Movie theaters across the country have closed in response to coronavirus concerns. Universal Pictures announced that they would release their upcoming animated film Trolls World Tour on-demand the same day it is released in theaters. Now you can enjoy Trolls World Tour on it’s planned release day, Apr. 10, from the comfort of your own living room.

NBCUniversal said that due to the current circumstances that are not allowing viewers to get to the theater, Universal Pictures will make its movies available in the home on the same day as their global theatrical releases. Beginning with DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls World Tour, which opens on Apr. 10, the company will also make movies that are currently in theatrical release available on-demand starting as early as Mar. 20. Titles including The Hunt, The Invisible Man and   will be available on many of the popular on-demand services for a 48 hour rental period for a suggested retail price of $19.99 in the US and the price equivalent internationally.

“Universal Pictures has a broad and diverse range of movies with 2020 being no exception. Rather than delaying these films or releasing them into a challenged distribution landscape, we wanted to provide an option for people to view these titles in the home that is both accessible and affordable,” said Jeff Shell, CEO, NBCUniversal. “We hope and believe that people will still go to the movies in theaters where available, but we understand that for people in different areas of the world that is increasingly becoming less possible.”

Barbie dolls are becoming more and more inclusive. The most recent series from Mattel features dolls with vitiligo and prosthetic limbs. Now, all future campers, Dreamhouses and other Barbie homes will be wheelchair-accessible.

Barbie Dreamhouse

The new Dreamhouse design looks the same as the old one with one exception. The elevator has been made larger with a tiny sloped ramp so Barbie can roll her wheelchair right up and in.

These changes will be made on all new production going forward, meaning that the current store availability will not reflect the changes.

The idea of laying in a wooden box with absolutely nothing to do might sound terrifying to some, but for parents who can’t even go to the bathroom by themselves, the Six Flags 30 Hour Coffin Challenge sounds like a dream come true.

Six Flags amusement parks are bringing back this unusual contest just in time for Halloween. The challenge invites contestants to spend 30 hours in a 2-by-7 casket in order to win $600. With the exception of designated bathroom breaks (which don’t involve any accompanying kids!), contestants must remain in the box for the full 30 hours in order to qualify for the prize.

The way some parents see it, however, staying in the box for a day and a half is a prize in itself. No lunches to pack, no beds to make, nothing but resting… in peace. Well, sort of. According to a press release contestants might end up sharing a coffin with “scary slithering reptiles” or “munching on giant cockroaches.”

Still, parents aren’t dissuaded. “Moms in particular are excited about the Coffin Challenge,” Six Flags spokesperson Sandra Daniels told TODAY Parents. “They’re saying, ‘Sign me up! I need a break!”

https://www.instagram.com/p/Bpk9rG4nOxW/

Each of Six Flags 15 parks will put a different twist on the challenge, finding ways to scare contestants into giving in. After all, the idea is to narrow it down to just one winner in the end. The Jackson, New Jersey, location will blast songs like “Baby Shark” on repeat during overnight hours. Yep, a mom is definitely going to win this challenge. Hands down.

If you’re hoping to join the challenge, check out the full details on how to enter here.

The Kar-Jenner clan is known for their over-the-top birthday parties. And, according to the pics aunt Kim Kardashian West posted on Instagram over the weekend, True Thompson’s first bday bash was no exception.

Khloe’s daughter turned one on Apr. 12 and the fab fete she recently held (last month) looks like it was fun for all. Kim K’s pics include sweet shots of her kiddos, all wearing matching creamy beige dresses. That is, expect for son Saint—who got matchy with his daddy, Kanye West, wearing grey sweats.

Even though aunt Kim only recently posted pics of her niece’s big day, mama Khloe Instagrammed the event several weeks ago. Khloe’s posts show a pastel-hued rainbow cascade of balloons, an over-sized “True” topiary, cute cotton candy animals and pink-maned “unicorn” ponies for the kids to ride on.

While Kim K is busy posting photos of her family’s fun time at True’s party now, we’re betting she’ll have something (or rather, someone) new to post about soon. The reality-star/entrepreneur/media mogul is about to become a mama for the fourth time any day!

With Arbor Day right around the corner, a group of AccuWeather employers decided to celebrate early by planting a Dwarf Alberta Spruce in front of their State College, Pennsylvania office building. If you’re wondering why an office tree-planting party got so much attention, read on for the deets on what the AccuWeather team did to up the adorable factor and make Arbor Day even more fun!

So why did the PA-based office staff decide to green their outdoor area? When the AccuWeather team brainstormed ways to celebrate both Earth and Arbor Days, they landed on an action that would help the environment in several seriously significant ways—planting a tree.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BwXbMiAlLRh/

After planting the tree, the team decided their new addition needed a name. Instead of nicknaming the Dwarf Alberta Spruce themselves, they came up with a few potential ideas for the general public (that’s you!) to choose from.

The oh-so-creatively cute names include Spruce Springsteen, Alberta Clipper, Forrest Stump, Treeyoncé, and Albus Dumbledwarf. Obviously the majority of the names are based in pop culture, with one exception. Unlike Spruce Springsteen or Forest Stump, Alberta Clipper doesn’t come from a music icon or epic movie. The folks at AccuWeather are, of course, majorly into all things atmospheric. An Alberta Clipper is a winter storm system that starts in or near Alberta, Canada and sweeps down into the United States, quickly spreading cold Canadian air and snow.

How can you vote for your fave name? Visit the AccuWeather website for more info on picking the company’s newest tree’s name!

7 Reasons Kids Need to Play Outside (& How to Get Them There)

From the mom you see toting her four kids around town on wheels to new trails and bike lanes popping around the country, it’s clear that biking is not just a mode of transportation for families, but a way of life. In honor of National Biking Month, we took a look around, and found cool parents who make the daily trek on their wheels in sunshine, rain, and yes, even snow. Flip through the album below for 10 inspiring, adventurous and fun stories.

Erin Feher Montoya – San Francisco, Ca

The great climate, and lack of desirable parking make the hilly streets of San Francisco a haven for biking advocates, and Red Tricycle's city editor, Erin Feher is no exception. She's spent a lifetime riding (11 in the Bay Area), and now, living in downtown San Francisco with husband Danny, and daughter Orion means a bike is the family's main mode of transport, whether it’s to the grocery store, the beach, school, or anywhere, really!

Orion has been up front and center on the seat of Erin’s bike since she was nine months old—the earliest age kids are able to hold up their head and support the weight of a helmet—and she loves riding shotgun with mom, or, in the trailer behind dad.

Coolest biking experience? Erin and Danny even bike while on vacation. They’ve ridden through most of Holland, much of Italy (they got hitched there mid-bike tour), and Paris, too!
