After a long-anticipated wait, Disney+ launched on Nov. 12 and despite a few glitches, the platform is already setting records. The Walt Disney Company announced on Wednesday that the new service has already surpassed 10 million signups!

While Disney has not specified how many of the 10 million signups are from presales or those who chose the seven-day free trial option, that number is nothing to scoff about considering it’s only the second day of the platform being up and running.

The signup number is even more impressive when you consider that Disney+ is currently only available in the United States, Canada and the Netherlands. Other countries such as Australia and New Zealand will get access next week on Nov. 19.

With Hulu claiming an overall 28 million subscribers and Netflix a cool 60 million, it seems Disney+ is hot on the heels of a vast streaming success.

Early last year the announcement that The Animaniacs is getting a reboot made every ’90s kid jump for joy. Now there’s even more good news––the entire cast is returning for the new show!

Unlike the parade of reboots from your childhood, an animated series has the benefit of relying only on voices and not faces to bring the beloved characters back to life. Despite a more than 20 year gap since the original Animaniacs left the air, the cast is ready to jump back into action and voice this zany crew of siblings once again.

The cast members themselves broke the exciting news on Twitter, sharing that Rob Paulsen (the voice of Yakko), Tress MacNeille (Dot) and Jess Harnell (Wakko) would all be returning for the new reboot.

“We cannot wait to work with Steven Spielberg and the entire Amblin and Warner Bros. teams to bring more sketches, catchphrases, songs and laughs from the Animaniacs to kids and adults everywhere,” said Craig Erwich, senior VP of content at Hulu. “Now one of the most beloved, inventive and funny animated franchises in history, Animaniacs and its cast of witty characters can live on, on Hulu. This marks yet another big move for us as we continue our efforts to be the No. 1 streaming destination for premium animated content.”

The new Animaniacs series will feature at least two seasons and be available exclusively on Hulu sometime in 2020.

It’s been 12 long years since Veronica Mars has graced the silver screen, and now we have the actress who played the rough around-the-edges amateur P.I.’s daughters to thank for the upcoming show’s revival. In a recent interview with Access, Kristen Bell shares the reason she took on the eight-part season of Veronica Mars set to debut later this month on Hulu.

Bell’s commitment to the show means time away from her kids, but she believes the time is spent creating a worthy hero. She tells Access, “You know what, now that I went back and reread the scripts and watched the show, I want my girls to have this character in their life.”

Unlike her first tour with the unlikely heroine, this time Bell is a mom which comes with sacrifices “I’m gonna miss a couple bedtimes for a couple months, because I want this character to exist in the world,” she says. “I want her to be a zeitgeist. I want girls to reference her, I want girls to feel like her.”

That being said, we thank Lincoln and Delta from the bottom of our hearts for sharing their mama with us. Veronica Mars, we can’t wait to catch up with you come July 26!

It’s time to add to the growing list of TV reboots from your childhood/tween years. According to Deadline, WarnerMedia is in talks to bring some seriously funny ’90s sitcoms back as part of the company’s soon-to-be streaming service’s new lineup.

If the rumors are true, it looks like Full House isn’t the only TGIF fave to get a revival for a new generation. Look out for other top TGIF sitcoms, such as Step by Step, Perfect Strangers and Family Matters as potential reboots.

So when will these reboots actually happen? As of now, there’s no info on when, or if, the TGIF lineup will become a new reality. Reportedly, execs from WarnerMedia are still in the consideration stage—meaning these ’90s remakes may, or may not, make a jump from an awesome idea to the real deal.

But don’t worry. If you’re all about TGIF, Hulu now owns the rights to all 800 plus episodes of Full House, Perfect Strangers, Family Matters, Step by Step and Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper.

Diversity in kids TV shows helps young viewers learn that it’s okay to be different and to be true to yourself. That’s exactly the focus of Hulu’s new groundbreaking animated series The Bravest Knight, which features a same-sex interracial couple.

Based on the book The Bravest Knight Who Ever Lived by Daniel Errico, the new series follows the tale of Ser Cedric as he recounts his childhood and journey to becoming a knight to his adopted daughter Nia, an aspiring knight who he shares with his husband, Prince Andrew.

The show will feature the talented voice of T.R. Knight as Ser Cedric, as well as SNL vet Bobby Moynihan, Wanda Sykes and RuPaul. The new show will premiere in Hulu Jun. 21 right in time for Pride Month.

The show’s announcement comes right on the heels of long-running PBS Kids’ series Arthur revealing that Mr. Ratburn is gay in an episode that featured his wedding.

Being picky about the shows your children watch is important.  Knowing the content of the shows is also important. I’m amazed at just how many children’s shows are floating around on the numerous digital highways out there (i.e. hulu, Netflix, cable TV, etc).  I’m equally amazed at just how many of them are total rubbish.

As you have probably guessed…I am quite choosy about the shows my kids watch.  My better-half is also on the same page and we were both very excited to watch the Sound of Music with our children. They were 3 and 4 years old when we watched it together as a family for the first time, all snuggled together “deep-couch sitting” with our popcorn and blankets.

Until this moment the only movie they had seen with real-life people (not cartoons) was Mary Poppins.  My oldest is a boy and he has always been quite inquisitive and is definitely an “old soul.”  His biggest take away from Mary Poppins was the fact that women couldn’t vote.

His pointed questions as to “Why didn’t men want women to vote?” and “How silly that people thought women weren’t as smart as men,” should have tripped my alarm bells for content with the Sound of Music movie, but it didn’t.  I’m sure you’ve guessed what his take-away from this movie was from my title of the blog…incase you haven’t, it’s explaining Nazis to your 4-year old.

““All children have questions about life and how it works. It’s important as parents that we answer these questions with as much honesty and integrity that we can.”

One of the personal rules I live by when it comes to questions with anyone is this: if you’ve got the guts to ask the question I will give an honest answer.  Just be ready for the truth. Obviously with children tact comes into play.

What I did was provide an accurate, honest, and simple answer to his question “Who are the Nazis and why are they chasing Maria and her family?”

““Nazis are a group of people who believe that nobody else can look, feel, think, or act differently from them and if you do they try to harm you. They were chasing Maria and her family because Maria and Captain Von Trapp believe everyone deserves a chance to make up their own minds and the Nazis didn’t like that.”

That was the broad-reaching answer I gave.  Of course we discussed it further in bits and spurts as more questions came up for him.  This back and forth banter went on for about 2 ½ months before the daily questions stopped.  He still brings up the topic but seems “satisfied” with the answers he was given. His main fear was about Maria, and if she and the children were going to be safe.

““Momma b, how did they kill so many people?” “They told them they were going to take a shower, locked them in a room and put bad chemicals in the air which made them stop breathing.”

Direct, honest, and factual, but I didn’t go into the details.  Every child matures differently physically and emotionally. I know my son very well, and his pragmatic little brain was able to hear what I said and process it.  I didn’t want to sugarcoat the type of people Nazis are to my caucasian, blonde hair, blue-eyed boy. My response to how they killed so many people is true. What it is not is easy to hear or digest.

Just because something can be digested doesn’t mean it has to taste good.  We encourage our children to eat “horrible things” like broccoli because we know it’s good for them and their bodies.  I encourage parents to “feed their children broccoli” when it comes to how and what they teach them. Cut it up into bite-sized pieces but don’t sugarcoat how ugly humanity can get.

I often find myself telling my children that all people have good and bad qualities.  Even people who call themselves Nazis more than likely have some good qualities, but it’s hard to see when their bad qualities overshadow them.

History isn’t pretty and mankind hasn’t always been kind.  So don’t do your children a disservice by shielding them from the basic realities of life.  Teach them that there will always be people who want to harm other people. However, there has always and WILL always be people who will want to help others.  I tell my children everyday to be a helper in a world of need.

As a mom, cookbook author and creator of a line of Target cookware, it’s fair to say the Queen of Twitter knows her way around food. Now Chrissy Teigen is getting a new cooking show to showcase all of her talents.

Hulu has just announced that it is producing a cooking show starring Chrissy Teigen and chef David Chang. The show is tentatively called Family Style and will “revolve around the ways people express their love to friends and family through cooking and eating together,” according to Hollywood Reporter.

The show is just the first in what will likely be a series of new Chrissy Teigen-produced shows for Hulu as her production company has signed a two-year deal with the streaming service.

“Food has become cultural currency today,” says Chang. “People know more about food than ever before. It’s never been a better time to eat in America today.”

Get ready marshmallows, the wait is nearly over! Hulu’s revival of Veronica Mars has an official full-length trailer that has us wishing that Jul. 26 was here already.

Neptune’s intrepid gumshoe is heading back to the small screen in the new eight-episode season, where spring break is in full effect. When tourists end up dead, Mars Investigations is hired to unravel the mystery behind the killings. And the result? An action-packed trailer that we may have already watched several times.

The minute-long trailer gives us so much more than the previous 35-second teaser released last month. We see that Kristen Bell and her taser aren’t the only characters to make an appearance––Enrico Colantoni, Jason Dohring, Patton Oswalt, and J.K. Simmons are also getting in on the action.

We can expect to see returning actors Percy Daggs III, Francis Capra and Ryan Hansen also head back to Neptune, but no word on whether gal pal Tina Majorino (who played Mac) will be joining the gang. Tune in to catch all eight episodes of the new show on Hulu on Jul. 26, 2019.
