We’re loving the new-dad look on our favorite former-bachelor, George Clooney even though his twins are now two years old. During a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Clooney talked toddlers with the daytime host.

Clooney and wife Amal are a majorly international couple. The pair splits their time between Los Angeles, Italy and London, making it tricky for his language-learning kiddos to pin down an exact accent.

According to Clooney, his twins are leaning more towards their mom’s way of speaking—with an English accent. The actor/dad told DeGeneres, “The other day I caught my son … my son said ‘zeb-ra,’” He added, “I’ve got to fix that. That’s not going to happen.”

When it comes to intelligence, Clooney boasts his tots also got their mom’s brain (not that he’s shabby in the smarts department). The proud papa added, “They’re not quite two and they can count from one to 20 in English and Italian. I’m still trying to do the English part!”

Let’s say the dating thing worked out and you met someone fantastic, and you are so excited and cannot wait for everyone to meet him because he is so great! While it is true a happy parent can make for happy children, it is necessary to be conscious about how a new partner can affect the dynamics with your kids. Deciding when and how to make an introduction between your significant other and your children must be done in a thoughtful manner where there is balance between all concerned parties—this includes you, your children, your new man, and yes, even your ex.

Dating while Divorcing
Depending on when you last dated, the sheer idea of re-entering the dating world can be overwhelming. If you have a new man in your life but you are still wearing the wedding ring given to you by your current husband, then do not (under almost any circumstance) introduce your new paramour to your kids. I realize in many affairs, the children have probably already made the acquaintance of the person you might be thinking of introducing them to—it might be a neighbor, a family friend, or even the husband of your PTA nemesis. Regardless, never let your kids find out about this relationship before your husband does.

Timing Is Important
If you have already fled for divorce and are separated from your husband, then we are dealing with a somewhat cleaner area when it comes to your love life. While you may have some stage fright, and you might also feel you are in no way ready to think about a new relationship, the time may come when you meet someone with whom you feel you could have a future. However, realize that introducing the idea of a new dad to your kids could easily make your ex freak out. Realize that you can even significantly destroy a relatively cordial split by making your ex feel threatened by the fact some guy is taking his place in his family.

See the Situation through the Eyes of Others
No matter who was responsible for pulling the plug on your marriage, it is imperative that you take a step back and consider the situation through your children’s and your ex’s eyes.  The idea of a new Mr. X fling a romantic void in your life could be disturbing to your ex and your children alike. Your kids have never seen you with anyone other than their father, and this could throw off their equilibrium.

In their thinking, if you have a new man in your life to replace their dad, does that mean you could have new kids someday too? In the children’s mind, you are their mom first, and anyone else should get their hands off! Remember that children can be just as possessive as your ex.

The Legalities of Dating Pre-divorce
One key issue to explore is where you are with custody and if there is the possibility of a custody fight presenting itself in the future. If there is the slightest chance of a custody dispute (meaning that a parenting agreement has not already been drafted and signed), I would strongly recommend no introduction be made to the person you have started dating. The last thing you need is your ex making it seem to a judge that you have poor judgment when introducing Mr. Rebound to your kids and letting him use the old toothbrush their father left behind.

A second consideration is specific language could be put into your separation agreement that any introduction to a significant other cannot occur unless the relationship has lasted for a certain amount of time. There can also be stipulations stating that if an introduction were to take place, the ex-spouse would be provided advance warning.

The purpose of this article is to provide some insight of why choosing a lifest‌yle newborn session is the right choice for a modern mom. Early on in my photography career, I followed some of the traditional concepts for newborn shoots.  The traditional method involves setting babies in adorable poses with prop equipment (e.g., beanbags, baskets) and accessories (e.g., headbands, hats).  However, over the years, I have discovered my love for lifest‌yle sessions.  The lifest‌yle method is a much more organic approach to capturing a newborn in the first few weeks of his or her precious life.  Lifest‌yle photography is about capturing your new baby in a very natural and honest way and it’s about portraying the special connection between the parents and child. It is minimalistic in approach with main focus on shared moments between family members and the natural beauty of a newborn baby.

Home Is Where The Heart Is.

A family’s home is an ideal location for a newborn session. Parents and children alike feel more comfortable at home.  The added comfort allows the family to feel more at ease.  As a result, the family is more likely to exhibit the unique aspects of their relationship with one another, including a shared love and happiness.  The home is also where a family spends a majority of their time after the birth of their child, and thus, is an appropriate stage for capturing these early moments.  Finally, in choosing to select the home as the setting for the newborn session, the family has the opportunity to show off the baby’s nursery.  At home session provides a perfect chance for parents to implement their own st‌yle. Parents often decorate their child’s nursery with such love and care that it would be a shame not to preserve its memory.

Natural Beauty.

The goal of a lifest‌yle newborn session is to photograph the baby in natural poses.  We want to capture the baby as he or she naturally lays, sleeps, explores her/his environment visually and even sometimes flashes a smile. In so doing, we can preserve a memory that reflects the true personality and uniqueness of each child.  A real memory, as opposed to just another cute picture.  Another goal is to use items that are on hand and specific to the family photographed while still trying to keep the environment simple and organic. Such items may include the baby’s blanket, stuffed animal, the parent’s favorite outfit for him or her, or a favorite swaddle.  Sometimes, even a family pet that loves to lay next to the child may end up being a great addition to a picture.

Families, Families, Families.

Lifest‌yle photography sessions do not solely focus on close-ups of the newborn.  Rather, an equal portion of the shoot is dedicated to photographing the family’s interaction: the emotion and joy between the parents, the parents and child(ren), and sometimes, the extended family.  I adore catching that perfect moment when a new dad looks at his bundle of joy with pure love in his eyes or that smile only a mom can make when looking at her newborn. Those honest connections are impossible to recreate in the studio environment.

Just Relax.

Unlike more traditional newborn sessions, lifest‌yle sessions are much more relaxed.  We don’t adhere to a strict timeline or design.  We go with the flow and let the child lead, relieving the stress normally attributed to traditional shoots.  When the baby sleeps, I have the opportunity to capture his or her natural un-posed beauty.  When the baby is awake, I can capture the parents cuddling or playing with him or her.  The relaxed environment helps the parents, who are already dealing with a great deal of stress, and also helps prevent the baby from getting upset. Baby doesn’t need to “perform” in any sort of way and parents get to enjoy all the moments as they naturally occur.

Timeless.

Traditional methods of posing or dressing a baby often follow popular st‌yles for the given period.  The problem is that such poses, props or outfits go out of st‌yle in time.  What might be popular today may look out-of-date when you later flip through your photo album.  A lifest‌yle session avoids the risk and temptation of temporary fads.  Instead, we capture the true and unique qualities of your newborn, family, and home.  These memories will never go out of st‌yle.

Emotional Storytelling

Lifest‌yle newborn session is not just about taking beautiful photos, it is about creating a story, a story that is specific only to the family photographed. The first moments when new life is brought into a home is the happiest of times. Parents are filled with emotions of love and joy. New experiences are created and shared. A lifest‌yle newborn session documents these special moments and at the same time conveys in the most authentic way a beautiful story of one’s life.

Ah, the elusive Instagram pic: angling the camera just-so and posing perfectly for a fab family photo isn’t exactly easy for anyone—including new dad Andy Cohen. The Real Housewives empresario and Watch What Happens Live host recently proved that celebs are just like us, especially when it comes to taking selfies with uncooperative babies.

Cohen’s St. Patrick’s Day ‘Gram features himself—clad in Snoopy shamrock-covered PJs—along with son, five-week-old Benjamin Allen and yes, even his dog Wacha, in matching jammies. Though the sweet scene really couldn’t be any cuter, little Benjamin didn’t look particularly thrilled to sit still for the photo.

While the photo may have brought the five-week-old to tears, it put smiles on plenty of celebs’ and reality stars’ faces. Actor Jerry O’Connell and Real Housewives‘ alums Kyle Richards, Lisa Rinna and Joey Gorga all posted their adoration for this aww-dorable pic in the comments.

In a fresh interview with PEOPLE, new dad Andy Cohen dished all about his beautiful baby boy and how his life has already changed for the better. The producer, Watch What Happens Live host and author welcomed his first child, Benjamin Allen Cohen, at the age of 50 on Feb. 4 via surrogate—and he’s nothing but glad he waited.

Cohen made sure he didn’t miss a thing, staking out a prime spot in the delivery room and even cutting the umbilical cord himself. After a quick clean up, he went skin-to-skin with his son and reveled in his new role as a papa.

Facing fatherhood at 50 doesn’t scare Cohen one bit. He tells PEOPLE that he has “a sense of calm that I didn’t have 10 [or] 20 years ago.” Perhaps fellow older dad George Clooney has some parenting wisdom he could throw his way?

Back in his home state of New York with baby in tow, Cohen is ready to get into the parenting game. With his network of support huddled around him, the Bravo TV host will surely wrangle midnight feedings and diaper changes like the pro he is.

If you haven’t seen this hilarious gender reveal prank, let us set the scene for you. After waiting until their baby made its grand debut, mom Daniella Moneta and her husband tricked their friends and fam in the hospital waiting room with this super clever gender reveal.

Pink is for girls and blue is for boys, right? Forget what you think you know about gender color codes—and that’s exactly what Moneta showed off in their now-viral gender reveal video on Instagram.

In this cute clip, the new dad unzips his sweatshirt to reveal a blue shirt. If you think that means the couple just had a boy—think again. Moneta unzips his sweatshirt all the way to reveal the BIG surprise, with a message in white that reads, “It’s a girl!”

Moneta and her husband planned their tricky reveal long before the birth. The new mama told POPSUGAR, “I knew once they saw a blue or pink shirt they would know right away if it was a boy or girl, so I figured, why not trick them a little? I made two shirts because my husband and I didn’t know what we were having, either.”

Tricky, tricky—and happy all around, too.

John Legend’s baby-filled Pampers’ Super Bowl commercial is ALL about the dads. With a little help from a chorus of fab fathers—and one notably famous face (and voice!)—this game day ad is pure parenting perfection.

Legend may have achieved rare EGOT status—but there’s no escaping the less-than-glamorous job of having to change your kid’s diaper, celeb dad or otherwise. If you missed Pamper’s “stinky booty” commercial during its Super Bowl debut, the commercial kicks off with something we’ve pretty much all had to deal with: one very stinky baby booty.

With a little backup from a chorus of crooning dads, Legend changes that diaper. But the commercial doesn’t end there. The diapering duty switches to another singing celeb and his beautiful baby. Yep. That’s Super Bowl halftime performer, Maroon 5 front-man (and new dad) Adam Levine.

Legend and Levine’s Super Bowl ad is part of Pamper’s “Love the Change” campaign, which celebrates the roles that dads have in their babies’ lives. In a recent press statement, Vice President and General Manager Baby Care North America for Proctor & Gamble, Andre Schulten, said, “We couldn’t think of a more fitting way to celebrate hands-on dads like John than by welcoming another fantastic dad, Adam Levine, into the Pampers family and taking the Stinky Booty Duty song to a whole new level on Super Bowl Sunday.”

Schulten went on to add, “Celebrating dads is just the beginning of a meaningful future for our brand, as we commit to helping parents to ‘love the change’ that comes with life with babies. While every transition might not be always be easy, Pampers wants to help parents and babies ‘love the change’ together.”

Earlier this week, the Cedar Rapids Fire Department delivered a baby during the Polar Vortex. While you might expect baby delivering duties to fall into the hands of an OB/GYN or midwife, when duty calls, these first responders came through in an amazing way.

Sometimes the birth plan doesn’t work out as hoped. When mama-to-be Cassy Abram and husband Scotty were told that Scotty Jr. just wasn’t ready for his grand debut, the expectant couple left the hospital and returned to their Cedar Rapids, Iowa home. But apparently Scotty Jr. wasn’t in agreement with the hospital staff’s assessment. Minutes after arriving home, Cassy was in labor and the baby was coming.

Imminently soon-to-be dad Scotty called the Cedar Rapids Fire Department and got to work actually delivering his baby. In an interview with CNN, Cassy’s aunt, Larissa Ruffin, said, “EMTsarrived about 10 minutes later and they let dad cut the umbilical cord on the living room floor.”

But wait, the story gets better. Not only did the unplanned home birth go flawlessly, the firefighters didn’t stop at the delivery. In a now-viral Facebook post, a pic of two firefighters shoveling the new family of three’s driveway melted hearts across the internet.

One commenter wrote, “Your firefighters rock! That took one huge weight off of a new dad’s shoulders, and let him enjoy some special time with his wife and new son. Those firefighters deserve a huge pat on the back, a warm blanket and some hot cocoa.”

Summing it up, another FB commenter added, “Well done! This was such a beautiful gesture and a nice reminder of the goodness in the world. Thank you for your work.”
