Ford issued a recall for nearly 2.2 million vehicles in the U.S. from model years 2011 to 2016 to replace faulty door latches, which can become unlatched while driving.

Ford

The recall, involving numerous models of Ford and Lincoln sedans, crossovers, and vans, covers vehicles that were recalled in 2015 and 2016 for the same issue but may have not had all of the latches replaced or, if they were replaced, it may have been done incorrectly.

The recall population was determined based on a Ford investigation that found that some latches were not replaced or replaced correctly during recalls 15S16 and 16S30. Ford will be providing the means for the customers to self-inspect and report via a website or an inspection at a dealership to determine if the door latches were replaced correctly.

The affected vehicles include 2011–2014 Fiesta, 2013–2014 Fusion, 2015 Mustang, 2013–2015 Escape, 2013–2015 C-Max, 2012–2015 Focus, 2014–2016 Transit Connect, 2013–2014 Lincoln MKZ, and 2015 MKC vehicles.

Owners can inspect the latches on their vehicle and submit the latch date codes online to see if they need to be replaced. They can also bring their vehicles to their local Ford dealer where they can have the latches inspected.

Ford will replace defective latches free of charge. Ford owners can contact Ford customer service at 866–436–7332 or check the NHTSA recalls website to see if their vehicle is involved in the recall.

When the Clearwater Marine Aquarium (CMA) rescued an Atlantic dolphin off the coast of Siesta Key, Florida back in July 2019, they had no idea that he would soon become a resident of their facility forever. After being nursed back to health from a severe case of pneumonia, it was determined that the 26-year old dolphin had hearing loss and wasn’t fit to be released back into the wild.

In the months since his recovery, CMA was thrilled to offer residency in their Dolphin Terrace. Not only that, they are asking the public for help in giving him a new name!

Now through Jun. 7, anyone can send in their submission to give the 700-pound dolphin his very own name. All you have to do is visit SeeWinter.com by June 7 and submit your idea!

The soon-to-be named dolphin will join a few famous friends from the Dolphin Tale movies, Winter and Hope. Not only that, his other CMA neighbors will include nurse sharks, sea turtles, otters and pelicans.

A 9-year-old girl from Michigan has taken imaginative play to the next level. This aspiring fashion designer has a special gift for dressing her Barbie dolls. Recently, she even caught the eye of Mattel.

Sha’Kvia Woods, Nevaeh’s mom knew her daughter was a fashionista from an early age. She said, “She would always carry a Barbie doll around with her trying her best to match her doll’s clothing with her outfit for the day.”

While Nevaeh has always been very creative, over the past six months she started expressing a desire to design clothing. After Neveah told her mom, “You must create the life you want.” they purchased enough supplies to get her started.

Nevaeh draws her inspiration from her mother and both of her grandmothers. From a young age she would critique their outfits and pick out their accessories. Woods said, “She is very particular and knows exactly what she likes. I have to say she is definitely a natural.”

When Woods posted Neveah’s designs on her Facebook page, she didn’t expect to go viral, garnering nearly 9,000 shares. Mattel took notice and a representative from Barbie’s social team reached out to the budding designer.

Since receiving a package of new Barbie dolls from Mattel, Nevaeh has continued designing new looks. She currently crafts her outfits using scissors, socks and a hot glue gun, but she is determined to learn how to sew.

Going forward Nevaeh has her sights set high. In the future, she hopes to see her designs on a runway in Paris.

Woods said that when her daughter puts her mind to something, she is unstoppable.

You might dread cleaning your house, but the truth is once you start you actually feel pretty great. A study reveals why cleaning feels so satisfying and it’s not just because you can finally see the floor again.

The Mr. Clean Cleaning Rush Study conducted in partnership with Ipsos Public Affairs tracked the biometric response to cleaning using wearable devices and found that cleaning stimulates an adrenaline rush. The tracking devices measured the Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) and Heart Rate (HR) of participants and found that while cleaning, changes were observed. This shift was driven by feelings of emotional enthusiasm and excitement, much like watching a sporting event.

Participants were also surveyed on their feelings about cleaning and a whopping 100 percent agreed that cleaning provides peace of mind and a sense of control over one’s environment. Among those surveyed, 82 percent also strongly agreed they like to admire their work after a good clean and 81 percent felt a sense of accomplishment when they finished.

“Cleaning anything, whether it’s wiping smudges off your fridge or removing greasy build up from your car’s wheels, can boost your mood and give you a sense of pride for a job well done,” said Dr. Jennifer Hartstein, clinical psychologist. “This positive mental boost can lead to an increased desire to continue cleaning and ultimately results in a truly satisfying experience that leaves the cleaner feeling accomplished.”

The study also found that those enthusiastic feelings that cleaning elicits can often push you to clean more than you had planned for. Two-thirds of the study’s participants strongly agreed that they often cleaned more than they originally set out to and 82 percent of the participants agreed to clean an optional sticky kitchen mess that hadn’t been on their original task list.

After cleaning, participants reported feeling more determined, inspired and proud, and less jittery, nervous and hostile. So the next time your kids are driving you crazy, you might consider swapping that glass of rosé for a sponge.

Not one to act as a helicopter, Jo captioned the photo, “She was determined to make up her own cookie recipe and I left the kitchen so she could surprise me (and so i wouldn’t micromanage her work in the kitchen.”

The Magnolia mogul continued, “Let’s just say this was one of my favorite cookies I’ve ever tasted! It was like a perfect blend of a shortbread cookie and chocolate chip cookie topped with a yummy icing.”

Not only did Emmie create her own recipe, but she’s also a budding author. Joanna continued, “I also love what she named them in her little cookbook, “Emmie Kay’s chocolate chip kisses cookie.”
