This Easter Sunday, churchgoers will not be permitted to enter a place of worship. An exception will be made for Andrea Bocelli. He will live-stream a concert on YouTube that evening from the historic Duomo Cathedral in Milan, Italy.

Andrea Bocelli

Bocelli said, “On the day in which we celebrate the trust in a life that triumphs, I’m honored and happy to answer ‘Sì’ to the invitation of the City and the Duomo of Milan. I believe in the strength of praying together; I believe in the Christian Easter, a universal symbol of rebirth that everyone – whether they are believers or not – truly needs right now. Thanks to music, streamed live, bringing together millions of clasped hands everywhere in the world, we will hug this wounded Earth’s pulsing heart, this wonderful international forge that is reason for Italian pride. The generous, courageous, proactive Milan and the whole of Italy will be again, and very soon, a winning model, engine of a renaissance that we all hope for. It will be a joy to witness it, in the Duomo, during the Easter celebration which evokes the mystery of birth and rebirth”

The Andrea Bocelli Foundation (ABF) has started a fundraiser to help hospitals purchase all the instrumentation and equipment necessary to protect their medical staff. It is possible to donate through the GoFundMe campaign.

Countless kids and young adults are trying to change the world. Swedish teen activist, Greta Thunberg, the founder of the Fridays for Future movement, has already inspired many to stand up for their beliefs. Now, the 17-year-old has been nominated for the Nobel peace prize for the second year in a row.

According to the Associated Press, Thunberg was nominated by two Sweedish lawmakers, Jens Holms and Hakan Svenneling, who are both members of Sweden’s Left Party. They said that Thunberg, “has worked hard to make politicians open their eyes to the climate crisis” and “action for reducing our emissions and complying with the Paris Agreement is therefore also an act of making peace.”

In 2018, at age 15, Thunberg sat in front of the Swedish parliament every school day for three weeks to protest the lack of action on the climate crisis. After posting her crusade on Instagram and Twitter she went viral, inspiring fellow students throughout the world to join protests demanding action on climate change.

Just over a year ago, a quiet and mostly friendless teenager woke up, put on her blue hoodie, and sat by herself for hours in an act of singular defiance. Fourteen months later, she had become the voice of millions, a symbol of a rising global rebellion. The politics of climate action are as entrenched and complex as the phenomenon itself, and @gretathunberg has no magic solution. But she has succeeded in creating a global attitudinal shift, transforming millions of vague, middle-of-the-night anxieties into a worldwide movement calling for urgent change. @gretathunberg is TIME’s 2019 Person of the Year. Thunberg was favored to win the award last year, but the prize ultimately went to Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. If she wins this year, she will join Malala Yousafzai as one of the youngest people to receive a Nobel Peace Prize.

In 2019, Thunberg was named Time magazine’s “Person of the Year,” and was one of four people named as the winners of a Right Livelihood Award, aka the “Alternative Nobel.”

The Norwegian Nobel Committee will announce the winner of this year’s 2020 Nobel Peace Prize later in the year.

When one mom recently shared a photo on Facebook of her sunflower lanyard, she had no idea it would get hundreds of thousands of shares, comments and reactions.

The lanyard, which has a very special meaning, is more than just a cute fashion trend. According to UK mom Kim Baker on her Facebook page, “This is a symbol at airports to alert staff that a passenger has a hidden disability and may need adjustments made for them.”

According to a report from the BBC, the sunflower lanyard idea launched in 2016 at Gatwick Airport. After the lanyards took off, nine more airports around the United Kingdom joined in.

The bold green and yellow colors help UK airport staff to quickly identify passengers who need extra help. As the lanyards have grown in popularity, UK airports have take additional steps to assist travelers with hidden disabilities. The Manchester Airport recently opened a Sunflower Room—which is similar to Pittsburgh International Airport’s Presley’s Room, for passengers with sensory needs.

Along with a growing number of airports, the lanyards are also popping up in UK grocery stores!

Ever see one of those amazingly simple parenting hacks and say to yourself, “Why didn’t think of that?!” That’s exactly what I—and hundreds of other internet parents did when we saw this genius kids shoe hack on Reddit posted Monday. In the r/Mommit subreddit, a user posted a photo of his kids’ shoes, but with one startlingly simple hack that literally had my mouth hanging open with how smart it is.

42-year-old Aaron Banikiotes is a realtor from Herndon, Virginia. He’s also a parent of a three-year-old boy named Eli who sometimes put his shoes on the wrong feet. Banikiotes solution? “Add a smiley face to your kid’s shoes so they know when the shoes are on the right feet,” he wrote on Reddit. Behold the brilliance:

Oh, but the brilliance doesn’t stop there. “I put a frown face on the other side,” Banikiotes told Red Tricycle.

If this feels like overkill, head to the Reddit comments, where other parents can totally understand that yes, sometimes they need a sign even if kids manage to get the shoes on but need a some kind of helping symbol on the other side, too. “Genuinely great idea. You would think kids can tell their shoes feel funny on the wrong feet,” one Redditor commented. “Sadly this is not the case.”

Banikiotes came up with the idea to label his son’s shoes when his son would come home from daycare with his shoes on the wrong feet.  Originally, he thought of putting simply an R and an L on the inside outer sole of each shoe. “I’m 42 and it took me more than 5 years to learn right and left. This [idea] just came to me within the past couple of days,” he said via direct message.

But what about those shoes you don’t want to—on can’t—draw on with Sharpie marker? Another Redditor weighed in with this idea: “You can also cut a sticker in half and stick it on their insoles if the rubber on the shoe is too dark to write on,” Redditor pineapplepretzel commented. While this might not be a new trick for some parents, for those Reddit parents like myself, this revelation is just too forehead-smacking-ly smart not to share.

Awkward parenting confession: My kid put on his shoes this weekend and made it down two flights of stairs, out the door, into the car and to a friend’s house before any of us realized his sneakers were on the wrong feet. Ah, yet another mom of the year moment. Now with this little kid shoe hack, we can avert shoe mixups in the future.

What are some of your brilliant parenting discoveries? Share your favorite parenting hacks in the comments.
