Mom Memes To Live By

Read next

I don’t know about you but memes are my version of therapy. Mom memes in particular make me feel normal, not alone and downright happy. My favorite place to read them is in the bathroom or the laundry room, which are my go to sanctuaries as well as my current office spaces. Let’s take a look at some of these glorious memes derived from brilliant mommy minds.

For the Mom Who Talks Like a Sailor
I am not exactly proud of my sailor-swearing tendencies but I am who I am…and I am a swearer. I used to promise myself I would never swear in front of my kids. Considering I screamed all sorts of profanities at each of their births and have not let up since, I would consider this promise an epic fail.

For the Stay at Home Mom
This is me every single day. I am normally too exhausted to run outside of the home, but I run nonetheless. I run to my bedroom, the basement and the den. I would run and hide in the washing machine if I had a fighting chance at fitting inside of it. I have FOUR small daughters. I hear the word mom every three seconds. No one is happy for very long and I am everyone’s snack slave. When I hear the garage door open at 7 p.m. I know that daddy is home and I am going to make it after all.

For Every Mom at Bedtime
Every single night this is my life! Every kid cries, needs water, needs a snack, needs to recite the Pledge Of Allegiance twelve times. Kids escape the confines of their room, they sneak around as if we can not hear them. We parents run from bedroom to bedroom trying to get all of them — ANY OF THEM — to sleep. No matter how hard I try there is always a breaking point. Angry, screaming, desperate mommy emerges every night somewhere from 9 – 10 p.m.

For the Moms That Rely on Daycare
I resigned from my career as a teacher due to this exact meme. It wasn’t even a graceful exit. I got my paycheck after going part time with two kids in daycare and healthcare coverage. I threw the paycheck down on my boss’s desk and screamed, “I quit!” and cried. Please tell me that I’m not alone.

memeFor the Mom Who Always Receives “Helpful” Advice
It is true, I do not need advice on my parenting skills. I am WELL AWARE that they are sub par most days. I also know that you are most likely a well meaning human being. Please don’t make me give you the stink eye when you try and school me. I don’t need that kind of guilt in my life right now.

memesevenFor the Mom Who Speaks Her Own Language
I cannot tell you the number of insane phrases and tongues that I now speak in. Becoming a mom has seriously warped by mind, my body and clearly my vocabulary.

For Every Mom Out There:
Every single night. It’s a long life. We deserve this.
