universe is about to get a major expansion for Poppy and her hug-loving crew.

As the trailer reveals, the new film will include some new voices, like Kelly Clarkson playing the country music-loving Delta Dawn and Kenan Thompson as Tiny Diamond. The returning cast of favorites will also welcome newcomers Ozzy Osborne, Mary J. Blige, George Clinton, Jamie Dornan, Sam Rockwell and Hamilton’s Anthony Russo.

The new Trolls movie also promises to bring plenty more of the toe-tapping tunes the first movie was known for with a plethora of genres from rap to smooth jazz. Only time will tell if we’ll get a new song quite as catchy as Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling.”

Trolls: World Tour will hit theaters Apr. 17, 2020.
