DoorDash’s survey found that more time spent cooking is tiring people out. 70% of those surveyed said they are spending more time in the kitchen and 47% report that they are tired of cooking. 25% will order more food when they get takeout so that they will have leftovers for the next day.

Almost half of respondents are most tired of cooking chicken, followed by pasta and microwave meals. While tired of cooking chicken, Americans aren’t sick of ordering in chicken. Chicken Sandwich with french fries was the top food item ordered on DoorDash this year, with Chicken Fajitas also making the list as the 8th most ordered item.

While our Instagram feeds were flooded with pictures of banana bread, cookies are filling cravings for comfort food with 60% of those surveyed saying they baked chocolate chip cookies during the pandemic. Cookies also surged in order frequency, with Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookies seeing a 1,193% increase in orders compared to the first half of 2019.

People missing eating out, especially Mexican food and margaritas, and sushi. Americans made up for missing eating Mexican and Seafood out by ordering these cuisines in–the top items ordered this year on DoorDash include Spicy Shrimp Tacos (3rd most ordered item), California Roll (6th most ordered), Breakfast Burritos (7th most ordered), Chicken Fajitas (8th most ordered), Spicy Tuna Roll (9th most ordered) and Fish & Chips (10th most ordered). Top trending Mexican items ordered on DoorDash include Queso Blanco (1,735% increase), Grilled Chicken Tacos (1,502% increase), Cheese Nachos (1,130% increase), Shrimp Tacos (997% increase), and Chicken Fajitas (318% increase).

DoorDash

The west coast disagrees: their top response is sushi, edging Mexican food 36% to 34%. Top DoorDash orders from West Coasters support this, with Sushi and Seafood being the dominant items ordered in LA and Seattle, respectively, and West Coast top dinner items including Spicy Tuna Rolls and Dragon Rolls

The pandemic has caused food habits to change. Of those surveyed, 45% have tried at least one of three select new food habits. Intermittent fasting is especially popular with older millennials (25-34-year-olds) as 40% say they’ve tried it. Plant based eating is also on the rise. 18-24 year olds ranked plant-based as the most appetizing vegan dish and DoorDash orders for Plant-based Burgers surged 443% increase in 2020.

DoorDash

The largest amount spent on a single DoorDash food order this year was an order worth $2,578 that included 70 orders of Mediterranean herb chicken, 40 orders of grilled vegetables, and 20 cheese plates.

As parents of rapidly growing little humans, there’s a good chance most of us aren’t quite getting it right when it comes to shoes for kids. Should it be snug? Do we leave a lot of room to grow? Luckily for the parenting universe, an innovative shoe line designed to give growing feet plenty of options (and help you figure out that whole kids’ shoe size chart thing) just hit the market. From a patented Fit Finder to a personalized shopping experience, keep reading to find out everything you need to know about Ten Little.

What It Is

Ten Little is both a shoe company and data platform, allowing parents to accurately determine the right size shoe for their child (according to stats, two out of three kids wear the wrong size).

It began when founder Fatma Collins’ daughter was about to start walking. She says, “As a new mom, I found myself struggling with knowing which shoes would support healthy development, and which sizes were right for my daughter. When she was about to walk for the first time, I measured her foot, ordered what should have in theory been the right size, but when they arrived, I couldn’t even get her foot in the shoe. From there, I ordered multiple sizes and styles and guessed which one might be a good fit by trying to feel her toes and heel. Given how quickly she was growing, I had to do this all over again every few months—all the while thinking there had to be a better way.”

Ten Little’s vegan shoes were designed in collaboration with world-class physicians, in hopes of creating a product that supports natural development and movement (think flat, flexible soles). Each pair also comes with fun stickers, so kids can have shoes that are unique to their style and personality.

What Makes It Different

You might be thinking this is just another sneaker/tennis shoe for kids. Well, besides the fit indicator that’s printed on the insole and the puzzle piece characters that help kids learn which shoe goes where, parents also have the option of taking a quiz on the website that’ll ask a few questions about foot length, current size and preferred brand of shoe. You have the option to submit your kids’ birthdays (so Ten Little can keep up with growth) and answer other questions that’ll personalize the shopping experience.

Once Ten Little has all the info, they’ll send you updates and reminders that your kids, depending on their growth predictor, should be ready for a new pair of shoes. They’ll also send recommendations for colors, seasons and you can even reorder via text. What happens to the old pairs? Ten Little has partnered with Soles for Souls, so you can donate the outgrown shoes to kids in need. It’s pretty simple: when you size up with Ten Little, they will automatically include a prepaid shipping label in your reorder, so you can donate your child’s outgrown shoes for free.

The Details:

The shoes retail at $39, with free shipping and returns

If you want to know where to go for the best Shirley Temples in the country, just six-year-old Leo Kelly––the Shirley Temple King! The suddenly Insta-famous kiddo is an undisputed aficionado whose now-viral video clips feature reviews of the grenadine-packed non-alcoholic family fave.

The pint-sized reviewer rates the drinks on his own scale of one to 10, also giving his viewers commentary on the grenadine vs. Sprite ratio, cup choice and how many cherries are included.

Even though the six-year-old’s parents started The Shirley Temple King Instagram page last summer, Leo’s reviews only recently took-off. After a review of Longhorn Steakhouse’s Shirley Temple went viral on Twitter, Leo’s IG page went from 300 followers to well over 21,000.

If you’re wondering how the Kelly family came up with this genius (and totally helpful) idea, dad, Tom, told People, “We were on vacation at Gurney’s in Newport, Rhode Island, when Leo ordered a Shirley Temple at the pool and said ‘Dad I think I have an idea’…and the rest is history.”

Amazon wants to make returns even easier! The mega e-tailer recently announced that its’s giving at least one free return to customers—and you won’t even have to pay for the packaging or print a label!

While some items, such as clothing, shoes and bedding, were already eligible for free returns, Amazon has now expanded the option. The current expansion includes electronics, household items, pet supplies, kitchen appliances and more.

Libby Johnson McKee, Director, Amazon WW Returns and ReCommerce, said in a press release, “At Amazon, we’re constantly innovating on the customer experience – not only when purchasing an item, but also making a return.” Johnson McKee continued, “With free returns on millions of items, customers don’t need to worry if the keyboard they ordered doesn’t feel quite right or if their dog likes his new bed—they can buy with confidence, knowing they’ll be able to return it for free with just a few easy clicks.”

How can you get your free return? Just select the item you want to send back and the reason for the return on the “Your Orders” page of either the Amazon app or website. Amazon will give you a list of return options, including a free drop-off location. Just bring your item to the drop-off location and, in most cases, you’ll get a refund within two hours.

Free drop-off locations include over 18,000 options, such as Amazon Books stores, Amazon 4-star stores, Amazon Hub locations, select Whole Foods Market stores and eligible third party retailers (including UPS and Kohl’s).

Not only will Amazon give you one free return, but the company is committed to making this process more sustainable. Your no-cost return allows you to choose a label- and box-free option. Instead of printing, labeling and packaging your return, Amazon will provide you with a QR code for the participating location’s staff to scan. They’ll then pack and ship your item, consolidating packages when possible.

Of course, there is some fine print. Return-eligible items must weigh under 50 pounds. Only products sold and fulfilled by Amazon (not third-party sellers) are eligible for this service. You can return any new/unused item (in the select categories) for any reason, but you only have 30 days from the day of delivery. Customers must return holiday items shipped and fulfilled by Amazon between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31, 2019 no later than Jan. 31, 2020.

LC’s newest addition made his first family Christmas card debut recently—and the nine-week-old is every bit as adorable as you’d imagine.

Former reality star/current designer Lauren Conrad announced the birth of baby boy Charlie Wolf Tell back in October, with a sweet Instagram painting pic post. Now the mama to two (Conrad and husband William Tell also have a two-year-old son, Liam James), is sharing the family of four’s “joyous” holiday card.

Even though the family may look picture-perfect in the IG post, Conrad’s caption says something very different—and very real. Along with the pic, the mommy to two writes, “Happy Holidays!! Time to pin down your children to brush their hair and keep them clean in the outfits you spent hours shopping for, cleaning and laying so you can take 1000 photos all to get one usable option that says “We’ve got it together! We always wear this much white and no one in this photo has spit up in their hair.”.”

Conrad continues, “And then once the cards arrive you get up at 6 AM to stuff envelopes because you meant to send them out days ago only to realize that the special holiday stamps you ordered were accidentally thrown out… and at this point your just hoping they are delivered before the new year.”

As if that’s not enough reality from the former reality star, Conrad comically adds, “Anyone who manages to get their pets into family photos deserves a medal.”
