For the Gluten-free Dad

The Goods Mart

If the dad in your life is gluten-free, treat him to a custom Snack Box from The Goods Mart in Soho and watch him go crazy for the curated selection of non-GMO treats such as Pam’s Mushroom Jerky, Karma Nuts and Siete Grain-Free Tortilla Chips. Food is the lifeblood of our mind, body, and spirit,” says Rachel Krupa, founder. “The gift of healthy snacks creates a moment and a memory that will spark a smile.” This is a feel-good gift as well as the company is currently donating snack boxes to Memorial Sloan Kettering, NYU Langone, and Mount Sinai, as well as a handful of other hospitals in New York, Queens, and the Bronx. The company is also donating food to those that need it through the Food Bank For New York and donating 10% of snack box sales to the Restaurant Worker’s Relief Foundation.

PS!: During Monday’s protests in Soho, The Goods Mart was looted and damaged—storefront glass smashed through, and products stolen. Krupa quickly responded and with the support and help from the local community so that she can stay open to continue to support healthcare workers and provide goods to neighbors and essential workers. To add life back to her block, Krupa asked Muralists' Eric Friedensohn (@efdot@muralists) and Jessie Mordine Young (@jessiemordine), for help and they donated their time and created a uplifting and positive mural reading “Look Out For Each Other” for the boarded up storefront.

Bode & Morgan Miller Welcome Identical Twin Sons

And People’s “Cutest Baby Alive” 2019 Is…

Congrats go out to Olympic skier Bode Miller and his wife Morgan. The couple recently welcomed twin boys—and the birth story is one you can’t miss!

The couple, who already have four children (and tragically lost daughter Emmy to drowning in 2018) reveled their baby boy joy on Today, via a phone interview, saying, “They finally arrived. They had us waiting and waiting and waiting.”

Bode went on to add, “The birth story was actually one of the more crazy things that I’ve ever experienced, and you guys know that I’ve seen a thing or two in my life.” As it turns out, the babies were quicker to arrive than the couple’s midwives. This left the Miller fam to fend for themselves during the delivery process. The Olympic skier continued, “By the time they [the midwives] got there, me and my mom were both holding the babies.”

When Today co-anchor Craig Melvin asked Bode if he delivered his own children, the new dad responded, “Yeah. Luckily my mom was a midwife, but she hadn’t delivered babies in 20 plus years, and she’d never delivered twins.”

Even though the birth didn’t go exactly as planned, both identical twins were healthy and both parents are certainly happy! Morgan also chimed in on the birth, saying, “I’m doing really well. We’re still floating from the whole experience. It was so amazing.”

As of now the Millers haven’t chosen names for the boys, with Bode noting, “We’ll come up with something. They have such different personalities right now, it’s going to be cool to kind of let them be for a little bit.”
