Jory – Teeny Tiny Foodie

Produce Pick: Tomatoes

Jory's Teeny Tiny Foodie (aka as her daughter Eliana) began eating solids when she was around 6-7 months of age. Ever since then Jory set a goal to cook all of her daughter's food herself. With this mighty endeavor underway, Jory learned a ton about food concepts, educating her daughter about where food comes from, and a slew of new recipes. When we caught up with Jory and asked about her farmers market picks she told us, "It's really hard to choose one piece of produce I love from the farmers market, but since I have to choose one I'll choose tomatoes. We love tomatoes in my family! They are so versatile since they can be added to salads, eggs, pasta or grains. As the family's head chef, I love that tomatoes can be enjoyed raw or cooked; there are endless ways they can be prepared. My family especially loves grape tomatoes and cherry tomatoes because they are easily portable and make a great snack either alone or when paired with nuts or cheese."

Jory tells us that Caprese Salad Strata is one of her family's all-time favorite recipes. Check it out here, and then head to TeenyTinyFoodie.com (the winner of Red Tricycle's Totally Awesome Award for Most Awesome Family Recipes) for more great ideas.

What’s your favorite farmers market find? And, do you have a great recipe that goes along with your seasonal produce pick?
