New mom Elyse Myers is offering her (noncomprehensive) list of must-have postpartum products, and everyone with a newborn needs to see this

If you don’t already follow Elyse Myers on social media, why not? She’s absolutely hilarious and will make you smile every day. But she’s also one of the realest moms on social platforms. She just gave birth to her second baby, and in a now-viral video, she’s sharing some of her postpartum essentials that are saving her during round two (because even when it’s your second time, you still barely know what you’re doing).

“I’m nine days postpartum. Here is a non-comprehensive list of things that are very helpful for me postpartum—and also with newborn life—that I didn’t buy the first time around but I wish that I would have now that I’m using the second time around,” she says in her video.

https://www.tiktok.com/@elysemyers/video/7282092131332656415?_r=1&_t=8fyR2L17cgZ

The first is adult diapers, which, if you know, you know.

“Don’t even waste your time with the pads,” Myers says, which, if you know, you know.

The second thing she lists is a Peri bottle.

“The hospital is going to send you home with a peri bottle to help clean yourself when you go to the bathroom. If you can, just get one that’s upside down,” she says, with a picture onscreen of a bottle with an upward-facing nozzle. “Buy a separate one. Because then it squirts up at you so you’re not doing gymnastics when you’re going to the bathroom.”

Myers notes, as products #3 and #4, that the hospital will also send you home with pain and itch relief spray and witch hazel pads, but that it’s a good idea to stock up on both at home because you will run out.

The fifth item she mentions is a “quick-clean” sanitizing bag from Medela.

“You can reuse these 20 times,” Myers explains. “I exclusively pump and bottle feed, so I am constantly needing to wash my pump and wash bottles and I don’t want to wait for the dishwasher.” Instead, she says, she uses the sanitizing bags, which she can use in the microwave like a “mini dishwasher.”

Some of her other recommendations include a donut pillow for sitting on, a hospital-grade breast pump, and the Haakaa Ladybug, which she notes is shorter than the original Haakaa and more convenient because it doesn’t hang down while she uses it to collect breast milk. The last thing she recommends is a mini fridge to keep in the bedroom for storing milk for middle-of-the-night feedings, which saves her and her husband trips up and down the stairs and helps them get back to sleep faster (a game-changer when you have a newborn, of course).

As Myers notes, there are tons of other things she could share, because the list of things new moms could recommend to others is endless. But these do all sound like top-tier recs, and if they’ve helped her, they’re sure to help other moms.

Expectant mamas, rejoice! Maternity fashion for fall and winter wardrobe staples to start rocking now

Gone are the days of boring maternity clothes! Someone finally got the memo that pregnancy styles can be comfy and cute, and we’ve put together our fave fashions you’ll want to replicate from now till the spring—or until your little one arrives. After all, you’re a superhero growing a whole life right now; you deserve to look and, more importantly, feel the part. These fall maternity clothes aren’t just practical, either. They’re also just as cute as your non-maternity pieces.

It’s not just oversized dresses and empire waists anymore. Some of these fall maternity clothes might even just become your go-to pieces even after your baby comes. I was lucky to be pregnant alongside one of my best friends. She was two weeks ahead of me and we shared a philosophy: we talk about everything. On any given day, the ping-pong match that became our text thread looked a little something like this:

Her: Where did you buy your compression socks? Your OB suggested them for flights, right?

Me: Do you think it’s bad I woke up on my back?

Her: New adds for our research list: delaying the first bath, and cord blood banking. Have you looked into either?

Me: How did you know it was baby hiccups when you felt them?

You better believe I hung on every word of her OB-GYN appointment recaps too, as I waited for my own. I wanted to know how did it go, what did you learn, and most importantly… what happens next?

(Photo: Me and my pregnancy partner-in-questioning)

As her 40-week mark moved closer and closer, I couldn’t shake the visual that she and I were standing at the top of a giant slide. Her, ready to push off and shout to me what the ride was like, as she soared towards the bottom.

I found having her as a guide for what was ahead to be calming, and made me feel like I was in “control” (cue the laughter, I know). I’m all about sharing what worked for me in the hopes it helps someone else, so here we go!

You may already be experiencing this, but the reality is, that as your pregnancy progresses, your OB-GYN appointments begin to feel more like drive-thrus than sit-downs. And that’s exactly around the time you’ll hear phrases like posterior placenta, newborn stem cell preservation, mucus plug, and foley bulb induction.

While these are new terms for the majority of us (and they sound intimidating), they’re not to be feared or rushed through. Your appointments are your appointments after all. So, from one new mom to the next, take your time. Command the room. If you need it, bring your partner, family member or friend as reinforcement. Most of all, ask every question.

To get you started, here’s a glimpse into the notes section of my phone organized by trimester. You’ll find topics to anticipate and questions to consider before your next OB-GYN appointment, no matter where you are in your pregnancy journey. Of course, pick and choose what feels appropriate for your situation.

We’re all on this ride together, friends—and I’ll be here waiting for you at the bottom of the slide.

First Trimester (0-13 Weeks)

The newness and fragility is palpable. This is a great time to gather questions as you wait for your first appointment and ultrasound.

  • When should my partner and I get tested for our blood types?
  • Are my prenatal vitamins giving me enough of what I need?
  • Can I keep up my exercise routine throughout pregnancy?
  • Are there foods I should avoid while pregnant?
  • How do I choose pregnancy safe skincare?
  • What should I be feeling during my first trimester?
  • When do you recommend I tell my boss I’m pregnant?

Second Trimester (14-27 Weeks)

As you work through all the necessary blood work and testing, tackle some of the bigger questions around your delivery, and explore your preferences. This is a nice time for a babymoon too!

  • What pregnancy classes should I take, and when should I take them?
  • Is cramping a normal feeling while pregnant?
  • Do I really have to sleep on my left side? Is it bad to sleep on your back while pregnant?
  • Start thinking about birth intentions (I avoided the word “plan”, adds too much stress!) :
  • Can you still fly in your second trimester?
  • What can I eat before the glucose test?

Third Trimester (28-40 Weeks)

Gearing up for the homestretch! Expect more frequent doctor appointments as the weeks progress. This is your time to decide on your birth “intentions” and postpartum care.

  • How long past my due date can I go before induction? Can you ask to be induced?
  • Cervical exams during pregnancy—pros/cons? Are they elective?
  • Reminder to decide on cord blood banking! When is our deadline, and what is the cord blood storage cost?
  • What is delayed cord clamping? And why would you do it?
  • What are signs your water broke? How long after do you wait at home if it does?
  • What does a mucus plug look like?
  • Do you have pediatrician recs? When do we make our first appointment?
  • Start to freeze food! Any recommendations for the best postpartum meals?
  • What is the transition phase of labor?
  • What breast pump does my insurance cover? Should I get fitted for a breast pump now?

While there is a lot to consider (clearly!), I hope having this little list in your back pocket lets you feel prepared for your next OB-GYN appointment.

Amazon Prime Day is like Christmas in July

We’ve been waiting all year for this. Amazon Prime Day 2023 is July 11-12. It’s a big deal. Actually, lots of big deals. There are ridiculously good savings to be had when you shop, and even the days leading up to it include major sales drops courtesy of the Big A. Amazon is not playing around this year, either. And we get it—you’re being bombarded with emails and posts and splash pages. Overwhelming, to say the least. We know how hard it is to keep up with it all. We’re here to make it all much easier to get what you want, when you want it (and when it’s available).

This is a mega guide to Amazon Prime Day. We’ve made sure to divide it up by category, and our shopping editor will be updating this post as new deals drop. Make sure to bookmark this one, folks. These Prime Day deals start early and run though the 12th, so you’re sure to find something (or several somethings) that you’ve had on your list. If you’ve been waiting until “the right time”, here’s your sign. This is it.

I brought my Elvie Pump to the show of the year… and let’s just say, everyone performed beautifully

I’m a new mom. And up until recently, my “new mom” sea legs and desire to live in an absolute bubble stopped me from partaking in anything spontaneous that pre-motherhood me would eagerly explore.

That all changed when I was gifted tickets to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. Yep, that tour you’re seeing across every social media feed you scroll. Julia Roberts, Emma Stone, Aaron Rogers… our girl Taylor is single-handedly uniting generations across the continent for a masterclass in performance, dedication, and work ethic. (Can you tell I’m a fan?)

Needless to say, for us Swifties, this tour is a “find tickets, will travel” type of event. So the fact that we live in Georgia while this particular show was in Tampa was just a minor detail.

There was no way I was going to let sleep deprivation and new motherhood count me out, so after a fast and forceful YES, my husband and I started to prep for our very first road trip with our seven-week-old baby. To Tampa for Taylor we go.

The day before we were set to leave I went on a walk with one of my new mom friends, ready to laugh with her about how much I had packed for our first three-day weekend away.

Every single item we use in a day was arranged, by category, on our kitchen table. I had written and re-written our checklist, outlined exactly how I wanted to pack up the car, and even mapped out where we could stop to feed and stretch along the drive. I’m currently breastfeeding and also bottle feeding, so I squeezed in extra pump sessions to prepare us with pre-portioned bottles of breastmilk to carry us through the weekend—and also cover for the time I’d be at the show. Cooler for the car, check.

We’re also learning our son’s preferences and wanted to be prepared for any scenario, like when he prefers to be upright after a bottle—Baby Bjorn Bouncer, check. Other times, he likes to nap on the couch next to us—Doc-a-Tot, check. Maybe my husband would want to take him on a walk—should we bring our stroller with both the bassinet and upright seat options? Feels like we need to! Check and check.

As it turned out, my friend was heading to the Nashville show just a few weeks later. Bonded by new-motherhood and now Taylor Swift, we laughed about our over-preparedness and placed our guesses for which secret songs Taylor might play. Then, she asked me a question that stopped me in my tracks.

Ok, but how the heck do you plan to pump at the show?

Wow, one major detail overlooked. I hadn’t listed it on any of my checklists.

As you know, this isn’t just a three-hour concert. This is a get to the stadium one-to-two hours early for merch, account for at least one hour of traffic no matter what time you leave, jam to one hour of openers, and get amped for a three-hour set kind of a concert. Fast math: that’s approximately seven hours (give or take your fandom).

At seven weeks postpartum, I hadn’t been out of the house for more than an hour at a time, let alone seven. What’s a girl gonna do? A nursing mom’s gotta pump!

Bringing in my very large, very loud hospital-grade breast pump was not an option.

Panicked, I sent an SOS to my mom friends, and in less than a minute, I received a response: I got you. Borrow my Elvie. Have fun.

Something I’ve learned about this incredible community of moms I have entered into is that they are fast and efficient. If you want a real review of something, text a mom. If you want honest feedback on whether something is worth your time or money, join a mom group, drop in the question, and marvel at the detailed, thoughtful, emphatic, and beyond-generous candor you’ll receive.

While everyone might choose their own path for how they do things as a mom, you can bet if a recommendation is sent your way, it’s been tested. Extreme pressure tested to be exact.

Dear Reader, I’ve Found Your Portable Pump

With less than 24 hours to go before my departure to Tampa, I picked up the Elvie Pump kit off my friend’s front porch. It was the perfect amount of time for an at-home test run.

My first impression was utter relief. It’s small, sleek, intuitive to assemble, and easy to clean—features that have become of the utmost importance to me.

Elvie Pump comes with two different-sized shields, which is invaluable as I’ve learned the hard way that pumping with the wrong-sized pump shields can cause real discomfort and damage.

“Reporting live from Taylor Swift with my Elvie Pump on. Success!”

My friend-to-the-rescue had also purchased and shared two extra bottles, caps, and valves, which translated to two pumping sessions at the concert without me having to wash anything.

I charged the hub and sterilized the parts. She hadn’t used the pump in five months, so I was really impressed with how quickly the two hubs charged up. And when I say this thing is hands-free, I mean it. The pump auto-transitions from massage to expression modes at the right time for your flow. It even turns off once the liquid level has reached capacity—quite a different experience from my ball and chain at-home pump.

I tried the Elvie on under my Lover-inspired Eras outfit and sent an all-caps THANK YOU FOR SAVING ME, THIS THING IS AMAZING text to my friend.

As a final step, I reached out to the venue to make sure there wouldn’t be an issue with bringing a small canvas bag with the pump inside. I chuckled at the quick response: “We have received a good amount of these requests. Please check in with security upon your arrival to receive a ‘medical bag tag’ and there will be no issue.” Clearly, there are a lot of us Swifties in our “pumping era.”

The concert was everything I wanted it to be and more. The real gift of it all was that my new reality and pumping needs didn’t pull me away from any part of the experience. I cried, I smiled so much my face hurt, I hugged a stranger, and I got to be present during every. single. song. Really, I got the chance to feel like me again.

So, from one new mom to the next, if you’re searching for a reliable, portable pump option that really works and lets you live like you used to, I got you. Get yourself an Elvie Pump and go have fun.

If you have a new baby in New York City, there are plenty of fun things you’ll want to do in the city that never sleeps while your little one isn’t doing much of it, either!

So your family size just increased by one? (Or two or three …) Congratulations! We know you’ve probably heard this—or already experienced it yourself—but “it” goes fast. Before you know it, your newest plus-one will age out of all those adorable NYC baby activities you planned. Before that happens, make the most of those first 12 months with this list of 30 things to do with a baby in New York City. Also helpful: what all new NYC parents need to know, and some of our favorite NYC Parenting Facebook groups and parenting groups to help you find your tribe.

1. Ride a carousel

Reactions can range from delight to wonder to fear (it’s hard to know which one) but hopping on a merry-go-round is more often than not a great time, and makes for awesome photo ops. Plus, this is your first, but certainly not your last trip on a carousel, so you’ll have a snap of your itty bitty on a horse for reference as he or she grows into the ride. Our recommendations? The carousel at Central Park is a classic, while the glass-enclosed Jane’s Carousel on a pier in Dumbo is a new favorite. (Here’s our list of the best carousels NYC has to offer.)

2. Explore Central Park

It’s one of the most famous public greens in the world, and for good reason. Use it! (You can read our complete guide to Central Park with Kids here!) There’s plenty in the park to keep those under 12 months occupied, including navigating the enormous Alice in Wonderland statue, watching ducks and model boats float in the Conservatory Water  and crawling around the open expanses of the Sheep Meadow and Great Lawn. Of course, there are plenty of playgrounds in the park as well, with sandboxes, swings, and water features for when it gets steamy.

3. Visit the Brooklyn Children’s Museum

It can be a little frustrating to take a child under one to a museum; they’re often still a little too, well, little to really get the most out of the offerings. Not so with the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, which while packed with stuff for older kids, features a robust area just for the smallest of visitors. Its “Totally Tots” area (designed for kids five and under) includes a “Baby Hub” filled with bright colors and playful shapes, padded surfaces, and lots of room to practice crawling and walking.

4. Join a mom’s group

You may not think of yourself as “the type” to join a mom’s group. No one really does. But mom’s groups are great for any number of reasons: they help you get info (on doctors, kids’ classes, baby-friendly restaurants and bars); they can help you find childcare, they can keep you from being bored out of your skull. They can also provide support and a sense of community. If that sounds a little hippie dippy to you, perhaps “Ohmygod Chloe is going through an insane sleep regression and I’m losing my mind has anyone experienced this and how long does it last?” can help illustrate how this is anything but touchy-feely. Try these on for size. Parenting Facebook groups are also a great way to connect. We like these in NYC. (If, however, you need some online support from professionals, these online childbirth, newborn care, and breastfeeding classes and support groups are here for you.) And hey, once you’ve found your tribe, you’re gonna need a place to meet up. We love these indoor spots where you can gather with your parents friends and their kids.

5. Have a family photo shoot

Do your own, or hire a pro to capture some of those early precious weeks and months. We love these NYC photographers for kids and families.

6. Crawl around a playspace

Looking for baby activities near you? Well, just like NYC is bursting with coffee shops and bodegas, it’s surprisingly bursting with playspaces, too. Most have areas reserved for the tiniest of visitors. Here’s our list of the top ones in the city. In Brooklyn? Check out these! Need a place in Queens? Check these out!

7. Eat out

You might think you’re at the point in your child’s life when you can’t really go out to a restaurant with them. Parents of three year-olds would strongly disavow that notion, pointing out that now is the perfect time to roll into a restaurant and enjoy a meal while your little one naps, grabs some quality binkie time, or enjoys a bottle. (Three year-olds are much less easily amused.) It doesn’t have to be Per Se, and it doesn’t have to be at eight o’clock at night, but you and your partner deserve to leave the house and have someone else do the cooking. May we suggest brunch at one of these kid-friendly spots? And hey, if it’s nice out, check out these places to eat outside with kids!

8.  Visit Governors Island

There’s always something happening on the island, and it’s a great place to spend the day with kids of any age. (Also: very stroller-friendly.) Plus, it’s open year-round now! See our guide to visiting Governors Island with kids here!

9. Watch a movie

When a new baby hits the scene, it can feel like you may never see a movie in the theater ever again—especially if it’s your first time at the kiddie rodeo. (While your movie-going habits may never return to their pre-baby levels, rest assured you will, in fact, watch a film on the big screen with your significant other sooner than you think.) But why wait? New York is home to movie theaters that welcome you and your little one for a screening featuring lowered volume and light levels, changing table-equipped restrooms and free admission for the tiny culture vultures. Check out Nitehawk Cinema’s “Hawks With Babies”  series every Tuesday afternoon, at both its Williamsburg and its  Prospect Park locations, which features first-run movies. At the Alamo Drafthouse in downtown Brooklyn, babes are welcome at the “Alamo for All” sensory-friendly screenings. Alamo also recently opened a theater downtown in the Financial District! See our full list of kid-friendly movie theaters here!

10. Take a museum stroller tour

We won’t pretend your baby is getting any real cultural edification out of one of these kid-friendly tours, but it certainly can’t hurt to take an infant to the Guggenheim or the Whitney. Both museums offer tours specifically for parents and their babies. Note: this is also a great option for a mom’s group outing. (Many museums allow strollers, but contact one before you visit to be sure.)

11. Go on a stroller-friendly hike

If you’d rather get some fresh air, we also love these outdoor stroller hikes in and around NYC. Are you a Park Slope Parents member? They offer stroller tours of Green-wood Cemetery (particularly stunning in spring) several times a year.

12. Explore Brooklyn Bridge Park

A sprawling, riverside outdoor activity Shangri-La with views of Manhattan, Brooklyn Bridge Park is worth a trip with the little one. While many of the park’s features are created for kids skew older (they’ll love Slide Mountain and the Water Lab at Pier 6 in a couple of years) there is still plenty to enjoy here from “Swing Valley” to pint-sized playgrounds for crawlers on Pier 5, to lots of open, green space for lounging in the grass. Plus, a giant sand play area! PS: Williamsburg’s Domino Park is a similar, destination playground with water fun, too!

13. Take a swim class

They say that babies naturally know how to swim (or you know, something like that). It’s never too early to get kids in the water, and a swim class is another chance to bond with your child that actually serves a practical purpose beyond forming attachment. Here’s where you and your guppie can get kick-kick-kicking!

14. Hit up a drop-in class or open play

You don’t need to commit to eight or more weeks of a class to expose your baby to music, art, or just other babies. A great way to determine the best activity for both you and the little one, these one-offs are also an opportunity to chat with other parents who are navigating the whole process of raising a small human being. Plus: your living room isn’t a mess when it’s over. In Manhattan? These places are great!  Check out these drop-in spots in Brooklyn or these drop-in options in Queens!

15. Take a music class

There’s no shortage of classes where you and the little one can get your tune on in New York; it’s just a matter of what kind of music you want to play (or hear). For classic, multi-culti fare, try Music Together. Music for Aardvarks celebrates the experiences of being as city kid (most famously, in an ode to taxi rides). And there are so many more to consider as well. All of them are guaranteed to make use of instruments and at least once make you feel like an idiot as you prance around in a circle. But the kids, they love it.

16. Try some baby-friendly fitness classes, too

The yoga, swimming and kickboxing that you did while pregnant? You can do it with baby in tow! (Well, okay, maybe not the kickboxing). Harlem Yoga Studio is dedicated to being affordable and accessible to all moms and their babies, while The Yoga Room in Astoria and Long Island City brings a similar service to Queens, Bread & Yoga serves Inwood, and Brooklyn has Shanti Baby Yoga. Feel like swimming instead of omm-ing? Imagine Swimming and Take Me to the Water have locations around the city, while 92nd St. Y and 14th St. Y fulfill the needs of those looking for more than just swimming lessons, with other family programming.

17. Get a library card

If you’re already a fan and patron of the library, good for you. If not, you soon will be! Not only will your local branch keep your bedtime reading fresh, it also probably hosts lots of events like storytime, performances and more — for free! (Also: libraries can be a great rainy day hangout solution. Other families will be there, we promise.)

18. Score some gently-used and adorable duds

Sure, you should splurge on a super adorable ensemble from a spot like Jacadi or Livly or Two Kids and a Dog. But be prepared for your child to wear it for about half a minute. Then head to a spot for secondhand scores also barely worn at spots like Parachute Brooklyn,  Owl Tree and Jane’s Exchange. Or check out local online consignment boutique Consignment4kids.com, where you can score high-end clothes for cheap, perhaps make a few bucks and clear out the closets. (If your items don’t sell, the shop will take care of donations for you if you wish.)

19. Do whatever you want for Halloween

Future Halloweens will be filled with debate and much mind-changing, but this year it’s all you. Make your own, pay top dollar or score a mint-condition costume at a thrift store or consignment shop, but whatever you do, don’t stress and have fun. Need some inspiration? These are some of our favorite NYC-inspired costumes from Halloween 2021.

20. Go to the zoo

The zoo is one of those places you can’t wait for the baby to experience. Warning: it takes a while for them to really appreciate it. While that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go, it does mean you should go the right one. The Bronx Zoo is great, but massive, and actually the better choice when kids are older and super psyched to see animals. Our choice for a lovely, manageable afternoon with some up-close-and-personal farm animal action as well as well-designed habitats is the Queens Zoo in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. The Prospect Park Zoo is also great and more compact, and has farm animals to interface with as well. (Hot tip: a family membership to the Wildlife Conservation Society gets you into all of the zoos—and the New York Aquarium—and offers other perks. It’s one of our favorite family memberships!)

21. Get a haircut

Some kids remain close to bald as a cue ball for what seems like ages, but even they typically need a haircut before the first year is up. Shops specializing in kids’ cuts can be found all over the city, and many do double duty as a toy or shoe store as well. Try one of these for the inaugural snip.

22. Learn how to wear the baby

Wearing the baby is not for everyone, but lately, it seems like it’s for a lot of people. (You kind of can’t beat the convenience of a strap-and-go baby transporting device; sometimes a stroller is just too much.) It can be tough to get the hang of it, though. Master the wrap with a baby-wearing class. We suggest The Wild (formerly Wild Was Mama) and Metro Minis/babywearing nyc for help getting in the sling of things.

23. Try a subscription service

Need some easy things to do with babies? A turnkey subscription service can make your life as a new parent so much easier, and, honestly, a lot more fun. Clothes, developmental toys, food: take your pick. You deserve it.

24. Consider a meal kit

You’ve got a lot going on. Try getting a meal or two a week handled with one of these meal kits. (We tried them all!) If that’s still too much work—trust us, we get it!—you can make things even easier by trying a meal delivery service.

25. Get out of town

This is our kind of pillow talk

Breastfeeding can be a beautiful and comfortable bonding experience between you and your baby, but it can also be a pain in the…well, several different places, actually. Especially if you’re just starting out, you may be battling some soreness, stiff arms, maybe an achy back. That’s all totally normal, for the record. And that’s where the miraculous invention of the nursing pillow comes in. These little (or bigger, if you prefer—whatever works best for you) wonders can make all the difference in comfort and ease during those long feeding sessions. Plus, they’re more supportive, comfortable, and convenient than a bed pillow or couch cushion. These are designed for breastfeeding, and once you try one, you’ll never look back.

Don’t know which of the multiple options in nursing pillows to chose? No sweat. We’re here to help you navigate the world of nursing pillows—where foam, fabric, and fluff collide to create the ultimate breastfeeding sidekick. With these pillows by your side (literally), you’ll be able to conquer any feeding challenge that comes your way. Meet the superhero companions of every breastfeeding superheroine (that’s you)—the best nursing pillows out there. Get ready to change your whole breastfeeding game with one of these beauties.

Boppy Anywhere Nursing Pillow

Boppy

You already know Boppy makes great nursing pillows. Here's why their latest is a game-changer. It's a smaller pillow with an open design and a yoga-inspired fabric belt to attach around you for a customized fit. That means it's comfortable for women of all shapes and sizes, even those recovering from a C-section. Take this smaller pillow with you on your travels, while running errands, anywhere you plan to be. It's also machine-washable and folds up compactly so you can fit it in a diaper bag. My Brest Friend Super Deluxe Nursing Pillow

My Brest Friend/Amazon

A longtime mom favorite, the My Best Friend wraparound nursing pillow is celebrating over 25 years of helping moms and babies with breastfeeding with an upgraded pillow with even more thoughtful features. These include increased back and lumbar support to keep moms comfortable, increased height and thickness in the front cushion to help baby into more optimal positioning, an attached pouch for necessities like burp cloths and nipple cream, a waterproof inner cover, and a tracker to help you remember which side you last nursed on. Like the original and the inflatable travel pillow highlighted below, this pillow wraps around mom's body and fastens with an adjustable clasp to give moms back and arm support so they can focus on baby's latch and comfort. My Brest Friend Super Deluxe Nursing Pillow ($59.95)—Buy Here!

DockATot La Maman Wedge Nursing Pillow

DockATot

Finally! A nursing pillow that doesn't look like one. This gorgeous pillow curves around your body to support baby or mama's arms while nursing. When not in use, you'll be happy to leave it on display—and you can keep using it as an accent pillow when your nursing days are behind you. Available in four elegant patterns, this pillow is part of DockATot's collection that coordinates with its other products (bassinets, swaddle sets, and more). littlebeam Nursing Pillow

littlebeam

This breastfeeding pillow is small in size but big on added perks. In addition to positioning your baby at the right height for feeding in all nursing positions, it's also great for bottle feeding, as a tummy time support, or to give mom a little comfort as a head rest, lower back support, or between your legs for more comfortable sleep. Created by a family nurse practitioner and board-certified lactation consultant, the littlebeam nursing pillow is also the perfect companion for travel and daily outings, since it's small enough to fit in your diaper bag. littlebeam Nursing Pillow ($45.00)—Buy Here!

Boppy Classic Feeding and Nursing Support Pillow

Boppy

Trusted by moms for decades, the award-winning Boppy nursing pillow is a time-tested option. The firm but flexible U-shaped pillow allows for more ergonomic feeding positions and also works great for tummy time and supported sitting. The slipcover is removable and washable, and with the pillow at a reasonable price point, you can afford to have an extra cover (and there are a bunch to choose from). Boppy Classic Feeding and Nursing Support Pillow (From $45.00)—Buy Here!

Béaba Big Flopsy Maternity and Nursing Pillow

Beaba

For the expectant mother, the Big Flopsy doubles as a maternity body pillow. Although one of the largest nursing pillows on the market, the non-toxic micropearl fill keeps it lightweight and flexible. Both the cover and pillow are machine-washable. From helping pregnant moms find a comfortable sleeping position to providing support for nursing moms and supervised playtime with toddlers, the Big Flopsy is one you can use for years to come. Béaba Big Flopsy Maternity and Nursing Pillow ($109.95)—Buy Here!

The Nursie

Nursie

The Nursie was designed with portability in mind by wrapping around mom’s arm, much like swim floaties go around a child’s arm—no straps needed. It can be used for any nursing position, is small enough to fit in a carry-on bag while traveling, and is machine-washable. It props baby up to help reduce reflux and give mom the right position to avoid back and neck pain. The Nursie ($34.95)—Buy Here!

Nook Organic Niche Nursing Pillow

With its 100% organic, breathable and sustainable materials, the Niche Nursing Pillow is perfect for the environmentally conscious mom. The squared U-shape provides more surface area than the rounded options. The covers come in several colors and are machine-washable. In addition to being used for feedings, the pillow can serve as an armrest, a tummy-time support and a body pillow for ages 2 and up. Nook Organic Niche Nursing Pillow ($89.00)—Buy Here!

Leachco Cuddle-U Nursing Pillow

Keep your little wiggler in a reclined position for optimal post-feeding digestion with the patented seat wrap on the Cuddle-U Nursing Pillow. The wrap is adjustable and tucks away into a concealed pocket on the bottom of the pillow when it isn't needed. The pillow is generously sized for those moms who find it most comfortable when baby is boosted up a little. The pillow and cover are not washable, so you may want to splurge on the sham-style removable cover that’s not included. Leachco Cuddle-U Nursing Pillow ($34.95)—Buy Here!

Twin Z Pillow

For moms of twins, there’s no need to buy two nursing pillows when you have the Twin Z Pillow. This pillow was specifically designed for nursing or bottle-feeding two babies at one time. The dual holes where babies sit have buckles that make them smaller for newborns. It can also be used as a maternity pillow, at tummy time, and as an infant support pillow. Twin Z Pillow ($142.00)—Buy Here!

Infantino Elevate Adjustable Nursing Pillow

The innovative design of the Elevate Adjustable Nursing Pillow allows for three different elevation levels, which can help babies latch. Find the perfect height for you and baby, no matter the feeding position. It also supports upright feeding for babies with reflux. Fold it in half and secure it with the ribbon for easy storage. Oh, and it’s machine washable. Infantino Elevate Adjustable Nursing Pillow ($49.99)—Buy Here!

My Brest Friend Inflatable Travel Nursing Pillow

My Brest Friend

The Inflatable Travel Nursing Pillow is the same design as the original nursing pillow from My Brest Friend but ideal for moms on the go and for traveling with your little one. When deflated, it packs flat in a diaper bag or purse. The wraparound shape and straps secure the pillow in place, and the straps are release silently to avoid waking baby. It comes with a handy pocket on the side (for burp cloths, bottles, toys or your phone) and a price that's friendly on your wallet. My Brest Friend Inflatable Travel Nursing Pillow ($30.01)—Buy Here!

Blessed Nest Nesting Pillow

Snuggle baby into this pillow. Its buckwheat hull filling conforms to baby, instead of simply being underneath. The pyramid shape of the fill molds like a beanbag but holds its shape, so mom doesn’t have to provide as much support and can try out many different feeding positions. The pillow is also certified organic with a washable slipcover. Blessed Nest Nesting Pillow ($98.00)—Buy Here!
