That’s why we’re introducing HoliDeals, which will feature savings on thousands of items throughout the season, and it all kicks off this weekend.”

Gomez added, “Our expanded Black Friday Preview Sale is just the beginning of a season full of savings. And with our biggest investment ever in guest service, our teams will be ready to help guests shop and save with ease this holiday season.”

Target’s Black Friday Two-Day Preview Sale runs from Nov. 8-9 and shoppers can score deals in retail stores or online at Target.com. Last fall Disney teased the live-action remake of Aladdin with a sneak-peek trailer. But that wasn’t the end of the pre-movie magic. In March Disney released a full-length trailer and everyone was absolutely obsessed. Now, with less than a month until the movie’s big-screen debut, Disney’s at it again.

The newest teaser, which Disney posted on its Facebook page, prominently features the sweet love story between Jasmine and Aladdin. And of course, it includes the epic soundtrack song “A Whole New World.” But that’s not all. Expect action, adventure and some serious style.

What else does this mid-April teaser spill? From Will Smith’s Genie to flying carpets, this preview has everything you’re hoping to see. Bonus: viewers are also treated to a look into Princess Jasmine’s fantastically fab wardrobe (we see Jasmine Halloween costumes galore in your kiddo’s future).

The dinosaurs are roaring back to life at Universal Studios as Jurassic World The Ride is set to reopen this summer. While we don’t know a ton about the revamped attraction, Universal Studios just released a teaser trailer and it looks like the stuff dinosaur nightmares are made of!

According to a press release from Universal Studios, the new Jurassic World The Ride will feature newly-themed environments and add some new dinosaurs featured in the Jurassic World films. It will also be themed around a new storyline that draws from the way the park is designed in both Jurassic World films and will take place on the day the Indominus rex escapes. You can sneak the preview below.

Everything from the rafts to the iconic gateway that visitors enter through—and of course the dinosaurs—has been reimagined by a dream team of park designers and Academy Award-winning special-effects visionaries at Industrial Light & Magic. The ride queue will also feature new videos that feature facts and information about the dinosaurs within the ride.

Near the end of the trailer, we also see that the aquatic Mosasaurus makes an appearance in her natural habitat––a three million gallon glass encased Aquarium Observatory tank. Hold on to your butts!

The ride isn’t the only thing getting a makeover. The kids’ Dino Play area where young fans to little to ride will inevitably be spending their time, adding more hand-on activities, like excavations and investigating giant dinosaur fossils. You’ll also be able to enjoy The Raptor Encounter area will be adding velociraptor Blue along with other raptors for photo opps.

There is no official date yet, but Jurassic World The Ride will reopen summer 2019.

We finally know the name of the latest installment of the Star Wars trilogy. But that’s not all. Fans of the franchise were treated to the official teaser debut last week at a convention in Chicago. Don’t worry if you missed it—the trailer is available for you below.

The third installment in the sequel trilogy beginning with The Force Awakes is finally here…well, almost. Even though the movie won’t hit the big screen until December, the newly released preview of Star Wars: The Rise of the Skywalker gave us all something to not-so-patiently look forward to.

Forget about the old boys club. The teaser for Episode IX kicks off with female lead Rey (played by Daisy Ridley) and the words “Every generation has a legend.” Along with Rey, the clip also featured the late Carrie Fisher (as the iconic Leia, of course) and other characters such as Billy Dee William’s Lando Calrissian, John Boyega’s Finn and Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren.

The film, which is directed by J.J. Abrams takes place after Rian Johnson’s The Last Jedi. While Abrams hasn’t given away the whole story, judging by the end of the teaser (a cackling laugh) we can expect to see the return of Emperor Palpatine.

Star Wars: the Rise of Skywalker opens in theaters just in time for Christmas 2019, with a debut date scheduled for Dec. 20.

Hollywood is making strides to ensure that productions feature more diversity, but this weekend’s box office hit Little might signal a big first with its 14-year old producer.

Marsai Martin known for her role as Diane Johnson in ABC’s Emmy-nominated hit series Black-ish made her producing debut this weekend in Little. Marsai was just ten-years-old when she pitched the idea of the film to Black-ish creator Kenya Barris and Will Packer, the producer behind the hit movies, like Girls Trip and Night School.

Even at ten Marsai noticed that no body swap films, which are a successful Hollywood genre (think Big and Freaky Friday) starred black women so she decided it was time to get one made. The film, which stars a trio of black actresses including Issa Rae and Regina Hall is also directed by a woman, with many women also working behind the scenes.

“She is going to be a force in our industry for a very long time,” producer Packer told the crowd gathered to preview the film at the Cinemacon convention in Las Vegas earlier this month. “It was my privilege to say yes to her.”

Marsai might be a little producer, but its clear from this film’s success that she is destined for big things.

Sorry Geoffrey, we hope you didn’t get too comfortable in retirement, because there’s a chance that Toys”R”Us is coming back. According to reports from The Wall Street Journal, the beloved toy store may not be so dead and gone as we all thought earlier this year. It looks like the Toys”R”Us we grew up with might be reincarnated as something a little different.

If you’re confused, you aren’t alone. The mega-toy retailer famously closed its doors this summer following a downturn in sales, and eventually bankruptcy. Despite this, Toys”R”Us is still poised to make a comeback—we just don’t know all the details of exactly how or when—but we do have some clues.

Photo: Philip Pessar via Flickr

Instead of going ahead with the previously scheduled bankruptcy auction, the controlling lenders decided not to sell off the retailer’s intellectual property assets. This includes the brand names Toys”R”Us and Babies”R”Us, along with the image and character of Geoffrey the Giraffe and multiple domain names.

The group of private equity funds that currently owns the controlling stake in the now-closed toy retailer has a re-organization plan in the works. So what would that look like? Reportedly, the hedge fund funders want to re-launch the brand as a toy wholesale business.

But there’s also this curious tidbit as the The Toy Association’s annual Fall Toy Preview gets underway in Dallas, Texas. Geoffrey the Giraffe has been spotted on the trade show floor! Note what’s on his cape: “Back from Vacation.”

But he’s not carrying his previous “Toys”R”Us” mantel, instead attached to a company called “Geoffrey’s Toy Box.” According to The Toy Book, a leading toy trade magazine, the company has been restructured as Geoffrey, LLC.

Richard Barry, executive vice president of global merchandising at Geoffrey LLC, told The Toy Book that Geoffrey’s Toy Box is a new initiative for the re-organized company. Per The Toy Box:

Barry told The Toy Book exclusively that the company will launch a “shop-within-a-shop” concept, called Geoffrey’s Toy Box, with a prominent regional midwest retailer this November. The concept will feature a train of branded Geoffrey’s Toy Box displays.

Hmmm…curiouser and curiouser! For now, we’ll just have to wait and see what’s next for Geoffrey the Giraffe.

With Halloween just around the corner, there’s about to be a steady stream of frightfully fun TV shows and movies just about everywhere. A British CBBC fave arrives stateside this October, adding to your Halloween horrors. So what is this new-to-Netflix show? It’s Creeped Out on Netflix and it’s basically this generation’s Are You Afraid of the Dark?.

Creeped Out is a a horror anthology series—think of it as a modern Twilight Zone-ish option for a younger audience. While your pre-k kiddo will probably get pretty “creeped out” by this show, your tween is likely to become an instant fan. Netflix recommends the show for kids ages 8 and up.

Photo: CBBC via YouTube

Even though the series isn’t exactly a rainbows, puppies and unicorns type of show, it’s not all doom, gloom and darkness. Co-creator Bede Blake told website Den of Geek!, “Some of the episodes have a happy ending.” Bede also added, “…but some don’t. They have ambiguous or twist endings, or endings you don’t expect.”

Before you brush off this show as TV for kids, the co-creators envisioned it as something that parents would want to watch just as much as their children, saying, “We had this idea that if a child is watching it and a parent walks past then they would be hooked into it too.” Check out the series preview below for all the creepy highlights.

When can you watch Creeped Out? Even though the first 13-episode season has already aired in the United Kingdom, those of us in the United States can start binge-watching the show on Netflix beginning Oct. 4.
