This Is How Families Plan to Spend Easter in 2021

How will you celebrate Easter in 2021? OnePoll (on behalf of HI-CHEW) recently conducted a survey of 2,000 American parents and the results show that family, safety and holiday traditions are key to this year’s celebrations.

According to OnePoll’s results, 73 percent of parents rank celebrating with extended family as the best part of Easter. Of course, with the “new normal” changing almost everything about anything parents do, this extended family type of Easter awesomeness won’t look the same in 2021.

Eighty-one percent of the parents surveyed agree they need to find a “safe” way to bring their families together this year. This includes virtual gatherings and Easter egg hunts as well as outdoor activities such as picnics.

If you’re planning a classic Easter-time egg dying day type of holiday event, you aren’t alone. OnePoll’s survey found 41 percent of parents will have this sort of Easter activity at their own home this year. Another 42 percent plan on having an Easter celebration at a family member’s house, while 24 percent say they’ll go to a church, 18 percent plan on a public park day and 14 percent will dine out at a restaurant.

To make the day safer, 67 percent of survey participants say hand washing and sanitizing is an important part of their Easter day, 64 percent plan to wear masks/face coverings in public, 51 percent will spend family time in a social distant outdoor space and 25 percent will call ahead to make restaurant reservations.

Along with where they’ll spend the holiday and how they’ll maintain a safe celebration setting, the surveyed families also reported on their top Easter activities. A whopping 83 percent will have an Easter egg hunt, 69 percent will eat candy, 69 percent will dye eggs, 58 percent will take fam photos, 57 percent will make a holiday dinner, 51 percent will put together Easter baskets and 42 percent will get crafty with Easter projects.

If you’re wondering how much candy other parents buy or how much they allow their kiddos to eat, the survey has answers. The parents surveyed said they’ll buy an average of four bags of candy and will allow their children to eat 12 pieces!

The Hot Wheels Legends Tour Is Racing Into 2021

The Hot Wheels Legends Tour is back! Now in its fourth year, the 2021 tour will kick off with virtual events and eventually expand into in-person awesomeness.

Presented by Mobil 1, the Hot Wheel Legends Tour is open for fan submissions. This means fans will get their chance to enter their cool cars to become the next 1:64 die-cast toy model.

Ted Wu, Global Head of Hot Wheels Design at Mattel, said in a press release, “Finding time to build isn’t always easy, but with many spending more time at home in the garage over the past year, we expect to see so many more passion-project submissions for the 2021 Hot Wheels Legends Tour.”

The 2021 tour will include regional winners and a Mobil 1 Fan Favorite. These cars are entered into the semi-finals—with 10 finalists chosen. Hot Wheels will reveal the champion in November at the tour’s grand finale event.

Events will span the globe, with live and virtual tour stops starting this spring in New Zealand (Apr. 15), Australia (Apr. 22) and the United States and Canada (Apr. 29). Visit the Hot Wheels Legends Tour website for more information.

The New adidas x LEGO Line Is Ninjago Awesomeness

LEGO and adidas are teaming up for yet another completely cool collab. The two iconic brands brought your sneaker-loving, brick-building kiddo the AZX800 shoe in September 2020 and now LEGO and adidas are ready to launch a DOTS and NINJAGO themed line!

The LEGO DOTS and NINJAGO lines feature apparel and footwear inspired by the beloved bricks. Look for plenty of colors and creativity in the fun new for-the-kiddos collab!

According to a press release, the adidas x LEGO DOTS line has, “Playful designs will spark imagination and convey a simple message to children that it’s their world, they make the rules and can make it as vivid as they like.”

Unicorns, Flying Pomeranians & the Return of “My Little Pony!”

My Little Pony is getting a makeover. Hasbro’s entertainment studio Entertainment One recently announced the upcoming release of theatrical-quality CG animation film and a new series debuting on Netflix later this year!

The iconic world of Equestria is expanding. In the new My Little Pony franchise film, the beloved brand will introduce a new generation of adorable awesomeness and cute cartoons (or rather, CG animated) creatures.

My Little Pony’s latest creation features a divided world, where the Ponies are separated into species. Your kiddo will get to know Sunny Starscout, an idealistic young pony who just doesn’t fit in with the rest of the Earth Pony townies. When Izzy the Unicorns wanders into town, Sunny befriends the magical being and takes off on an out-of-this-world adventure. The pair travel to far away lands, face their fears, turn old enemies into friends, and so much more.

As if Sunny and Izzy’s My Little Pony adventures aren’t enough, the film also includes the “world’s cutest” flying Pomeranian and a cast of characters your kiddo is sure to love.

The CG animated Netflix film isn’t the end of the newest My Little Pony saga. Sunny Starscout and her friends will return to the streaming service for an all-new series this fall.

Walt Disney World Resort is turning the big 5-0—and there’s plenty of bday magic for the whole fam to enjoy!

Get ready for “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” at the Florida resort. Starting Oct. 1, 2021 guests can enjoy new experiences in the resort’s four theme parks. Along with the all-new experience awesomeness, the Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Park will get a royal makeover. Look for new gold bunting, gold embellishments and more.

At night the Cinderella Castle will transform into one of the resort’s new Beacons of Magic, glowing with a radiant light display. Other resort landmarks, such as Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park’s Tree of Life, EPCOT’s Spaceship Earth and Disney’s Hollywood Studios’s Hollywood Tower Hotel will also glow as Beacons of Magic during the 50th anniversary celebration.

The Cinderella Castle isn’t the only fave park fixture to get an anniversary upgrade. Mickey and Minnie are also getting a sparkling makeover. The iconic pair will sport custom-made looks in EARidescent fabric with shining gold highlights.

Krispy Kreme brought back their Gingerbread Original Filled doughnut—and it has a cheesecake kreme center! Along with the cheesecake kreme-filled goodness, Krispy Kreme is also bringing back an old holiday favorite, the Gingerbread Glazed doughnut, too.

“Everyone on the nice list deserves our delicious, melt-in-your-mouth Gingerbread Glazed Doughnuts,” said Dave Skena, Chief Marketing Officer of Krispy Kreme. “We’re happy to bring back this holiday favorite.”
