If there’s one thing we know to be true, it’s that kids will keep outgrowing their shoes, whether you get out to the store or not. If you’re anything like us, it feels like the very first thing that gets too small is a pair of kiddo’s shoes. How does that happen?! There’s actually a pretty good explanation (thanks, science!). From ages 1-3 years, kids need a new pair of shoes two to three times a year on average. For older kids, ages 3-10, twice a year. Babies’ feet can grow up to half a shoe size every two months until they hit the 15-month marker! Not only are their feet growing in size, but they’re also changing shape rapidly. No wonder we’re always on the hunt for new shoes!
In hopes of making shoe shopping easier, we’ve found some of the best shoes for kids, and all of them can be bought online. These kicks are from our favorite brands and retailers, so you’re sure to find the right pair for your growing little ones. And, if you’re looking for weather-appropriate shoes for kids, check out our favorite water shoes for kids and the best boots for kids.

The best baby feeding supplies for mitigating messes
When it comes to finding the best baby feeding supplies, there’s absolutely no shortage of options. Whether it’s your first little one or your newest addition, feeding gear is always evolving. Of course, that’s a good thing, but it can leave you feeling a little overwhelmed with choices. But you have us, so you can relax and let us handle the hard part.
Most of us would agree that the best options have a few key features. We’re looking for suction-bottom plates and bowls (babies are mighty flingy as far as bowls and plates go), high-quality baby-safe materials, soft-on-the-gums utensils, and weighted sippy cups (because of that flingy thing again). A lot of feeding supplies are created with food-grade silicone, since it’s soft, but we also found stainless steel and bamboo options for those of us looking to skip the plastic. There are even options that also keep your comfort in mind. From bibs to bowls to snack containers, these are some seriously clever products for feeding your little one. Check out our list of the best baby feeding supplies below.

We rounded up some of our favorites here that we’re especially fond of, but really, the whole Joanna Gaines Holiday Collection is beautiful. Blankets, wreaths, and stockings are just a few stars of this wintery show. There’s also decorative signs, garland, tree collars—pick some to add to your existing decorations, or make 2023 the year you redo your entire set up. Read on to see our picks!
Preserved Grass Leaf & Snowberry Wreath
Target
Add a natural vibe to your holiday decor with this 21" preserved wreath.
Pre-Lit Faux Pine Christmas Tree with Clear Lights
Target
We're loving the intentionally-minimal tree that doesn't just give your space the farmhouse vibe Joanna Gaines is famous for; fewer branches means your ornaments will really be highlighted.
Looking for a way to show off all those holiday cards you get this season? This 26" scalloped holder lets you display them neatly and gives them a place of honor wherever you set it up.
Farmhouse decor is all about the natural elements, so adding a few strands of this wooden bead garland to your tree is a great way to keep your farmhouse style through the holiday.
Nothing sounds like the holiday quite like the tinkling of bells. Popping this hanger on any door in your home will keep the bells ringing through the entire season.

Full overhaul or a few pieces of fall home decor: we have it all
Even though spring is traditionally when everyone is in a cleaning/organizing/updating mood, we’d argue that fall is one of the best times to tackle it all. It’s cooler outside, making it much easier to feel motivated (if you’re us, at least, but we bet you’re similar). The -ber months are also great for knocking out those home improvement projects, small or large, ahead of the holiday season. Not to mention, the kiddos are back in school, so you might just find you have a little more bandwidth to check out fall home decor or YouTube some DIYs.
Going all out? We have ideas. Wanting a quick refresh? We’ve got suggestions. Maybe we’ve had a few too many Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espressos (it’s a mouthful, but they’re divine); maybe we’re just ready to be done with the heat. The point is, we’re all about fall this year. So whether you’ve had your fall home decor up since July, or you’re just looking for inspiration for the upcoming months, these fall refresh ideas are ready when you are.
The Nugget Play Couch in "Nuggeteer"
Nugget
You already love the Nugget, and they just launched this limited-edition color: Nuggeteer. We're swooning over this warm, vibrant orange hue that's oh-so-perfect for fall. The Nugget is both a piece of furniture, a fort, and a toy since it can be configured in any way your little ones want. Remember, Nuggeteer is only available in limited quantities—once it's gone, it's gone!
Known for their all-natural 100% soy wax candles that are handcrafted in an artisanal way, Unplug Soy Candles designs, pours, and packages each one with in Fishers, Indiana. Their fall and Halloween collection this year is absolutely adorable, plus they're designed so you pick your print and your scent. Choose from autumnal scents like Cranberry Chutney, Apples & Maple Bourbon, and Balsam & Cedar.
Totter + Tumble Play Mats Artisanal & Ikat Collection
Totter Tumble
Totter + Tumble thinks soft and cushy play mats should look great (and we obviously agree). We've loved all their prints, and their new Artisanal & Ikat Collection makes it easy to update your house for the new season, give your little ones a soft place to play, and a wipes-up-fast cleaning surface. They're available in multiple colors, sizes, and shapes! And did we mention they're reversible? Because they are.
NewAge Products Bold Series 7-Piece 24-Gauge Steel Garage Storage System in Deep Red
NewAge Products
If you've been wading through bins, boxes, and bags searching for your Halloween and fall decorations in your garage, you're probably swearing that this is the year you get it organized. Whether you need a little spruce up or a full overhaul, this storage set from NewAge is sure to finally get it all under control. With lockable doors, stain-resistant work surfaces, and multiple colors to choose from, this is an investment that creates a gift that keeps on giving.
We're already hooked on Pura. Their smart home (and car!) fragrance diffusers let us schedule, change strengths, switch between scents, and know when the fragrance vials are running low, all within the Pura app. Add scents that come from best-loved brand collabs (think: Anthropologie, Disney, NEST, and Homesick, to name a few) and your whole home will smell like a fall wonderland. It's a thing. Trust us.
One thing that's easy to miss about the summer is keeping your plants outside to soak up the sun. Instead of trying to keep them bundled up and safe from the cooler elements this fall, bring them inside and pop them under one of these chic Soltech Indoor Plant Lights. They're available in a bunch of different styles, so you can keep your plant babies happy and your cozy home aesthetic on point.
Why do reviewers rate this faux fur throw from Crate&Barrel 5 stars? Ultra-soft, perfect for the couch or foot of your bed, and machine-washable (so it'll even stand up against your kiddos)? That sounds 5-star worthy to us. Available in 7 fall-ready colors.
The summer heat makes it genuinely difficult to want to take on projects, outside or inside. Now that it's cooling off, now is the perfect time to tackle the big projects ahead of the holidays (There. We said it.). Modular Closets designs custom closets, pantry storage, and garage solutions (if you're anything like us, you might be dreaming of organizing all three).
The Hypnotizing Fire Candle from The Harmonist might become your go-to fall scent. Pimento berries, Bulgarian rose, cloves, and more, all blend together for a unique and downright addictive fragrance. Bonus points for the sleek candle jar, too!
Cookware that's pretty doesn't really do it for us unless it also works really well. The Meyer Cookware set delivers on both counts, and although we're partial to the Spark Edition colors pictured for the fall, there's also a grey-toned Cinder & Spark Edition that's so cool, too.
The Nest Learning Thermostat is a smart thermostat that learns your schedule and programs itself to help save energy (really!). You can control it from anywhere with the Nest app, and it works with Alexa and Google Assistant so you can adjust the temperature with just your voice. And it’s designed to be seen, with a big, bright display and several different metal finishes.
A new mattress? Don't mind if we do. There's a really good chance you don't realize how uncomfortable your old mattress is. Maybe you just wake up stiff, can't get comfortable, or end up sinking into the low part one one side or the other. The award-winning Nolah Evolution isn't just comfortable. It literally provides cooling, heat-dissipating support thanks to 9 full layers of technology (or magic. We don't really understand how they're this comfortable. We're just glad they are.)
Okay, we admit, this set is meant for the holidays, and while it's perfect for the winter months, the notes of pine, cinnamon, and amber are just as cozy for the fall. It also doesn't hurt to snap a set or two up for gifts this upcoming season!
Mirrors make a huge difference to any room, but one in the entryway? Chef's kiss. It opens up large and small spaces, gives you a place to hang your keys, and comes in several metal finishes, sizes, and shapes, too!

Kids’ snow boots, rain boots, and anytime boots: they’re all right here!
Whether winter has arrived where you live or you’re planning to head to the snow in the next few months, you’ll want to make sure the kids are ready for whatever the weather throws at you (starting with kids’ snow boots, of course). We’ve combed through the latest winter boots and found a ton of different stylish options for kids—rain, slush or snow. Scroll down to see our picks.
Rain Boots for Toddlers & Preschoolers
For early walkers and new-to-school routiners, you want shoes that are fun, easy on (and off) and puddle-proof.
Western Chief Light-up Waterproof Rain Boot
Amazon
For your preschooler or kinder-kid who likes to sparkle, Western Chief has this fun unicorn print that will have them dancing in the puddles.
A mini-version of the iconic Classic Wellington Boots, this is scaled down just for little feet. These boots come in bright colors and they're perfect for little hands to easily pull on for muddy adventures. They’ll outgrow them before they wear them out, we know it!
As kids get older, you want something a little sturdier and a bit less “light-up” but since sizes change so quickly, you want to make sure they hold up as hand-me-downs or donations. You’re also looking for something that allows independent on/off.
Native Shoes Kids Kensington Treklite Boots
Native Shoes
These ultra light and ultra waterproof boots are made of vegan materials and will be the stylish shoe your little one chooses when the days are wet. Use the pull tab in the back to get these on with ease.
This super-quick pull-on boot will keep your intrepid explorer's feet nice and dry whether stomping puddles or fording a creek. Bonus: they’ll last through multiple seasons and multiple kids.
Once kids hit their tweenage years, style (and less glitz, we’ve found) seem to be the most requested. You’re moving on to adult sizes but still want that cozy comfort to keep them dry.
Chooka Bellevue Rain Chelsea Rain Boots
Amazon
These ankle-height Chelsea style are as simple and sleek as a rainboot can get, with neutral, matte coloring and a soft, fleece lining. We voted the black color for a basic that is gender-neutral and goes with anything, anywhere, but there's also an equally versatile olive hue.
Sperry’s classic-look duck boot in mini sizes, these boots have the ultimate wet/dry traction and a zipper closure for close fit and easy on/off. They’re perfect for super active kids who never let a little rain or light snow stop them.
We love this option for rainy days when you want to hit the trail. The mid height gives you extra support but you're still comfortable enough for a full day's adventure. It's waterproof so you don't have to worry about complaints about wet socks.
For early walkers and the PreK crowd, you want that combo of a snug fit that won’t slip off too easily while still being an easy-to-put-on-and-go type of boot!
Stonz Puffer Boots
Amazon
Tiny robot boots! Waterproof, flexible with non-slip soles, these weather-resistant little shoes are lined with fleece and have a toggle closure to make sure they stay on their feet. You can slip them on over bare feet, socks, shoes or Stonz Bootie Liners, making them good for nearly every season.
Northside knows how it is when you are trying to get kids into their winter gear—you want it to be done fast! We love so much about these snow boots for kids like the color choices, ease of putting on and price tag. There's a toggle at the top so you can keep snow from getting in above the boot top and a Velcro closure at the ankle to make it snug for easier walking. It's also Thinsulate-lined so toes stay toasty.
This shoe is cozy like a slipper and waterproof like a rain boot, and the adorable pattern makes them your kiddos new favorite stomper. Take on cold rainy days or magical snow days with these sweeties! Plus, they're machine washable!
This ultra-light, ultra-warm waterproof snow boot has cold-weather grip and 400g of KEEN.WARM insulation rated to -40°F. The molded shell construction on bottom prevents slush from soaking in, while the cozy collar repels snow and cold rain without the use of harmful PFCs.
Kids of school-age can generally tie laces quicker, but you still want something that goes on easy and tightens up snugly without too much hassle.
MERRELL Snow Crush 3.0 Waterproof Boot
MERRELL
This is the boot for the kid that won’t come inside, no matter the temp. They’re rated to -25 degrees F and fitted with super warm insulation, extra grip technology for traction and an easy toggle closure.
The Howser is a step-up from a slipper while still providing at-home comfort, yet rugged enough to wear on outside. A go-to for walks on the trails, car camping or backyard fun while staying cozy and comfortable.
These super warm boots with a classic snow boot look are perfect for cold climates where kids walk to school or wait for the bus (or have snow banks to play in at recess). They’re temperature rated to -25 degrees F and have an easy toggle closure along with added grip technology for slippery sidewalks. And they’re slip-on, so getting ready is a breeze.
Style and snow boots don’t always go hand in hand, but with shoe sizes gradually becoming more stable you can splurge for something a little more low-profile without sacrificing the warmth.
Kamik Lawrence Boot
Amazon
Featuring a lightweight rubber outsole for comfort, flexibility, and weightless style, the Lawrence also has seam-sealed waterproof construction to ensure ultimate performance in slippery and wet conditions.
KEEN’s best selling waterproof boot, the Kootenay has 100g of insulation plus a thermal lining to keep not-so-little feet toasty in colder weather. Same easy on/off design and comfort kids love with a sleek leather design.
We love the classic look of these boots that are perfect for your tween (or even mom!). Lace them up nice and tight and know that your feet will stay warm with the 200 gram Thinsulate insulation. They are perfect for adventures in the woods and chic enough for aprés activities like hot cocoa by the fire.
