No matter how many books you read or classes you take, becoming a parent is always different than your expectations. One mom has captured exactly what that feeling is like in a series of  totally relatable and hilarious comics.

Like most of us, when Michelle Lin became a mom, things weren’t exactly as she anticipated. She started a series titled Milk Rice Comics to illustrate what motherhood is really like, compared to what she had expected, and the results are hilarious.

“No one had warned me about how difficult breastfeeding could be, neither my friends nor the breastfeeding books I read while I was pregnant,” Lin told HuffPost. “Something else I did not expect was how much babies ― at least mine ― move around when you’re changing their diapers! We had practiced changing diapers on dolls in our parenting class, and definitely weren’t prepared for wriggly newborns or, later on, babies who would stand up mid-diaper change and try to walk around on the dresser!”

Her comics have resonated with plenty of other parents in the same boat. “Every time I post a new comic, a lot of people comment with similar stories, or with supportive words,” Lin said. “I really love the community that has grown around the comics.”

Peppa Pig is such an influential show, it has even given American kids British accents. And now the show that highlights inclusivity with a cast full of foxes, elephants, pigs and more has just added a new character. Meet the new Peppa Pig character Mandy Mouse.

Mandy Mouse is the show’s first character that uses a wheelchair. Mandy made her debut on the official Peppa Pig Twitter feed. The tweet’s caption read, “Squeak! Giving the playgroup a brief glimpse of the newest member of their beloved show.”

The video in the post features Madam Gazelle introducing Mandy to the play class. Mandy arrives with her mom and the class welcomes her with a unanimous “Hello.” Twitter users were quick to comment, explaining how much the addition means to kids growing up with disabilities.

Jo Chopra McGowan, Co-founder, Latika Roy Foundation, an organization that supports families and kids with disabilities explained that the welcome that didn’t require much fanfare was the best possible way to introduce a character like Mandy. “They are already there and they don’t have to be introduced”, McGowan said. The fact that there wasn’t much drama about it reflects how kids with disabilities should be treated McGowan explained.

Supermodel and super-mama Chrissy Teigen’s Instagram feed is filled with sweet family pics. When Teigen recently posted a video of her two-year-old daughter Luna seeing her “big girl” bed for the first time, one follower had something not-so-G-rated to say.

We all know Teigen as a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model—but we also know her as a cookbook author, kitchenware designer for Target and, of course, mom! Sadly, some people just can’t see past Teigen’s days of modeling.

Instead of adding to the slew of sweet sentiments, focusing on Luna’s adorable reaction to her new bed, one commenter wrote, “Bikini pics only, you were a model nobody cares about your kids.” Like, seriously dude?

Obviously the comment didn’t sit well with Teigen, who is more than used to getting IG and Twitter flack. The model-turned-mama clapped back with her own comment, “yeah well now that I’ve had kids you don’t wanna see me in a bikini so it’s quite the dilemma.”

If you missed the comment, you aren’t alone. With over 11,300 comments on Teigen’s post, plenty of us did. Luckily, the IG account Comments by Celebs found this little clap-back gem to share with the Insta-world!

According to recent reports, Amazon grocery stores are coming—and soon. The Wall Street Journal recently reported that the online retailer is preparing to open brick-and-mortar stores in several major cities. Bigger news still? They won’t be Whole Foods stores, either.

Amazon has already entered the grocery arena with its stake in Whole Foods Markets and high-tech cashier-less Amazon Go stores. This recent news could mean Amazon’s reported new stores will carry more traditional types of groceries at a lower price point. In other words, something other than those high-priced organics at Whole Foods Market that have earned the store an unfortunately nickname of “Whole Paycheck.”

So when and where can we expect to see these stores? As of now, Amazon is keeping mum on the subject. An Amazon representative told Red Tricycle via email, “Amazon doesn’t comment on rumors or speculation.” So it’s entirely possible these new stores are a no-go—at least according to this official non-comment.

But if the rumors are true, The Wall Street Journal reports the first store opening in Los Angeles, California by the end of 2019. The Journal’s source also added Amazon is considering opening additional grocery store locations in San Francisco as well as Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Chicago, Illinois; Seattle, Washington and Washington, D.C.

Do you own a Ford F-150? If so, you need to know about a major Ford vehicle recall of 6-speed automatic transmission vehicles for an unintended downshift safety risk. This recall affects 1.48 million vehicles in North America. This includes 1.26 million in the United States and an additional 221,000 in Canada. Representatives from Ford Motor Company did not immediately respond to Red Tricycle’s request for comment.

Along with this recall, Ford Motor Company also announced two other recalls: one for select 2017 to 2019 Lincoln Continentals for door latches that may fail to engage and select 2019 Ford Mustang, Lincoln Nautilus and Lincoln Navigator vehicles for blank instrument panel cluster assemblies.

Recall Description: Ford F-150 Trucks

The current Ford F-150 recall includes 2011 to 2013 models built at the Dearborn Assembly Plant between Apr. 28, 2010 and Oct. 28, 2013 as well as vehicles built at the Kansas Assembly Plant between May 18, 2010 and Nov. 18, 2013. All recalled vehicles have 6-speed automatic transmissions.

Why the F-150s Trucks Were Recalled

According to a press statement from Ford, the vehicles may “experience an intermittent loss of the transmission output speed sensor signal to the powertrain control module, potentially resulting in a temporary, unintended downshift into first gear.” This can result in loss of vehicle control.

As of now, there are five reports of accidents resulting from this problem. Out of the five accidents, there is one potentially related case of whiplash.

How to Tell if Your Ford Was Recalled

Again, this recall only includes 2011, 2012 and 2013 Ford F-150 trucks manufactured at the Dearborn Assembly Plant and Kansas City Assembly Plant between the specified dates.

If you’re not sure whether your F-150 is included in the recall, contact your Ford dealer immediately.

What Ford Owners Can Do

Contact your Ford dealer for an update to the powertrain control module software immediately. Failure to do so may result in a serious crash safety risk.

Fans of the film This Is 40 may remember a dejected Leslie Mann starring at an oh-so-perky Megan Fox, wistfully wondering where her pre-baby boobs went. Well the same goes for former SI swimsuit model and mama of two Brooklyn Decker. After the svelte stunner was Twitter-trolled for her less than curvaceous postpartum body, she clapped back—getting the attention of plenty of other mamas who are in the same boat.

With a fab, fit figure that’s graced magazine covers, Decker probably isn’t used to body-shaming. But now that her curves have calmed down (which is totally normal after having kiddos), the internet is all over her seemingly sudden slimness.

After a reading a tweet that referred to her body as “gangly”, Decker responded, “For the umpteenth time — because people love to comment on my body (or lack thereof) my children sucked the life out of my body and left behind a bag of bones.”

Decker also added, “I don’t know what else to tell you. I miss my boobs too- I don’t even know what to call them now.” As many of us know, the lack of…um, front fullness is a serious side effect of having babies.

One mama commented on Decker’s tweet, writing, “I always wonder where my boobs went after having my two children…WHERE DID THEY GO?? Of course, I say this to myself, at night, in privacy. I don’t care who you are, not ok to say this to you!!” Totally agreed!

If you don’t already follow Chip Gaines on IG, you might want to now. His latest pic of baby Crew on Instagram is a major mini moment.

It’s not exactly like there’s a lack of pics that feature the Fixer Upper couple and their beautiful family on IG. But this post kind of takes the cake. Not only is baby Crew outfitted head-to-toe in teeny tiny Carhartt clothes, but the caption is beyond perfect.

“Chip off the old block”—we have to wonder how long Gaines has been holding on to that very dad-like pun!

And if you’re wondering what Gaines’ fans think of the post, the comments say it all. Yep, Instagrammers have flooded the comment section with, “Omg he is adorable,” “Adorable little man,” “He is just the cutest” and “He’s adorable.”

Oh, and it’s not just the Gaines’ family’s IG fans who are totally in awe of cute little Crew. Mama Joanna recently posted a super sweet pic of Crew she captioned, “I told Crew to distract the guys so the ladies could shop a little longer.”

And judging by the photo, that’s exactly what Crew did!

If you’re hoping for a new Whole Foods location in your area, you might be in luck. Amazon is reportedly planning a Whole Foods expansion, but they’re not building new spaces, instead leasing out the empty buildings after the closures of other retailers. Amazon did not immediately return Red Tricycle’s request for comment.

According to sources who spoke to Yahoo Finance, Amazon is eyeing the sites of former Sears and Kmart stores for possible new Whole Foods locations. While there are currently more than 470 Whole Foods stores across the country, there are still several states that have none, or very few, Whole Foods stores. Recently closed Sears and Kmart stores in several of those states, like Wyoming and Montana, could serve as good locations for a Whole Foods expansion.

“There are lots of vacant retail space that they can take advantage of, and that gives them access to reasonable retail locations,” Neil Saunders, managing director of retail at GlobalData, told Yahoo Finance.

Whole Foods has not officially announced any plans for an expansion, but at a retail real estate event in Dallas, Texas, Jim Sud, Whole Foods’ executive vice president of growth and business development said, “First and foremost, we’re looking for the best location we can find. So if that’s an existing center—second generation space—that meets all of our criteria… we’ll jump all over it.”

It certainly seems like the opportunity is there, based on Sud’s comments. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Does Whole Foods Deliver to Your City? Here’s a State-by-State List

Is it true? Are more Whole Foods grocery stores coming to a city near you? Reports surfaced earlier this week that Amazon has some big New Year’s plans to expand Whole Foods Markets in parts of Idaho, Wyoming and Utah. Amazon did not immediately respond to Red Tricycle’s request for comment.

The Wall Street Journal recently reported that a Whole Foods insider shared that employees from the store were scouting potential retail spaces in these select states. But it doesn’t seem like the rumored stores would stop there. If the expansion is actually a real thing (and without a comment from Amazon, we still don’t know), Whole Foods Markets could grab an even bigger piece of the grocery pie.

Not only can shoppers browse the aisles in brick-and-mortar stores, but Amazon Prime members can also enjoy online ordering and Whole Foods grocery delivery options through Prime Now. With more stores, it’s expected that the number of Prime Now delivery areas will grow, too.

So when and where can you expect to see new Whole Foods Markets popping up? As of right now, we just can’t say. Considering the phenomenal growth that the grocer has experienced following Amazon’s acquisition of Whole Foods in mid-2017, it looks like the possibilities are almost endless and it’s only a matter of of time before even more Whole Foods open their doors in the coming years.

Editor’s Update: In an end-of-the-year Hail Mary, Verizon Fios and Disney reached a carriage agreement, that will keep Disney-owned channels, programming, and NYC- and Philadelphia-area local affiliate stations on the air. The deal was reached on Dec. 30, 2018, with specific details of the agreement still forthcoming. Our original story follows below.

The contract between Disney and Verizon Fios expires soon. Based on an email Verizon recently sent to its Fios customers, it looks like things aren’t going well. Representatives from Disney did not immediately return Red Tricycle’s request for comment. So, what does all this mean for your favorite Disney shows and TV channels?

According to a representative from Verizon, “We’re actively negotiating with Disney to reach a fair deal for our customers.” So will you, or won’t you, loose your Disney Media Networks lineup if you’re a Verizon customer? The answer isn’t clear—yet.

https://twitter.com/Mrs_Veissy26/status/1078460974951264256

Along with the email to their customers, Verizon also posted an update on their website regarding the company’s negotiations with Disney. The statement reads in part:

“As you may know, we must periodically renew our agreements with TV content providers to be able to provide you with the programming available on Fios TV. Despite what you may be hearing from Disney, we have been negotiating a renewal agreement to keep their networks, which include those from Disney and ESPN, as well as ABC affiliates in Philadelphia and New York, in our lineup.”

Yep, that’s right. This potential channel loss won’t just affect channels that start with the name “Disney.” Disney’s Fios channels also include ESPN and some local ABC stations. If the two media giants can’t come to an agreement by 5 p.m, Eastern on Dec. 31, 2018, the contract will expire. And yes, that means you may lose some of your fave TV viewing. We’ll keep you posted.

In the meantime, here’s what’s coming to Netflix for kids in January, along with our list of free, full-length movies your kids can watch on YouTube—just in case.
