The crib to “big kid” bed transition is a major milestone for lots of families. But when Chrissy Teigen’s daughter, Luna, celebrated this magical moment, it wasn’t all smiles and giggles—but it sure was the sweetest.

In a recent series of Instagram posts, Teigen shared a sneak peek into her tot’s adorable reaction to getting a new bed. As Luna inspected her “big girl” sleeping space, she noticed that something very important was missing—her toys!

After taking a long look at the bed, Luna turned around and marched over to the corner of her room. Pointing at her toys, she said, “Why you take that out?” The two-year-old grabbed as many of her furry friends as she could and started placing them back onto the bed as Teigen responded, “You can do whatever you want.”

The model and cookbook author-mama also posted a second clip, featuring Luna and her daddy, musician John Legend, putting the stuffed animals and dolls onto the bed. Ever the doting dad, Legend asked his daughter, “Who else do you want in the bed with you?” And how did Luna respond?

Instead of asking for more toys, the couldn’t-be-cuter toddler said sweetly, “Thank you mama.”

Chrissy Teigen Takes on Would-Be Mom-Shamers for the Umpteenth Time

Boarding an airplane with kids and babies in tow can be a nerve-racking experience for many parents. One mom on a long international flight earned praise when she gave out earplugs to the entire plane—but was that really necessary?

A mom traveling with her four-month-old baby from Seoul, South Korea to San Francisco passed out 200 tiny care packages filled with ear plugs, candy and note that read, “Today, I am going to the U.S. with my mom and grandma to see my aunt,” the note read, as if it were from the baby. “I’m a little bit nervous and scary (sic) because it’s my first flight in my life, which means that I may cry or make too much noise. I will try to go quietly, though I can’t make any promises… Please excuse me.”

Facebook user Dave Corona, a fellow passenger on the flight, shared pictures of the package in a post which quickly went viral. The gesture was incredibly kind and thoughtful, gaining plenty of praise by commenters on the post. But at the same time, as many commenters also pointed out, the mom’s gesture was entirely unnecessary.

One Facebook user commented, “That was a nice gesture, but I think people need to be more understanding on flights and not make parents and their children feel so ‘unwelcome’ on flights. We were all babies at one point in life.”

It’s one thing to be aware of others, but babies and kids have to travel just like adults. Parents shouldn’t have to fear flying just because they have kids in tow—nor should they feel like they have to go above and beyond to make accommodations for other passengers.

Finding an imaginative way to take monthly baby milestone photos is a challenge that many of us mamas struggle with. If you’re looking for something that goes beyond the same old chalkboard plus baby’s age number, photographer Dani Giannandrea has an idea that you’ll want to copy—no matter how you slice it.

Giannandrea, a Maryland-area wedding photographer, recently took the social media-verse by storm after posting one of the sweetest and most creative baby’s first year calendar pics. Instead of month-by-month ages rustically written in chalk, Giannandrea chose a much more interesting medium for her little boy, Lorenzo…pizza!

Each month marker of Lorenzo’s life comes with one new slice. The now-viral post has gotten plenty of praise from fans at her Facebook page. And it looks like this genius idea is one just about everyone wants to copy. One commenter wrote, “Such a beautiful idea! The visual is lovely and loving at the same time.” Another wrote, “So much cooler than those milestone cards!” We completely agree!

Why did Giannandrea choose pizza? The photographer/mama told us, “When brainstorming with my mom, Lorenzo’s Grammy, she said that I really should do something Italian as an ode to his name. I had tossed around a few ideas but ultimately decided if we were going to do this right, we may as well also get dinner out of it each month.” She also added some baby pizza photo-taking expert advice, “If you are going to do pizza for your monthly photos, invest in a good pizza cutter because truly no pizza place slices their pizza into 12 slices. And, invest in family photography because soon enough all your kiddos will be bigger than a pizza box.”

Of course, setting up a year’s worth of pizza-filled photos takes some level of restraint. Along with the praise, some of the FB commenters pointed out that not eating all that pizza is a feat in and of itself!

Even though it wasn’t her birthday, Serena Williams’ daughter Olympia was recently the guest of honor at a party just for her—and we’re totally in awe of this adorable backyard bash.

Williams and her family are Jehovah’s Witnesses, and as such, don’t celebrate birthdays, which is why there were no social media ‘grams when Olympia turned a year old last September. Posting an Instagram Video of the cute carnival-themed event, Williams dished, “I wanted to just do something fun because we don’t do birthdays.” By the looks of the party from the tennis star’s Instagram Story, fun is an understatement for this epic backyard soiree.

Along with a working carousel, Olympia’s party also included face painting, train rides, lots of Disney songs and a station named “Olympia’s Candy Shop.” IG posts from dad Alexis Ohanian show the 17-month-old pointing to a duck with a full-on petting zoo in the backyard. The Boy Who Lived has some surprising thoughts on the future of the Harry Potter franchise. Daniel Radcliffe believes a Harry Potter reboot is almost certainly in our future.

With one reboot after another, it certainly wouldn’t be a stretch to think that one of the most successful book and film franchises of all time would be destined for more screen time. In a recent interview with IGN, however, Radcliffe revealed that he wouldn’t be surprised if we saw some sort of a reimagining, either on television or as new films, in the future.

photo: Tanya Pacht/Getty Images via Instagram

“I’m sure there will be some other version of it; I know I’m not the last Harry Potter I’m gonna see in my lifetime––we’ve already got a few more,” he pointed out, referring to Jamie Parker and Gareth Reeves who have played the famous role on stage in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

“It will be interesting to see how long those films stay… it feels like there’s a sacredness around them at the moment, but that’ll go, the shine will wear off at some point,” Radcliffe continues. “It’ll be interesting if they reboot them and just do the films again or do a series; I’m fascinated to watch.”

It’s hard to believe that anything new could be brought to an already perfect set of of films, but as the wise young wizard says, only time will tell.

Nothing warms you up for game day quite like chasing a one-year-old on the basketball court. NBA player and dad, Russell Westbrook took his son, Noah, to work and we’re pretty sure he wins MVP for cuteness.

The Oklahoma City Thunder point guard brought his pint-sized trainer to the court a little pre-game warm-up where they took turns assisting each other’s baskets, which in Noah’s case were provided by dad’s arms forming a circle to shoot the ball through.

Fans praised the adorable video, which the team posted on Twitter, pointing out that Westbrook is a great dad and role model. Being a dad clearly inspires Westbrook in his career, the point guard recently unveiled his new athletic shoe collab with Nike Jordan and was proud to announce that the shoe, which Noah modeled, comes in full family sizing, “so every athlete, no matter their age, has a shoe they feel proud to play in.”

One state is finally recognizing the fact that yes, dads actually change diapers, too, by establishing a new law that requires changing tables in men’s rooms.

The new law went into effect Jan. 1, making New York the first state in nation to mandate that all new and renovated buildings with public restrooms be equipped changing tables in both the women’s and the men’s rooms. New York City had previously passed the same law in 2017.

Photo: Mike Mozart via Flickr

When the legislation was first introduced last April, New York State Sen. Brad Hoylman explained, “It’s not just moms who change diapers. Dads need to step up and do their part of the dirty work, too. By including my bill for requiring baby changing stations in both male and female restrooms in the final budget, Governor Cuomo and the legislature are taking an important step in recognizing changing parental norms, including a new generation of gay dads like me who no longer should have to change their babies on the bathroom floor because there’s no changing station in the men’s restroom.”

In June 2018, one dad’s Facebook post went viral pointing the sexist double-standard of having changing tables exclusively in women’s restrooms.

This dad was hardly alone, as many dads across the country have taken to social media to express their frustration over the lack of changing tables in men’s rooms.

This kind of law is long overdue and here’s hoping more states will follow New York’s lead in advocating for all parents.

It may seem like just yesterday your fave Fixer Upper stars were ‘Gramming pregnancy and newborn pics. Well now a little over six months old, Joanna Gaines’ son Crew is talking. Yep, talking—and you’ll never guess his first word!

In a recent IG post Gaines wrote, “Crew is already six months old and saying ‘mama,'” playfully adding: “I had to throw that in there, sorry Chip.” So that’s mama one, dada zero—at least for now. It’s official: Crew is a mama’s boy—in the best way, of course.

Gaines’ IG caption wasn’t just a cute way of announcing her little guy’s first word. The poignant post also pointed to just how fast time goes by. “And just like that I have found myself mourning the past but now in future tense. You see what I just did there? The celeb designer and mama of five also added, “I’m challenging myself in this new year to live for now. The present. Taking in every breath, every sight, and sound and holding it dearly. Joanna Gaines Shares Her Secret to Getting Kids to Share Their Rooms

Beware! If you’re looking to get your hands on free athleisure wear in 2019, don’t fall for this Lululemon recruitment scam. A recent scam surfaced on Instagram, and if you’re all about this super-popular yoga/athleisure brand, you need to know about it.

Sometimes those way too good to be true ads on IG are just that. An IG account called lulurecruitment.us recently shared a post claiming that the Lululemon brand was looking for 150 ambassadors for 2019.

https://www.instagram.com/p/Brbf7JsBs8r/

According to the ad, the ambassadors would receive free Lululemon clothing, first access to new lines, gift cards and discounts. Sounds pretty perfect right? Hmm…maybe a bit too perfect. The ad also stated that the only requirements for consideration were having 150 IG followers, following the account (lulurecruitment.us) and reposting the original post on Instagram Stories.

When asked on Twitter if this ad was for real, a rep for the real Lululemon account responded, “We’re not associated with this account and have already looped in our brand protection team—they are on it! You’ll know an account is ours if it has a blue verified check mark.”

While the fake IG page did manage to get more than 350,000 followers over the course of their not-so-real promotion, the account is now no more. But it seems like others are still trying to scam social media followers. There are now several new accounts that have popped up on IG, all with the fake brand ambassador ad.

To repeat: these ads are NOT the real deal. As Lululemon pointed out on Twitter, its social media accounts are verified and thus have the check mark.
