We all love a luxury beauty product haul. Whether we stock up our whole cabinet with those goodies, or splurge on just our absolute faves, scoring the best of the best is always a win. The only problem? Having to either physically go to a store to snag luxury beauty products or wait for shipping after finding them online. Such a bummer, especially because we are out of dry shampoo right now!

Luckily our retail go-to Amazon has come through again! Their Premium Beauty options aren’t just authentic and sold directly from the brand or their approved resllers, but are frequently available right through Prime. Hello, two-day shipping. Of course we couldn’t help but put together some of the most pleasantly surprising luxe brands you can order immediately and get into your bathroom, shower, or makeup bag in no time.

Air Fryer Chicken Breast

a picture of an air fryer chicken breast recipe
Pinch of Yum

If you need one good chicken recipe for an air fryer—we recommend this one from Pinch of Yum. Thin slices of chicken breast tossed in an array of spices with a pinch of sugar, it’s ready in 10 minutes and has 82 five-star reviews!

Tandoori Chicken

Tandoori chicken usually takes more time than busy parents have on weeknights, but this air fryer version from the Ministry of Curry cuts the cooking time down. The trick is to marinate your drumsticks overnight to be ready to go the next day. And, if your kids aren’t into spice, the recipe offers mellow alternatives to tone down the heat.

Bone-In Chicken Thighs

Erin Clarke of Well Plated

Air Fryer Sesame Chicken

Fried Chicken

Kristine’s Kitchen Blog

Fried chicken that’s not fried but tastes like it is? We like the sound of that. This recipe from Kristine’s Kitchen Blog requires about 20 minutes of prep time (to make the batter and coat the chicken), but the results are worth it!

Teriyaki Chicken

Air frying gives teriyaki sauce that yummy glaze you hope to obtain when making this popular dish. You can marinate the chicken for 30 minutes, but it isn’t necessary, especially when you’re short on time. If you decide to marinate your chicken thighs, set some marinade (that you didn’t use for the chicken) aside or use the store-bought sauce to toss with the thighs once they’re done. Get this recipe from Bites with Bri.

Air Fryer Chicken Wings

There are a million ways to express yourself through what you wear. And there’s no right way to do it—not really. It varies from person to person, occasion to occasion, and day to day. But following a few guidelinescan help you feel your absolute best.

As a former personal stylist, our shopping editor has 8 tips that apply across the board, no matter who you are, what your personal style is, where you live, or what your work or home life looks like. In her opinion, a fashion faux pas is really just anything that doesn’t feel good when you wear it. Make sure to adjust these tips to fit (pardon the pun) whatever you feel great wearing.

1. Don’t ignore your waist.

Mistake: Wearing clothes that don’t flatter your body shape can leave you feeling a bit off-balance. Your waist, no matter how you feel about it, is the central part of your silhouette and is where your whole look comes together.

Solution: Choose pieces that play up your best bits. Got a pear shape? A-line skirts and tops that cinch at the waist, or a medium-width belt to define your middle can work wonders to create a more balanced silhouette. Have a more petite frame? Avoid anything that swallows you up and create the illusion of a bit of a soft curve with, again, a thin belt. Beautifully broad shoulders and/or bust? Have you heard about belts? A wide belt complements broader shoulders, busts, and hips.

2. Embrace the basics.

Mistake: Focusing only on statement pieces without the basics to tie everything together? Not a good look. Trust us, it’s so important to have neutral, classic items to mix and match with the bolder options in your closet.

Solution: Build your wardrobe on classics like white shirts, blazers, and jeans. They’re the foundation of any killer outfit.

3. Don’t overdo it.

Mistake: Trying to squeeze every trend into one outfit can leave you feeling more chaotic than cool.

Solution: Focus on one or two trends or statement pieces per outfit, then keep the rest low-key and classic for a polished look. Think: a bold blouse with tailored work trousers, printed shorts with a classic white tee, or a vintage patterned dress with simple solid slides. If you’re wearing a matching set or one-piece (romper, jumpsuit, etc.) with a fun pattern, keep the jewelry simple and slightly understated. We’re letting those statement pieces do the talking here.

4. Avoid visible bra straps.

Mistake: Letting your bra straps peek out from under your clothes can cramp your style.

Solution:  Invest in strapless bras or accessories like clear straps to keep your undergarments discreet. Or go for tops and dresses with built-in support to keep everything looking seamless.

5. Let your accessories shine.

Mistake: Going overboard with accessories can ruin a look.

Solution: Choose a few standouts to elevate your look and let them do the work. If you’re sporting a bold statement necklace, go easy on the earrings and bracelets to keep the focus where it belongs.

6. Avoid disheveled clothing when you can.

Mistake: Wearing wrinkled, stained, or damaged clothes can make you look like you just rolled out of bed (we totally get that sometimes you did and that’s fine). It happens! Don’t beat yourself up here. But if you’re feeling less-than pulled-together, de-rumpling your wardrobe is super helpful.

Solution: Freshen up! Take the time to care for your clothes properly by laundering, ironing, and storing them with care. Repair any damages pronto, like loose threads or missing buttons, to keep your clothes looking crisp and clean.

7. Comfort is always key.

Mistake: Sacrificing comfort for the sake of fashion? No, thank you so much.

Solution: Look for clothes and shoes that feel as good as they look. When you’re comfy, you’ll shine from the inside out. So many options combine comfort and style, so don’t settle for something you think looks good if it feels awful. Chances are, you’ll find a similar piece that’s better and more comfortable if you look a little longer.

Our Picks:

8. Lead with your personal style.

Mistake: Following trends without considering your personal style can leave you feeling like you’re wearing someone else’s clothes.
Solution: Curate a wardrobe that reflects who you are and makes you feel confident. Experiment with different styles, silhouettes, and colors to find what makes you feel like your best self!

Do you ever look back on your childhood and marvel at the boundless imagination we had as kids? How we could turn a pile of blankets into a fortress, create a fictional world in our backyard, or befriend an invisible pal?

Now, imagine if these fantastical realms and magical beings you made never actually disappeared and instead have been waiting around for you to remember them.

In the upcoming summer, family film IF, this magic is front and center, and those creative daydreams become a reality—making the impossible become, well, possible!

From the creative mind of writer and director John Krasinski, IF follows Bea, a young girl who discovers she has a special power to see all imaginary friends (a.k.a. IFs) ever created. As she embarks on a fulfilling quest to match these forgotten pals with new kids, Bea and her newfound friends venture out on an exciting adventure of imagination and self-discovery.

Backed by a cast of comedy gold like Ryan Reynolds and Steve Carell, this charming, live-action animated film is full of laughter, heart, and a much-needed reminder that the magic of childhood wonder is never truly lost.

Moms and dads, get the popcorn buckets (and tissue packets!) ready because IF is going to be the perfect, family-friendly flick to kick off summer.

Bea (played by Cailey Fleming) and Blue (voiced by Steve Carrell) come together in this adorable film.

A magical adventure for all ages

In the heartwarming tale of IF, a girl named Bea (Cailey Fleming) experiences some hardships when she discovers she has a unique gift of seeing imaginary friends, called IFs for short. But Bea isn’t the only one with this special power; Cal, who is played by the ever-so-witty Reynolds, also shares this special ability.

Unsure of what to make of this gift, Bea teams up with Cal to help these former companions after they’ve been forgotten by their original kids who grew up. This leads the duo to go on a match-making adventure that’ll unite each IF with a new kid who also needs friendship and comfort.

Throughout their journey, we see the true power of believing that anything is possible and the ultimate joy of tapping into one’s creativity and imagination.

Ryan Reynolds as Cal and Cailey Fleming as Bea star in Paramount Pictures’ IF.

Laugh out loud with this star-studded cast

Adults and children are in for quite the comedic treat, as IF boasts a lineup of Hollywood’s finest like never seen before. With Reynolds leading the charge as cheeky Cal and Krasinski taking on a triple-threat role as writer, director, and Bea’s lovable Dad, the movie already promises everything we’ve come to know and love from their past performances.

But the movie doesn’t stop there. Adding to the star power are Fiona Shaw as the wise Grandmother, Alan Kim as a curious boy named Benjamin, and a host of talented comedians lending their voices to the colorful mix of imaginary friends, like Steve Carell as the super huggable Blue and Phoebe Waller-Bridge as the delightful Blossom.

With Emily Blunt, Blake Lively, Awkwafina, Matt Damon, George Clooney, Bradley Cooper, Keegan Michael-Key, Sebastian Maniscalco, Maya Rudolph, and Amy Schumer rounding out the stellar voice cast, IF is sure to be a hilarious cinematic experience.

Bea tackles an adventure of a lifetime alongside a group of unique IFs.

Inspiring lessons on imagination, belief & self-discovery

We love a family film that’s loaded with relatable life lessons and themes, and IF surely doesn’t disappoint. As Bea tackles her journey alongside Cal and a supportive group of IFs (like a flaming marshmallow, a life-sized gummy bear, a completely invisible pal named “Keith”, and a robot), she learns the beauty of unlikely friendships, but most importantly, rediscovers the magic within herself.

Audiences of all ages (we’re especially looking at you, grown-ups) will also appreciate the gentle reminder that sometimes, all it takes is a little imagination to see the extraordinary that exists around us. And when life gets hard or if we get caught up in the mundane day-to-day tasks of life, we must remember that our hopes and dreams never leave us; we can always go back to them to bring out the spark inside of us.

Blossom, voiced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, is a butterfly-like imaginary friend.

Experience nostalgia, heartfelt moments & family fun

Nothing beats a family movie loaded with feel-good moments and jokes parents can appreciate. IF delightfully blends nostalgia (calling all of the adults who fondly remember their own IFs, like myself!), heartfelt scenes, and family-friendly humor to evoke the power and joy of embracing our childhood wonder.

The movie also touches on the impactful message about the importance of love and connection, which Bea experiences as she forms new bonds with all of the IFs. Of course, adding to the film’s appeal is the witty dialogue and playful antics that result from an impressive cast coming together on the big screen.

Don’t miss out on the chance to see the world in a whole new way this summer! IF hits theaters on Friday, May 17, so set your calendar reminders and snag your tickets early.

To keep the creativity flowing at home, kids can draw their very own imaginary pal and bring it to life through this special IF generator website that’ll make their creations come to life!

“What’s for dinner?” might be a parent’s least favorite phrase. If you’re burned out on planning the evening meal but not excited about serving mac and cheese and dino nuggies yet again, we rounded up 11 easy family dinners to keep in your back pocket for those evenings when you just can’t. Warm, gooey French Dip sliders for dinner? Yes, please! Five minutes later, you’ll be ready to serve it up. Our only recommendation is to cut back on the amount of honey.

Spring is here and summer is right around the corner. So if you’re craving a sunkissed glow (without that sunkissed damage or dangerous tanning beds), you’re here on a mission for the best self tanner. And it just so happens that our Shopping Editor has done all the self tanning research for you, so you can skip the many (many, many) mistakes she’s already made. These are our favorite tried-and-tested self tanning products and a full breakdown of each one, so you’ll be able to pick what works best for you.

First, let’s go over a few tanning basics that’ll help you make the best choice.

Self-Tanning Tips:

  • Exfoliate and shave before self tanning. That’s rule #1.
  • No matter what products you use prior to self tanning, either make sure it’s totally oil-free (it’ll break up the tan formula), or use an oil-free wash after scrubbing down to get any oils off your skin.
  • Always use a little body lotion on areas where your skin is thicker or drier; it’ll absorb product faster and the lotion adds a layer of protection.
  • If you have light hair, protect it. Use a headband, or, better yet, a shower cap, to prevent stains.
  • Regardless of your haircolor, take some petroleum jelly or a bit of hair conditioner on your hairline to avoid product buildup.
  • Be prepared to avoid getting wet during development. No rain, sweat, washing dishes. No water. Even small drops will show up on your skin if it hits you while your tan is working.
  • Wear loose clothing. Either dark colors or clothes you don’t care about getting stained. We also go for darker colors the day after we tan, even once we’ve rinsed, just to be sure.
  • Sleep on dark sheets, sheets you don’t mind staining, or invest in a tanning sleep sack.
  • Use a blow dryer on cool or stand in front of a fan until you’re completely and totally dry before getting dressed.

How to Apply Self Tanner:

Do we recommend using your bare hands to self tan? No. Do some people do it with great results? Yes. If you do go that route, just make sure you wash your hands really, really well afterwards. Otherwise, we’d much rather go with any of these mitt options:

  • STEUGO Self Tanning Mitt Applicator Set (includes a back applicator: think how you use a towel to dry your back off from the shower or pool)
  • Beauty by Earth Self Tanner Kabuki Brush (you can combine this with a mitt applicator, and/or use it for contouring, ankles, feet, hands, and wrists)
  • Bronze Tan Self Tanning Facial Brush (go slow, blendblendblend, and use a little product at a time. You can always add more. Don’t forget your ears, and into your hairline—unless you’re a blonde. Then, just take it as close as possible without actually touching your hair.)
  • If you absolutely can’t stand the idea of using anything but your hands for application, then try latex salon gloves and make absolutely sure they’re powder-free.

STEUGO

How to Get Self Tanner Off Hands:

Okay, so you completely skipped our advice, or you had a few little splotches on your palms. Obviously, washing and using one of the scrubby options we mentioned on your palms will majorly help, but you can also take half a lemon, press it into rock salt (or table salt if that’s all you have), and scrub your palms gently. Be super careful of papercuts or hangnails, of course.

A Note on ‘Color Guides’:

Many self tanners include a color guide. It’s a non-staining tint added to the formula so you can see where the product is and where you need to add more. It is not the color you will end up with. It’s designed to be seen, not always to look perfect. You might see greenish, ashy, or orange tones in it, but don’t let that scare you. It’s just the color guide. It will rinse off in the shower, so when you see that color going down the drain, again, it’s not your actual tan. Color guide only. Okay? Okay.

So now that we’ve covered all the self tanning secrets, let’s get to the good part.

St. Tropez Express Self-Tan

Bottle of St. Tropez self-tan
St. Tropez

This one’s for those of us who are in a hurry to get our glow on. St. Tropez Express Self Tan develops in just 1-3 hours. This beauty is at the top of the list of best self tanner, even among its 6-8 hour cousins. You can customize your color, thanks to the darker-as-it-develops formula, so keep it on for 1 hour for a light glow, 2 hours for a medium natural tan, and 3+ hours for a rich, dark tan.

The St. Tropez Express Self Tan has a warmer brown base color, so if your skin leans to extremely fair or you have red undertones, you might want to do a patch test first to make sure it doesn’t develop into a color that appears reddish or muddy. Did we mention St. Tropez is Ashley Graham-approved and lasts up to a full week? We thought you’d like that.

Bondi Sands Self Tanning Foam

Bottle of Bondi Sands tanning foam
Bondi Sands

Aussies know a thing or two about tanning, so it’s no surprise Bondi Sands is a leader in the best self tanner department. Available in Light/Medium, Dark, and Extra Dark, it’s lightweight and has a scent that’s more coconutty than chemical. Bondi Sands is also formulated with aloe to help moisturize your skin. It has a green base, but don’t let that scare you. Self tanners with green/green-blue bases don’t put you at risk for turning orange at all, regardless of your skin tone.

Just like on the color wheel, green hues neutralize red and orange shades. The result is an olive brown tan once you rinse it off, but don’t be surprised if the guide color makes your skin look green as it develops! Similar to what happens when you color your hair, what you see during development isn’t what you’ll end up with. Trust the process (and do a patch test if you’re using a formula for a new time). Bondi Sands can be washed off in an hour, but leaving it on up to 6 hours gives you the full effect.

Coco & Even Sunny Honey Bali Bronzing Self Tanning Mousse

bottle of coco & eve self tanner
Coco & Eve

If you’re sensitive to scent, or would just prefer to avoid that classic self tan smell, Coco & Eve Self Tanner actually smells good! It has a tropical mango and guava scent that makes it pleasant to have on and pleasant to be around (no complaints from your fam!) while it develops. That’s not where the benefits end, though. Coco & Eve moisturizes, dries fast, and starts developing in just 2 hours.

Coco & Eve Self Tanner actually has a grey-green base, so not only does it eliminate red and pink tones, the grey color helps to create a really rich color (it also means you might have an ashy look as it develops, but like we always say, it’ll wash off, so trust the process). It also works really nicely to blur any imperfections so your color is even. As a bonus, Coco & Eve has a sunless tanning kit that includes their velvety tanning mitt (honestly one of the best we’ve ever used), a kabuki brush for your hands, feet, and face, and the tanning mousse.

Coco & Eve Sunny Honey Bali Bronzing Self Tanning Mousse

Jergens Natural Glow Instant Sun Sunless Tanning Mousse

bottle of Jergens self tanner
Jergens

Jergens has been a big name in self tanning for years, thanks to their Natural Glow 3-Day Gradual Self Tanning Moisturizer that launched in 2005. Don’t want to wait 3 days? We don’t blame you.  Jergens Natural Glow Instant Sun Sunless Tanning Mousse is almost as fool-proof as their gradual lotion formula. It develops instantly and darkens gradually over the hours following into a gorgeous summery color.

Another major bonus? It dries in 60 seconds. If you know anything about self tanning, you know that it can take so long to dry, so a minute? We’ll absolutely take it. Jergens Self Tanner is also incredibly affordable at under $15. For someone who’s new to sunless tanning at home, it’s an awesome option for starting out! It has a neutral brown base that complements most skin tones without orangey results. This one is also a bit more subtle than other options, though it can be reapplied the next day for additional color.

Beauty by Earth Self Tanner Lotion

bottle of beauty by earth self tanning lotion
Beauty by Earth

Organic aloe vera, shea butter, and botanical extracts, and no harmful additives and dyes make Beauty by Earth Self Tanner a great choice for natural tanners. It’s a natural formulation that includes lean ingredients you can feel good about. Although it does have a warm base color, it’s derived from sugar-beets, so it doesn’t react with your skin in a way that results in an orangey tan.

Because it’s a lotion form, it’s exceptionally hydrating, courtesy of coconut oil, and doesn’t have any funky smell at all. While it doesn’t have a color guide, it goes on white, so you’ll know where to rub it in, and you won’t risk staining your sheets, clothes, or towels as it develops! Beauty By Earth Self Tanner is also designed to be used on your face if you want, even if you’re acne-prone. This is another buildable tanner, so add another application if you don’t feel dark enough.

b.tan disco candy tan!

bottle of b.tan self tanner
b.tan

b.tan has a huge range of super popular self tanners, ranging in color from Dark, Darker, to Darkest Possible. There are so many options, it’s hard to pick the best in the collection, but disco candy tan! is one of their best sellers, and for good reason. Not only do you get a candy-scented dark tan, it lasts! disco candy tan’s claim to fame is that it’s sweat-proof and transfer-resistant, so this is the self tan that goes as hard as you do.

Although it falls into the Darkest b.tan category, you can adjust your color: rinse it after just 1 hour if you want a more subtle color, or leave it on 4+ hours to head into Darkest territory. b.tan is another extremely affordable brand that doesn’t compromise on your results.

Loving Tan 2 Hour Express Mousse

bottle of Loving Tan self tanner
Loving Tan

The self tanner that took social media by storm, Loving Tan self tanner is loved by influencers and non-influencers alike. Their 2 Hour Express Mousse is one of their hero products, offering a seriously rich tan in very little time. When we say ‘seriously rich tan’, we mean it. Available in Medium, Dark, and Ultra Dark, Loving Tan self tanner is ideal for intermediate and experienced-level tanners. Even the Medium is a deeper color than others we’ve used, so it’s best left to those of us who have a good idea of how we like our self tans to look, or if you’re craving a truly dark glow. It’s not one you want to experiment with your first time.

Another green-based formula, as dark as you may get, you’ll still skip the orange (but don’t freak out when you see the color guide; it’s definitely a reddish brown). Although, yes, with any self tanner, blending during application is extremely important, with the Loving Tan 2 Hour Express Mousse, it’s imperative. It dries and sets super fast, so you’ll need to work quickly (another reason this is best suited for more experienced tanners) and in small sections to avoid streaks. You can rinse it off after just 2 hours, and your tan will continue to develop over the next 24 hours. Try to skip the moisturizers and oils during your development period, even after you’ve first rinsed off.

Bali Body Self Tanning Mousse

bottle of bali body self tanner
Bali Body

We’re headed into extremely dark territory here, folks, so we’ll say right off the bat: don’t use this one unless you’re prepared to be very, very dark and you’re comfortable with your self tan application skills. Dark tans make mistakes more obvious, so if you don’t apply it correctly, it’ll show. But, if you’re ready to go for the gold(en), Bali Body Ultra Dark Self Tanning Mousse is one you should reach for.

Bali Body self tanner is a deep (deep!) tan with a green base that’s even suitable for sensitive skin! Chamomile extract, antioxidant coffee seed extract, and and pomegranate extract all work together to hydrate and soothe more sensitive skin types. Similar to other super deep self tans, the color guide is almost a chocolate color, but it won’t be your end result.

Tanologist Express Self Tan

bottle of tanologist self tanner
Tanologist

Keeping it clear is Tanologist’s specialty. Their Express Tan water-to-foam formula spreads and blends really easily, and it’s a clear mousse, so you won’t have to deal with any color transfer onto your clothes, sheets, or furniture. Colorless formulas also help prevent clogged pores and dry skin since they have fewer ingredients. It’s also safe to use on your face.

But the clear mousse doesn’t take away from the great glow it provides. Tanologist Self Tanner starts developing in just an hour and deepens the longer you let it develop. Luckily, it’s not uncomfortable to have on—it’s not tacky or sticky. Keep it on overnight for maximum color and it can last up to a week!

MineTan Color Correcting Violet Self Tanner

bottle of minetan violet self tanner
MineTan

We’ve talked about green bases, but let’s take a minute to appreciate violet-based self tans. Not only does violet work in a similar way to reduce gold/orange/yellow tones (if you’ve ever used a violet shampoo to remove brassy tones in your hair, it’s the same concept here), it also brightens up your skin to prevent that muddy or shadowy effect that can happen with dark tanners. The MineTan Violet Self Tan Foam is inspired by the tan you’d naturally achieve from a Mediterranean vacation.

Another 1 hour express formula means you don’t have to wait long for your new color to take hold. Avocado and vitamin E oils keep your skin happy and we’re loving how fast it absorbs and dries, too! If the Violet version isn’t quite what you’re looking for, MineTan also offers Caramel, Dark Ash, and Olive.

Formula: Mousse
Development Time: Rinse with lukewarm water for only 45 seconds after the first house (or longer), and your tan will continue to develop for the next 8-16 hours (then you can take your regular shower again)

Isle of Paradise Self Tan Water

Isle of Paradise

Spray your way to an even tan! Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Water is a spray-on formula that’s so light and non-sticky, plus this application method makes it go by a lot faster than other tanning options. There’s also no smell or might-transfer-onto-everything tint.

Isle of Paradise’s Self Tanning Water is also safe for your face. Between washes, products, and makeup, your face (and hands) is the place you’re likely to notice a fading tan much faster than the rest of your body. A few quick spritzes at the end of your nightly routine a few nights a week will keep your complexion warm and glowy. Afraid of using a dark tan formula on your face? Snag a bottle of the next shade down and warm it all the way up with some strategic makeup placement.

Norvell Venetian Sunless Self Tanner Mousse with Bronzer

bottle of norvell self tanner
Norvell

Norvell is a professional tanning brand that can be found in tanning salons and used by tanning pros! With that in mind, you might’ve heard of their Venetian Tan formula; it’s super popular with paid tanning services. Venetian Tan is a purple based color that brightens, blurs, and keeps those reddish-orange tones away! It’s available in different formulations, but the mousse is easy to control and the color guide is excellent, so it’s one of our faves.

Norvell Venetian Tanning Mousse is created to mimic the tans you’d see on the French Riviera, so you can feel super fancy even if you haven’t made it on your dream vacation yet. These pros have also figured out how to virtually eliminate that self tanner smell and added in anti-aging and skin hydrating ingredients, too. Skip the tanning booth and get the same results at home!

How to Remove Self Tanner:

If you have any lingering tanning product on your skin before your next application, or a few mistakes happen, this one is big. There are self tan remover products out there that can gently clear your skin of any old, fading color, but they work best on older product. If you decide after 24 hours you don’t like your color, these products aren’t likely to work the way you’re hoping (and that’s why we always suggest starting with a patch test before loading up your whole bod).

For Your Body: We usually prefer going with good old fashioned exfoliation. Use a skin-smoothing mitt like this one, or those scrubby little shower gloves like these. You can also add an in-shower body scrub like this, this, or this. Do not use those mitts, gloves, or scrubs on your face. Do not. Do not. Please.

For Your Face: Since we’re absolutely not using body exfoliating products on our faces (right? right?), we like to opt either for a high-quality chemical exfoliator that you can apply with a cotton pad, like this one, or a gentle physical exfoliating scrub specifically designed for your face, like this one, this one, or this one.

You'll be blown away by the expansive property that has none of the dreary and dark vibes that campgrounds often have in this area. Instead, expect rolling hills with stunning views at the property that's just a 5-minute drive from downtown Mariposa and just over an hour from the closest Yosemite entrance. Drop your kids in a two-hour nature-themed camp on weekends and Wednesdays, then check into the spa for a massage, head out on the adjacent trails on bike or horse (rentals of both available on site), or just crawl back in bed with a good book (or iPad: even the tent cabins are equipped with free Wi-Fi). There are many levels of "roughing it" here. There's also a KOA campground on site, for tents and RVs. Shared Comfort Stations throughout the campground offer clean bathrooms, showers, and dry saunas.

You’ve seen them everywhere. Instagram. TikTok. The gym. The office. The school pickup line. The Stanley 40oz Quencher H2.0 Flowstate Tumbler is the drink vessel that went viral. Maybe you first noticed your favorite influencer sipping on one, but they’ve definitely become part of the mainstream. From Target to sporting goods stores, the Stanley Tumbler is sold all over. It’s sold out all over, too. These tumblers can be a little tricky to get your hands on, so with these new Target Stanley cup colors lining the shelves for the summer, run, don’t walk.

This Summer, Stanley partnered with Target to launch these ultra-fun, oh-so-practical goodies in gorgeous new hues. These new colors are full of juicy resort-inspired shades that are perfect for the sunny months. But that’s not all that makes us swoon. The Target Stanley cup is made of recycled stainless steel so you can feel good about sticking to sustainability. Stanley’s vacuum insulation makes sure that your beverage of choice stays ice-cold for hours, or hot, if you prefer.

No, really. We’re talking 11 hours cold, 7 hours hot, and 24 hours iced. And, with the FlowState lid, you have the option of three drinking positions: a straw opening that resists splashes and holds the reusable straw in place, a drink opening, and a full cover. A comfy handle and cup-holder-ready base makes things easy. And if your tumbler doesn’t do everything they say it will, Stanley will replace it.

Although the other hues are pretty great, too, so we just really recommend snagging any of them! The newest colors are at Target stores right now, so grab them before they’re gone!

Angels in the Outfield

This heartwarming, family-friendly remake of the 1951 original about hope and baseball stars a young Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Danny Glover, Adrien Brody, and Matthew McConaughey. A foster child (Gordon-Levitt) prays that the Anaheim Angels, his favorite team, makes it to the World Series after his estranged father promises to reunite the family should this unlikely success occur. A real angel (Christopher Lloyd) responds to the child's prayers, and his favorite team launches off on a surprising winning streak. This baseball movie is rated PG and recommended for ages 7 and older.

(Buena Vista, 1994)

The Jackie Robinson Story

Jackie Robinson plays himself in this baseball film that follows his time as a sports star at UCLA and a coach in the military to his success in helping the Dodgers win the 1947 championship. His time in the major leagues is fraught with racial bigotry as he struggles to break the barriers of segregation. While somewhat dated, this is one of those good kid movies that shines a light on overcoming prejudice. It's rated PG-13 for language and recommended for children ages 7 and up.

(Legend Films, 1950)

A Mile in His Shoes

This is a wholesome, Canadian made-for-television baseball movie about an autistic 18-year-old named Mickey who becomes a winning pitcher in the minor leagues. It's based on a novel about the real-life Mickey Tussler, who played the game well but didn't fit in with his teammates during a time when there was little awareness about autism. While the film focuses on Mickey's baseball talents, it also emphasizes the importance of treating people with autism with respect—making it one of those good kid movies to watch on the weekend. It's rated PG and recommended for ages 8 and older.

(Vivendi, 2012)

Rookie of the Year

If you think the best movies for tweens are comedies, you're probably right! This 1990s comedy follows a baseball-challenged little leaguer who breaks his arm but then discovers when his cast is removed that he can now throw a ball like a champ. The Chicago Cubs want to get in on this action and make the 12-year-old its star pitcher. The plot is a bit far-fetched, but it's also entertaining and light-hearted, which makes for a good kid baseball movie. It's rated PG and recommended for ages 8 and older.

(Twentieth Century Fox, 1993)

The Life and Times of Hank Greenberg

Sometimes the best kid movies are also the realistic ones that teach us all something about talent and perseverance. This is a great feature-length documentary baseball film about Hank Greenberg, America's first Jewish baseball star. He faced ethnic and religious prejudice during a time that Jewish athletes weren't welcomed but transcended this bigotry to become a community hero during the 1930s. This flick is rated PG and recommended for ages 8 and older.

(Twentieth Century Fox,  2000)

The Pride of the Yankees

This is a classic baseball movie that pays tribute to the life of legendary Lou Gehrig, who played first base for the New York Yankees before dying tragically at age 37. His teammates Babe Ruth, Bob Meusel, Mark Koenig, and Bill Dickey play themselves in it, along with sportscaster Bill Stern. The film is less about sports than it is about Gehrig's charisma, family life, and accomplishments as he worked his way up from the streets of New York to the minor leagues and eventually become a Yankee fan favorite. It also chronicles his health struggles and premature death from ALS, a disease that was unknown at the time but became more notable to the public as "Lou Gehrig's disease." The movie is unrated (although it can be considered a good PG movie) and recommended for children ages 8 and older.

(MGM/UA, 1942)

the rookie is a baseball movie for kids

The Rookie

One of the best movies for tweens who love baseball, this inspiring true story follows the life of Jim Morris, a high school baseball coach who was injured before getting to the major leagues. However, he gets a second chance at the age of 35, making him the oldest rookie at the time. The movie stars Dennis Quaid as Morris and Brian Cox as his father. It's rated G and recommended for ages 8 and older.

(Walt Disney Pictures,  2002)

The Sandlot is a classic baseball movie for kids

The Sandlot

This is a coming-of-age sports comedy movie about a small group of baseball players during the summer of 1962. It focuses on the new kid in town, Scotty Smalls, a 12-year-old who joins a local pick-up team to make friends. The film has a nostalgic feel and some critics have compared it to A Christmas Story because of its narration and tone. It's a good kid movie that parents will also enjoy, is rated PG, and is recommended for ages 8 and older.

(Twentieth Century Fox, 1993)

baseball movies for kids

A League of Their Own

Tom Hanks and Geena Davis star in this classic (and one of the best, in some people's opinion!) baseball movie about a girl's baseball team in the 1940s. It's based on a true story about women during this time trying to break gender stereotypes and prove that they have as much of a right as men to be on the field (and be respected as athletes). The characters are fun, the storyline comedic and engaging, and there are many other stars, including Madonna, Lori Petty, Rosie O'Donnell, and Jon Lovitz. It's rated PG and recommended for ages 10 and older.

(Columbia Tristar, 2002)

The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars and Motor Kings

In another star-studded baseball classic, this often-forgotten film features the comedic talents of Richard Pryor, James Earl Jones, and Billy Dee Williams. It's about a team of former Negro league baseball players in the 1930s struggling with racial tensions as they find success on the road and give the established teams a run for their money. It's rated PG and recommended for ages 10 and older.

(Universal Pictures, 1976)

Million Dollar Arm

Based on a true story about baseball pitchers discovered after winning a reality show competition, this film stars Jon Hamm as an independent sports agent who recruits talented Indian cricket players to play Major League baseball. He takes them to Los Angeles, where the now-baseball players struggle with a new game and culture. This is a good (and somewhat recent) PG-rated movie recommended for ages 10 and older.

(Walt Disney Pictures, 2014)

42 is a great baseball movie for kids

42

This is another, more recent, movie about baseball legend Jackie Robinson (played by Chadwick Boseman), who broke through the sport's racial barriers during the 1946 and 1947 seasons after being recruited by Branch Rickey, general manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers (played by Harrison Ford). It's a basic and crowd-pleasing baseball movie that'll appeal to teens and mature tweens whether they are baseball fans or not. It's rated PG-13 and recommended for ages 11 and older.

(Warner Bros., 2013)

The Natural is a classic baseball movie for kids

The Natural

Considered an all-time baseball movie classic, The Natural stars Robert Redford as a sports prodigy who lost the chance to try out for the Chicago Cubs but, 16 years later, returns to professional baseball with the downtrodden New York Knights. He plays well and helps the Knights become a winning team, but the team's owner wants him to lose. This is one of the best PG movies about baseball and is recommended for ages 11 and older.

(Columbia Tristar, 1984)

Bad News Bears is a baseball movie for kids

The Bad News Bears

A former minor-league hopeful begrudgingly agrees to coach a misfit Little League team in this funny, slightly-edgy film that is one of the best movies for tweens. In an effort to change his bad luck with the team, the coach brings in a feisty female pitcher and attempts to whip all his outcasts into shape. This baseball movie pushed some boundaries when it was made in the 1970s, and it's rated PG-13, and recommended for ages 12 and older.

(Universal Pictures, 1976)

Field of Dreams is a classic baseball movie for kids

Field of Dreams

Kevin Costner plays an Iowa farmer who hears a voice in his cornfield telling him (the now famed suggestion) "if you build it, he will come." Although everyone thinks he's crazy, he builds a baseball diamond that is soon visited by the ghosts of great players. This film is about reconciling relationships and following your dreams and will appeal especially to older teens and adults. It's rated PG and recommended for ages 12 and older.

(Universal Pictures, 1989)

Moneyball

San Francisco Bay Area baseball fans should not miss this flick, based on the excellent nonfiction best-selling book about the Oakland A's. Brad Pitt plays the general manager, who is assisted by an Ivy League graduate (played by Jonah Hill), as they recruit flawed but talented players in an attempt to change outdated baseball traditions. The adults will get as much entertainment out of this winning movie as the kids, and it's rated PG-13, and recommended for ages 12 and older.

(Columbia Pictures, 2011)

Everyone's hero is a baseball movie for kids

Everyone's Hero

In this animated feature set during the 1932 World Series, a boy considers whether to take a chance and become a hero or play it safe. Guess which one he chooses? You're right — he decides to fight the odds, taking a cross-country journey to return Babe Ruth's baseball bat. This is one of those feel-good kid movies for all ages, rated G and recommended for ages 5 and up.

(20th Century Fox, 2006)

The perfect game is a baseball movie for kids

The Perfect Game

This sports drama is based on true events and a 2008 book of the same name about a group of boys struggling in Monterrey, Mexico who discover baseball and then go on a winning streak. Their dreams of making it to the 1957 Little League World Series lead them across the border to compete and become the first team from outside the US to win. It's rated PG and recommended for ages 8 and up.

(Lionsgate Image Entertainment, 2010)

Hardball is a baseball movie

Hardball

A gambler (Keanu Reeves) becomes a Little League coach for a team of children in Chicago's housing projects to help pay off his debts. He surprises himself by becoming attached to the troubled fifth-graders and their teacher (Diane Lane). This inspiring baseball movie has some tough language and themes and is rated PG-13. It's recommended for ages 14 and up.

(Paramount Pictures, 2001)

Air Bud is a baseball movie for kids

Air Bud: Seventh Inning Fetch

This direct-to-DVD baseball movie is one of the many sequels to the original 1997 film Air Bud, about a dog who plays basketball. This one focuses on Andrea, the younger sister of Josh (the boy who adopted the talented golden retriever in the first movie). Andrea is trying out for her high school baseball team and Josh's athletic canine helps out as an extra catcher. Meanwhile, dognappers have their eye on him. This movie didn't get the best reviews—descriptions of it include the words "pointless" and "slow"—but it's rated G and recommended for ages 5 and up.

(Walt Disney Home Entertainment, 2002)

Brewster's Millions

Yes, this can be considered a baseball movie! While its main focus isn't sports, the lead character named Brewster (Richard Pryor) is a minor-league pitcher who loses his position just before his great-uncle leaves him $300 million. But before Brewster can inherit, he must follow complicated rules to spend $30 million in 30 days. This is a fun film that does, in fact, involve baseball games. It's rated PG and recommended for ages 11 and up.

(Universal Pictures, 1985)

Are you feeling like the days are dragging and you can barely get through the morning rush without multiple cups of coffee? We get it. Luckily, there are tons of additional ways to stay awake, from simple mindfulness techniques to foods that will get you ready for the day ahead. Scroll through and get that energy up!

1. Head Outside

If the sun is shining in your neck of the woods, Vitamin D is a natural energy boost. All you have to do is play with the kids outside, walk the dog, or roll back the sunroof. As always, if you plan on being outside for an extended period, be sure to put on a fresh coat of SPF. Foods like fish, egg yolks, fortified milk, and cereals are also delicious D sources.

2. Drink (Lots of) Water

Water helps make the world—and our bodies—go round. And fatigue is a sure sign that we aren’t getting enough of it. Keep reusable bottles in your bag, at your desk, and in the car. You’ll get in the habit of hydrating throughout the day for sustained energy levels and all sorts of other body benefits (radiant skin sound good to anyone?).

3. Meditate for a Pick-Me-Up

Parenthood can feel like an endless circuit of activities, homework, appointments, and the daily surprises that keep us on our toes. Sometimes all the caffeine we drink to keep up backfires, leaving us wired and unable to focus. Step off the hamster wheel and cue up a mom-friendly meditation app rather than another cup of joe. Just 5-, 10-, or 15-minute increments of measured breathing and meditation will leave you relaxed and refreshed.

4. Diffuse Essential Oils

Essential oils have taken the wellness world by storm—and with good reason. Naturally free of chemicals, they can help with stress, mood, and yes, energy. Oil aficionados recommend peppermint and grapefruit to boost energy and nutmeg for focus.

5. Reduce Sugar

High-sugar food can cause your blood sugar to spike, which can feel good for a short time. But it’s the after-effects that leave you in a slump. Instead of heading for that piece of chocolate, try one of these low-sugar snacks to keep a more even blood sugar level throughout the day.

6. Play That Funky Music

Think of your favorite song. If it’s got a beat, you may already be tapping your foot. Music is a mood elevator, so put on tunes while you cook dinner, pause the podcasts and pump up the jams in the car for the commute, or take a spin around the living room with the kids.

7. Step Away From Screens

Be it our phones, tablets, or work computers, turning on those blue lights at night can keep us up past our bedtimes, leading to even more sleep deprivation. Ana Homayoun, author of Social Media Wellness: Helping Tweens and Teens Thrive in an Unbalanced Digital World, offers great advice specifically for moms: “Be intentional about screen use. Many times we use our smartphones and screens from morning to night (and late into the night, especially for new moms on a feeding schedule). The incremental creep of usage can actually leave us far more exhausted than we realize. Shutting down social media access and phone access for certain hours in the day can create time and space for re-energizing.”

8. Fuel Up to Fight Fatigue

When you reach for that next cup of green tea, did you know a bowl of protein-rich edamame can also pack a pick-me-up punch? Nutrition expert Joy Bauer, the author of From Junk Food To Joy Food, includes it in her list of energy-boosting foods. So sprinkle them on a lunch salad, add them to one of your favorite (and easy) pasta recipes, or save them for an afternoon energy snack. For something sweet, watermelon is in season from May to September and is a great source of B6 and citrulline, an amino acid that aids in cell division and benefits heart and immune system function.

9. Exercise

Okay, you knew this was coming. As hard as it can be to muster up the will to work out, the endorphin boost from exercising makes the muster well worth it. If you need an inspiring reset, try something new like a Hip Hop dance class. There are loads of indoor exercise programs you can do with little to no equipment.

10. Delegate a To-Do or Two

We run ourselves ragged doing it all—parenting, working, shuttling, and keeping the meals coming. While we can’t outsource the big or fulfilling responsibilities, how about daring to say “no” to the over-the-top birthday party next time around? Give yourself permission to pass on that extra something that’s overwhelming the week. Better yet, farm out your chores to your family and teach the kids some life skills!

11. Be Social

Isolation can lead to fatigue and depression, so it’s important to engage with friends and family when your busy schedule allows. Plan a mom’s night out, have another couple over for a takeout dinner, or plan a park date with another family. You’ll be laughing in no time!

12. Turn in Early

We all love the idea of crawling into bed “early,” but who else ends up binge-watching one or two hours of the show that’s been stockpiling because the kids are finally asleep? We may want to take a tip from the kids instead. While 7 p.m. zzz’s aren’t realistic—parents need some evening solitude to decompress or finally get things done uninterrupted—try really turning in an hour (or two) early one night a week. Before bed, reach for a book instead and notice how many pages you get through before those eyelids get heavy. For a tired mom, we’ll put money on about … five!

13. Sneak a Snack

Whip up a tasty snack that packs a punch of energy in every bite.

14. Self-Care is for Everyone

Make standing appointments for your manicures and get those haircuts in the calendar! You deserve a little self-care, something that probably tends to fall to the bottom of your priority list. There are lots of ways to give yourself some much-needed self-care without even leaving the house. Try out one of these beauty hacks on your next night off the clock.

15. Don’t Skip Breakfast

Yes, we’ve all heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But how many of us skip it on those busy mornings? Try out one of these make-ahead breakfasts to get you going for the day with a healthy start.

16. Just Keep Truckin’

We know how awesome you are—and that no matter how sluggish you may feel, you’re doing your best to show up and be great for your kids, your job, and your partner. You’ll catch a break soon, even if it’s just to read that book you’ve had on your nightstand for ages. Before too long the kids will be grown and you’ll have all the time to sleep in on a weekend again. And you may just find yourself missing these hectic, joyful days when you’re sleep-deprived and the kids are still young.
