We all love a luxury beauty product haul. Whether we stock up our whole cabinet with those goodies, or splurge on just our absolute faves, scoring the best of the best is always a win. The only problem? Having to either physically go to a store to snag luxury beauty products or wait for shipping after finding them online. Such a bummer, especially because we are out of dry shampoo right now!

When we were kids, a skincare routine meant slathering Noxema all over our faces and using sunscreen when we remembered. Thanks to the #GRWM (get ready with me) social trend, tweens these days are coveting advanced skincare lines like Drunk Elephant, Glow Recipe, and Laneige—brands they continuously see influencers use in reels and tutorials. While it’s great that Gen Z kids want to take care of their skin, they simply don’t need all the ingredients found in these adult products. Board-certified dermatologist Brooke Jeffy recently took to TikTok to rank her least favorite skincare products tweens and teens are buying and why.
This popular skincare product contains anti-aging ingredients. “Kids are pumping out the collagen. There’s no need to use this until your mid-20s and only potential for harm prior to that. This is different than when we use it for acne—when there is a potential benefit that outweighs the risk,” says Jeffy.
2. Vitamin C Serum
According to Jeffy, this product helps with collagen production and hyperpigmentation, neither of which tweens need to worry about. The truth is that people under 20 simply don’t need a Vitamin C serum yet.
3. Exfoliating Acids
This skincare product strips dead skin cells for a brighter appearance, and while adults can probably use assistance in this area, Jeffy says that “kids’ skin turns over without any help. This is completely unnecessary.” She notes the exception to this rule is when kids use a milder version for acne.
4. Toner
According to Jeffy, adults probably need the deep-cleaning ingredients found in toner, but the brands targeting kids may include a lot of allergens and offer no benefit. “Kids don’t need what the adult formulations offer,” she says.
5. Eye Cream
The reason why kids don’t need this might surprise you. The truth is, no one, not even adults, really needs a specific eye cream “unless it is adding something else beyond what your skincare products offer, like retinol for wrinkles or caffeine for a smoother appearance,” Jeffy says. So that’s a hard pass for the younger set who have zero need.
6. Peptides
The last product on Jeffy’s list is peptides. While peptides are not harmful, they’re also unnecessary. Why? “They’re used to produce collagen, which kids don’t need and is just a waste of money,” she says.
According to experts surveyed by The Strategist, the only skincare products tweens and teens need are a dermatologist-approved face wash like Cetaphil, CeraVe, or Clean & Clear (all affordable brands, BTW), a good moisturizer, and a light-weight sunscreen like Supergoop!. Three steps, that’s it. Anything more can harm or irritate young skin, which defeats the purpose of skincare in the first place. Plus, now you have an excuse to save all those Ulta Beauty reward points for yourself.

If you're nervous about being a Lyft or Uber driver because you don't want to pick up strangers and drive who-knows-where, how about letting someone else do the driving and just getting paid to supply them with the car? Sites like Turo or Hyrecar let you list your car or truck for other people to rent (it's like Airbnb for cars). You lay the ground rules for what you do and don't accept (no dogs, smoking, etc.), set a calendar for when your car is available, and wait for prospective renters to roll in (Note: HyreCar works specifically with rideshare and delivery drivers, while Turo works with tourists and those looking to test out specific car brands). It's a great option if you've got a second car that's just gathering dust in the garage.
Both Turo and Hyrecar's fees include insurance (you pick the level of protection)—and drivers also must have insurance (their own or a policy offered by the company), so you don't have to worry about your car getting damaged while someone else is driving it.
Note: If you've got a Jeep Wrangler or a Tesla, you've got the potential to make big bucks, as those are two of the most popular cars to rent from Turo!
What you can make: According to Turo, car owners can make an average of $706 per month, assuming their car is rented at least 12 days per month; meanwhile, Hyrecar claims you can make up to $1,200 a month to Uber, Lyft or delivery drivers (that's assuming your car is being rented for most of the month).
You don't have to sell the clothes off your back, but how about the clothes in your closet? If you've got cool outfits just collecting dust, now's the time to unload! Just send your unwanted threads to secondhand clothing companies like Poshmark, Crossroads, and Thredup, and they'll pick and choose what's good enough to sell (they can send back your clothes or donate the things they don't choose). The company gets a piece of your sale, but you won't have to do all the hard stuff like packaging and sending out goods to the customers.
What it pays: Varies, but more if you've got designer duds to sell—a Gucci handbag, for instance, will get you 90% of the listing price (about $286) on Thredup, whereas a pair of Old Navy jeans will only get you about 5% (that's about 55 cents in your pocket).
Are you good on the phone? Do you have the patience to engage with a not-so-cheerful caller? Companies use customer service agents for a variety of tasks, including answering customers' questions, making travel reservations, and providing tech support. All you need is a phone line and good internet access.
What it pays: $19/hour or about $39,000 a year, according to ZipRecruiter.
Where to apply: Browse customer service jobs on Indeed or Remote. Amazon also has remote customer service job openings—check them out here.
Want to get rid of your CD or DVD collection? Got an old cell phone or video game console you've long since abandoned? Time to unload!
For CDs, DVDs, and video games: Try sites like Decluttr or Eagle Saver, where you can sell your old DVDs and Blu-rays without having to worry about shipment costs or listing the items yourself.
For electronics: Decluttr buys cell phones, tablets, video game consoles, and textbooks (in addition to CDs and video games); and Amazon's trade-in program accepts things like cell phones, Kindle E-readers, tablets, video game equipment, and books. Amazon pays for the shipment costs and lists your item for you. You get paid in Amazon credit—or use your trade-in to upgrade to new Amazon devices.
What it pays: Varies, depending on what you're selling and how much you've got to sell. At Amazon, for instance, you'll be paid via an Amazon gift card equalling the appraised value of your device (plus you may get credit toward a new, upgraded device).
If you have a background in writing and editing, there's a huge demand for written content all over the web. Whether you want to write about your personal experiences or be assigned topics as needed by the publication, look for jobs at job sites like Indeed and Remote or on media-specific sites like Mediabistro.
What it pays: Varies by publication
Where to apply: Browse listings for "Writer" or "Freelance writer" on Flexjobs, Mediabistro, Indeed, and Remote, or look under the "Jobs" sections of your favorite websites.
Are you a fast typer? Use your skills for extra income! Sign up to be a transcriptionist at TranscribeMe!, which will pay you to transcribe audio clips. You can work as little as an hour or two—whenever you've got the time. It's monotonous work but an easy job.
You don't need to know another language to teach English, and most online ESL companies provide complete lesson plans that make your job easy. If you've ever used Amazon Prime Now, you know the wonder of needing a pack of diapers RIGHT NOW and receiving them on your doorstep in just minutes. The magic behind the on-demand service? Drivers who are willing to pick up your orders and get them to you pronto. It's good for the drivers, too, who can work when they want (turn on the app and start taking orders). As for pay, drivers get paid depending on which jobs they take, with more urgent items (those that need to be delivered in an hour or less) offering the highest pay. The only catch? You've got to live near an Amazon warehouse to get the gig. Find participating cities here.
If you've always wanted to write the Great American Novel (or maybe just a cute bedtime story). Amazon makes it easy to do it on your own. Just get writing, and then log onto Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing to upload your book. The site will convert your creation to an ebook and/or have it available as a printed book. You don't have to pay a cent! Every book is printed only when ordered (so there's no need to prepay for books). You'll be a published author before you know it. The KDP site offers free tools to help you write, illustrate, and organize your masterpiece.
What it pays: It depends on the price and size of your book and whether it's in color or black and white—but according to the site's royalty calculator, a 200-page 6X9 book without color will get you $2.75 per copy sold if you set the book price at $10 (which is, by the way, way better than the 10% royalty most mainstream publishers offer new authors).
Do you have a law degree? Are you a nurse or a doctor? Whether your know-how is in medicine, law, cars, or home improvement, cash in on your knowledge by answering questions for Justanswer.com. Anyone can apply to be an expert; you make money if your answer is voted the most helpful.
What it pays: Anywhere from $20 to $100 an hour (but that’s, of course, only if you’re giving the “best” answers… and lots of them).
Did you know you can burn 200 calories an hour just walking man's best friend? Go! Cancel your gym membership, and spend your mornings palling around with pooches. Pssst: Want more than just a 20-minute Fido fix? Get yourself listed on Rover, and turn your home into a crash pad for pups (and maybe cats, too). You get paid by the day or hour, depending on the setup.
What it pays: Up to $25 an hour (or about $60 per day for pet-sitting)
If you're one of those stylish mamas who hasn't ditched the high heels and still carries a brand-name purse instead of a dirty diaper bag—Stitch Fix might be the perfect work-from-home job for you. Stitch Fix is a clothing delivery company that sends you personalized wardrobe choices based on your preferences, lifestyle, and price point (you fill out a questionnaire to determine these bits).
Behind this service, of course, is a team of work-from-home stylists who pull together the outfits, client by client. Stylists get a rundown of the customer, then scramble to find something fabulous. Stylists must commit to working 15 to 30 hours per week and be available for a remote training session.
What it pays: About $16 per hour according to Glassdoor.
Channel your inner artist and sell your goods online at sites like Etsy and Amazon Homemade. Both sites take a commission, with Etsy taking a 6.5% commission as well as a 20-cent listing fee, and Amazon taking a 15% cut and a $1 referral fee (this covers payment processing, marketing, seller support, and fraud protection).
What it pays: It depends on what you're making and how much of it you sell.
You have nothing to be embarrassed about, but these personal care products really work
No spoilers, but in the words of America Ferrera’s character in Barbie, it’s hard being a woman. Just basic human ‘problems’ have us feeling self-conscious, even though each and every one of us deals with it all, too. So we’re putting ’embarrassing problems’ in quotation marks because, well, not all of them are problems and there’s nothing to be embarrassed about. You’re just a human being who may want to wax your nose hair. Or who gets severe gas pain. Or who loves garlic (and has the breath that comes with it. Again. Something everyone deals with.).
We didn’t pull any punches with this list—we get down and dirty and honest here. Not only do we want to share personal care products that work really well, we also want to remind you that you’re absolutely not ‘the only one’. And, for the record, none of these products should make you feel like anything is wrong with you. Pimples are normal. Snoring is common. We all sweat. They’re called personal care products for a reason, right? Read on to check out our top picks for the non-embarrassing ’embarrassing problems’ everyone has experienced.
Wearable Anti-Snoring Device
ROOHO
Snoring isn't anyone's fault, but when you're waking up multiple times a night either by your own snoring or your partner's (<eye twitch>), it sure feels like someone's to blame. This rechargeable device is worn in your nose (complete with a detachable cover that's easy to clean) and Amazon reviewers are giving it a 4.8 star rating. Imagine not waking up filled with rage for less than $60.
How about this heat, huh? We know. It's unbearable. But even when it's not sweltering outside, chafing around our most sensitive skin happens. This deodorant-style stick lets you glide on the protective balm anywhere you need it—thighs, bra line, and anywhere your skin is easily raw and irritated.
Speaking of sweat, it happens to everyone. The moment you catch yourself in the mirror and realize your shirt has dark spots thanks to heat, stress, or toddler-chasing. Although everyone sweats, it's also annoying when your clothes get damaged or stained. These sweat pads stick directly onto your clothes to help absorb extra perspiration.
The thing with a lot of feminine products is that they disrupt your whole body balance. The Happy Biome Cleansing Wipes from Cora keep everything that's supposed to be there alone and are packed with postbiotics that keep your biome hydrated and happy. They're especially great for post-gym, mornings when you can't get a shower (we know it happens), and on-the-go.
Any woman dealing with thinning hair (raises hand), whether it's from postpartum hormones, illness, genetics, overstyling, etc., knows what an impact it can have on your confidence. Vegamour gets our vote for combating thinning hair. Cleanse & condition while reducing signs of shedding & support thicker, fuller-looking hair in as soon as 90 days. You can expect up to 52% more density and 75% less shedding.
We all know you don't just sweat under your arms, and Lume gets that, too. You can apply it to almost any part of your body that you feel needs some extra freshening up, and it's aluminum and baking soda-free, too. It's available in multiple scents.
We've all done it. No shame. But if you've picked at your skin, there's a good chance it actually looks worse than it did before you messed with it (which doesn't stop us from doing it, to be honest). We totally get it. Post Pop Potion helps soothe redness and irritation, plus speeds up healing time.
There's nothing quite like spending the afternoon walking around with what you spilled on yourself at lunch down your shirt for all to see. When changing clothes isn't an option, these handy wipes are a lifesaver. They're also great for sending in lunchboxes with older kiddos.
Pets, cooking, and kids all lead to some less-than pleasant smells in your home, even if you regularly clean. Forget room sprays and artificial-smelling plug-ins. Pura fragrance diffusers are changing everything you know about home scents. Their diffusers connect to the Pura app, allowing you to totally customize everything from scent strength, schedule, device light color, and stay on top of scent replacement. Add a massive selection of fragrances from Anthropologie, Disney, Kenneth Cole, and more, and you'll wonder why you ever messed with any other product.
Absolutely all jokes aside, gas pain is serious pain. It can be almost unbearable, but Gas-X is a tried-and-true remedy* that works fast. Don't leave home without it. No, for real. Don't.

Tired of waking up sweating, sticky, and overheated? Freezing all night? Toss and turn alternating between hot and cold? Whether it's the height of summer or not, experts agree that people generally sleep better when their body is cooler. If your PJs are making you all-around uncomfortable, Dagmejan's ultra-silky sleepwear is all lightweight and breathable and is so comfortable, you'll want to wear these pieces all the time. Their Stay Warm Collection, Stay Cool Collection, Balance Collection, and even their Recovery Collection to optimize muscle recovery make sure there's something for absolutely everyone. Sometimes your regular body wash just isn't enough to make you feel fresh (we get it). This cooling soap is excellent for keeping underarms, bra lines, and skin creases feeling clean and refreshed—all. day. long. Since it includes tea tree oil and peppermint, make sure to test a small area of your skin before using it everywhere. It's also cooling, so we suggest keeping it away from sensitive areas. If you've never struggled with dandruff, you're definitely one of the lucky ones (though we're not mad at you). Not only can it make you self-conscious and wary of wearing dark colors, dandruff can also be incredibly uncomfortable, itchy, and downright painful. There are over 83k people who have been through it all, too, who rate Nizoral Dandruff Shampoo with 4.6 stars. Even some folks who feel like they've tried everything swear by this one. Nizoral Dandruff Shampoo ($15.88)—Buy Here!
