Michaels Is Hiring for the Holidays, So Time to Get Crafty

Michaels recently announced it plans to fill over 15,000 temporary positions at locations across the country for the holiday season. “Our store teams play an essential role in creating meaningful and fun shopping experiences, and we are excited to again welcome more than 15,000 bright, creative and friendly team members to join our team this holiday season,” Holly Shaskey-Platek, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, said in a statement.

Besides spending the season helping customers craft their way to joy and merriment, a position at Michaels comes with some great perks, too. Seasonal employees are paid competitive wages and receive a 30 percent discount. Just think of all the fabulous holiday craft projects you can finally put together—without paying full price for supplies!

A seasonal job can also lead to a full-time job. In 2017, Michaels hired 40 percent of the seasonal staff into regular roles after the holidays were over.
