Toddlers and snacks go together like peanut butter and jelly. Nary a parent will leave the house without at least a few bags of crackers, fruit snacks, or fruit and veggie pouches stashed in their bag to avoid meltdowns. If your littles are getting tired of the same old nibbles, check out some of our favorite Trader Joe’s snacks for toddlers. They’re bound to keep them full, plus parents won’t mind scarfing down the leftovers.
Cheddar Rocket Crackers
If your toddler needs a break from regular Goldfish crackers, TJ’s Cheddar Rocket Crackers are a sure bet. They pack a cheesy punch and bring a new non-fishy shape that littles will love.
Sometimes toddlers have the appetite of a grown man, and sometimes they seem to survive on air. When you aren’t sure, these Bambino Pepperoni Pizzas come in handy. Each box comes with 4 pizzas roughly the circumference of a baseball. Slice into small pieces for a hearty snack or heat up a few pies for those inevitable growth spurts.
Any seasoned parent knows that sometimes you need to entice kids with a little something sweet to get their fruit servings in for the day. The Gone Bananas and Gone Strawberries at Trader Joe’s are chocolate-dipped treats that are flash-frozen, meaning you can pull out a handful for snack time and enjoy right away!
Animal Crackers
It’s just plain common sense to keep a bucket of TJ’s Animal Crackers on hand at all times. They are great for the munchies, can be dipped in yogurt for some added protein, and are also fun to mix together with a salty treat to keep things interesting.
This wouldn’t be a list of Trader Joe’s snacks for toddlers without mentioning the grocer’s fruit sauce crushers. They come in flavors that include Apple Banana, Apple Strawberry, Apple Mango, and just plain Apple. They’re great to pack for preschool or keep on hand at the bottom of your purse.
Tired of whipping up box after box of mac and cheese? It’s time to give your toddler a taste of Mac & Cheese Bites! The four-cheese, breaded macaroni balls are light and seasoned just enough to not deter your toddler from eating them. In the event that they don’t enjoy, they make the perfect lunch for mom or dad.
Freeze Dried Fruit
Trader Joe’s
We have to confess that while TJ’s bags of freeze-dried fruit are delicious, they can be messy! Think: blue fingers thanks to the blueberries coming into contact with sticky hands. But if you can get past that, we can pretty much guarantee your toddler will scarf down plenty of airy and crunchy fruit in the meantime.
Great for breakfast, brinner, or a snack, these Silver Dollar Pancakes are toddler approved. You can heat them in seconds by tossing them in the microwave and they fit perfectly in tiny hands. Enjoy with syrup, butter, peanut butter, or just a la carte!
Perfect for learning your ABC’s, Trader Joe’s Schoolhouse cookies make a great snack for toddlers. They are crunchy, cinnamon-flavored, and an entertaining activity to boot!
Fruit Leather Buttons
We love to bring these along in our mom-bag as they are a great quick snack that doesn’t make a mess. Plus, they come in kid-approved flavors like mango and grape.
Kids who can enjoy peanuts will love the crispy crunchy goodness that is the Bamba! The light, puffed snack has a peanutty flavor that is mild and contains a tiny amount of sugar. Oh, did we also mention it’s just $.99 a bag?
Yes, yogurt might be messy but no one can argue how much toddlers love a good batch. The great thing about TJ’s yogurt packs is that each pack has two flavors for your toddler’s ever-changing tastebuds, plus you can enjoy with a spoon or freeze (like the pic above) and turn them into a frozen treat. They’ll never know it’s not ice cream!
Organic Mini Cheese Sandwich Crackers
You may claim that these are for the kids, but we know that parents hide them behind the Raisin Bran to keep them for themselves. Who can blame them? These crackers are tiny, salty, and full of simple ingredients.
Trader Joe's Contemplates Inner Peas
Not only is this product a clever pun but it is a pretty tasty snack. Known in the toddler circle as "crunchy peas," these are fun for dipping in a personal-sized hummus.
To get around her kid’s daycare’s ridiculous rules for packed lunch, one TikTok mom came up with a “hack” to fake homemade dishes
Any parent who sends their kid to daycare, preschool, or a school with lunch rules knows what a hassle they can be. Gone are the days of simple, peanut-free cafeterias. These days, parents can expect a list of rules as long as the Cheesecake Factory menu, with such easy-to-comply-with requests as “no pre-packaged foods” or “no repeat meals.” Seriously? Like busy moms have time for this?
That’s where one genius TikTok mom comes in. She shared her hack for making a “fake” homemade lunch to skirt her kid’s daycare rules, and it’s about to become every mom’s go-to trick.
Over audio saying, “Nobody’s gonna know,” we see the mom, who goes by @mammathings on TikTok, scraping a microwavable pasta dish into a Tupperware container to make it look like some home-cooked leftovers. Mama’s special chicken and pesto pasta for lunch? This is definitely not Lean Cuisine. In the next shot, she has another Tupperware, and she’s emptying some Bluey cookies into it. As everyone knows, every mom makes Bluey cookies from scratch. It’s just what you do for your little angels.
The comments are filled with parents who are praising this mom’s chutzpah.
“If they aren’t paying or packing it’s not their concern what your feed YOUR kid. they say fed is best 😅,” one parent wrote.
Another commented, “‘Yes these Spider-Man fruit snacks are homemade. Thank you for asking!'”
Even a daycare worker chimed in to help shed some light on those ridiculous lunch requirements.
“as a daycare teacher i can promise you it’s management and as long as kids are fed teachers don’t care,” the wrote. OP replied, “This is comforting to know.”
So there you have it. Send your kid to school with whatever they want to eat (minus allergens that could be dangerous for other kids, of course). Just put it in a Tupperware first.
These Amazon snacks will keep the whole family fueled
There’s nothing kids love more than asking for snacks. Except maybe slime. But especially over the summer, “can I have a snack?” is the song that’s sung in all our homes. Somehow, during the out-of-school months, kids work up the appetite of hard-working farmers and going to the grocery stole daily is just unbelievably inconvenient. Luckily, Amazon comes to the rescue once again. These Amazon snacks aren’t just really good, they’re also easy to order and have on your doorstep (which is especially good when it’s too hot to want to do anything). Plus, they’ll be great for school lunch packing in a few short weeks. While you’re shopping for pool toys and SPF, throw a few of these ultra tasty Amazon snacks into your cart (and snag a few for yourself).

Apple Park: Whimsical Toys & Clothes for Baby & Kids
Apple Park
After having her firstborn 10 years ago, mom Angie Ting discovered that eco-friendly, organic and hypoallergenic toys and clothes for baby just weren’t widely available. Her disappointment led to the inception of Apple Park, which today is known for colorful and whimsical toys, clothes and accessories. Their newest Organic Farm Buddies collection, launching March 2020, starts at $11 with nothing over $37. Expect fun hippos, flamingos, zebras and more, all made with organic fibers and sustainable ingredients. Online: applepark.com
Luxury doesn’t equate to cruelty. At least that’s the way Rivers Eight sees things. Their luxe handbags and travel accessories are faux skin, and to the naked eye may get PETA riled up. But, rest assured the entire hand-crafted collection is cruelty-free and made right in L.A. A current fan favorite is this 3-in-1 bag, which is a fold-over belt bag, cross-body bag and clutch all in one. So go ahead and celebrate the animal kingdom with Rivers Eight, all without negatively impacting their population. Online: riverseight.com

Sustainable LEGO Bricks: Your Favorites Made Better
The LEGOs you know and love are in for some big changes. In an effort to create zero waste, the company is producing LEGO bricks made from plant-based materials, but you likely won’t notice at all. LEGO just announced in early 2018 that it has started production on sustainable blocks made with materials sourced from sugarcane. The plant-based polyethylene is softer but still durable. Despite these new changes, LEGO promises that builders won’t notice a difference in the look or feel of the bricks. Learn more here.

The Westin Dallas Stonebriar Golf Resort & Spa
This impressive resort is ready for summer after a $30-million renovation in 2021. Not only did they add more green space and a kids’ club for ages 4-12 ($35 for a half-day/$60 for a full-day) that has plenty of toys and games, as well as two to three staff members, but there’s also an impressive poolside vibe with a two-story waterslide and a splash pad. There are also cabanas with TVs, and lawn games like giant Connect Four and corn hole. Be sure to try out the put-put golf!
There’s a new TopGolf Swing Suite (up to 12 guests) you can reserve for $25 an hour on a weekday and $50 an hour during the weekends. Don't miss the live music and the ice cream sundae bar in the lobby.
As for dining, you’ll have plenty of options. You can eat all day at the lobby restaurant and bar, Beans & Barrel, or the grab-n-go section stocked with sandwiches, fruit, snacks, ice cream and a Starbucks. For poolside options, Ranch Water offers up frozen drinks and seasonal menu items. You can also order menu items from Herd & Hearth, which specializes in modern Southern cuisine with an emphasis on fresh ingredients. We recommend the s’mores dessert, as well as the tortilla soup! Herd & Hearth is now open for breakfast and full meal periods will be available soon.

Even better, there's a DART stop, which means you'll have access to the Dallas Zoo, the Bishop Arts District and beyond!
Whether you come in the warmer months or colder months, the Gaylord has plenty to do. Hit up Paradise Springs Water Park & Resort Pools, a 10-acre water wonderland complete with a lazy river, slides and pool in the summer or experience the wonder of the resort's year-round activities, like an Escape Room, cookie decorating, and more. One of the best times to visit is during the holiday season when the Gaylord goes full Christmas. You can ice skate, go snow tubing, build a snowman, decorate gingerbread houses, get photos with Santa and much, much more.
Always a popular choice for families, this indoor/outdoor waterpark resort is filled with fun. From the ropes course to the Magi Quest, arcade, hourly activities, character events, and of course, water features, a night or two here will fill your vacation cup in no time!
This hotel is located within walking distance from Sundance Square and has suites that are perfect for families (a separate living space!), an indoor pool with kiddie perks, a pool table, and an outdoor fire pit. Enjoy the excitement of downtown Fort Worth or head over to the Cultural District to explore the Kimball Museum or the Fort Worth Science and History Museum. Also, be sure to take the kids to Dream Park in Trinity Park.
Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas

Opt to purchase the JadeWaters Package, which includes either a King Guestroom with three wristbands to the water park or a Double Guestroom with four wristbands to the water park. Both choices include a $50 food credit.
We need to talk. I know you’re going through some very important developmental milestones, but I have some concerns about your behavior that I feel we should address.
Last night, you whipped your diaper off with such force that a nugget of poo flew across the room and struck me in the chest. I’m not going to lie, that was upsetting, and I’m still not exactly sure how it even happened. I understand you want to do things “by yourself,“ but I have never flung my poo at you, so I think it’s fair to ask that that never happen again.
While we are on the topic of nonsense, what is with your insane tantrums? That can’t be normal. I think you may be suffering from PMS (Preschool Meltdown Syndrome). I’ve heard it’s a thing—I didn’t just make that up.
I know toddler life is full of disappointments and upsets, but you should know that it is completely unnecessary to fall to the ground—as though you’re composed entirely of jello—every time something doesn’t go your way.
I’m sorry I wouldn’t let you play in the oven. I know, I suck. Maybe when you’re older.
And, as much as I would enjoy the sabbatical from cooking, I can’t let you live off fruit snacks and giant hunks of cheese. If you did, you would never poop again, and then what would you throw at me? Think about that.
We also need to talk about your sleep. There is no need to switch out stuffed animals at 3 a.m. They don’t care who you’re sleeping with. They are stuffed and have no real feelings. I, on the other hand, do, and when you wake up and refuse to get back in bed at 3 a.m., what I feel most is anger.
Then there’s your pants—or lack thereof. Listen, I don’t like pants either, but unfortunately, they are required when we are in public. Going forward, I would like to cease all arguments about pants—it’s a non-negotiable topic. If we’re staying home, then, by all means, roam free, my little gazelle. I will be the first one in attendance at your no-pants-party.
Lastly, you know I’m not a stickler when it comes to screen time, but you are really pushing the limits of my sanity with your viewing preferences. Seventeen consecutive episodes of Paw Patrol is the definition of excessive. There isn’t anyone or anything left to save in Adventure Bay—those pups are just showboating at this point.
So, kid, we’ve got to make some changes. Maybe we can settle this over a game of Hungry, Hungry Hippos? I’ll let you be the blue one, then you can change your mind and demand the yellow one, only to ultimately play with the orange one.
Whatever we do, we need to do something. I love you, but I can’t peel you off one more floor or haul you out of another restaurant screaming and crying because your juice was too juicy.

The poll had kids from ages 8 to 14 choose their favorite item to receive in a series of matchups and the candies with the top win percentages are perennial favorites! Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups had the best score, winning 75.9% of matchups. That’s followed by original M&Ms, the Milky Way bar, the classic Hershey’s chocolate bar and a Kit Kat. While chocolate dominated the favorites list, gummy bears snuck in for the sixth place spot. Hershey’s Kisses, Reese’s Pieces, Peanut M&Ms and Twix bars rounded out the top 10.
The candy kids are least excited to receive? Black licorice. It only won 16% of its matchups and the poll found that kids prefer almost anything else, including beef jerky, an orange or even sugar-free gum! And if you want to go the healthier route, data revealed the fruit snacks are a big hit in the pre-teen set, which won out over many candies on the list.
YouGov conducted the poll of 703 U.S. kids quite recently, between September 22 and October 1. Now you know how to stock up as you head to the store before Halloween festivities. Just leave the black licorice on the shelf!
