Kelly Clarkson isn’t the only celeb mama to land herself a talk show. Drew Barrymore recently revealed that she’s tackling the job of daytime host, too!

Barrymore reportedly filmed a pilot for the show, which will air on CBS Television stations nationally fall of 2020, last August. Judging by this new deal, it looks like the pilot went over well with the TV execs involved.

The actress told Variety, “It is beyond my wildest dreams to have this opportunity for a daily talk show.” Barrymore also added, “I’m truly thrilled and honored to be creating this show with CBS.”

The soon-to-be daytime host isn’t the only one who’s excited about this new venture. Steve LoCascio, chief operating and financial officer of CBS Global Distribution Group said of Barrymore, “Drew is a huge star and a breath of fresh air—her show will energize any station’s lineup.” Peter Dunn, president of CBS Television Stations tells us that “We are very excited to be in business with Drew Barrymore and have our stations serve as the launch group for a show that is the brightest prospect I have seen in many years.”

While the network did announce a fall 2020 launch, as of now there’s no specific debut date for Barrymore’s daytime show.

This Is What Happened When MSNBC’s Courtney Kube’s Son Interrupted a Live Broadcast

It’s summer, the sun is shining and now science is giving you a reason to get out and experience everything Mother Nature has to offer—as long as you spend at least 120 minutes outdoors!

Recent research from the University of Exeter may have found a connection between time spent in nature and well being. According to the study, which was published in the journal Scientific Reports, people who spend at least 120 minutes in natural settings had higher reports of physical and psychological health than those who didn’t venture into green spaces.

Using data from almost 20,000 adults in England, the researchers found that the benefits of hanging in nature extend to just about everyone—regardless of gender, age, ethnicity and financial status.

According to lead researcher Dr. Mat White, of the University of Exeter Medical School, “It’s well known that getting outdoors in nature can be good for people’s health and well being but until now we’ve not been able to say how much is enough. The majority of nature visits in this research took place within just two miles of home so even visiting local urban green spaces seems to be a good thing.” White also added, “Two hours a week is hopefully a realistic target for many people, especially given that it can be spread over an entire week to get the benefit.”

Based on the research, the 120 minute mark is a threshold you just can’t dip below. That is, if you want to get the health benefits nature reportedly brings. Don’t stress if you just can’t devote two-hour blocks of time to going on forest-filled hikes or jogging through the local park. The 120 minutes necessary to get health benefits can happen in chunks of time over the course of week.

Jay-Z is part of a sweet business deal! The recently named billionaire is much more than a rapper (or Beyonce’s husband), he’s also an investor. And one of his ventures is a mom-based cookie company called Partake Foods.

When Denise Woodard’s daughter was diagnosed with food allergies the mama did something about it. Instead of scouring the grocery store aisles for sweet treats her kiddo could eat, she created her own company.

Partake Foods, Woodard’s company, bakes allergen-free cookies. The entrepreneur/mama left her job as director of national sales at Coca-Cola to sell her creative cookies out of her car. Of course, Woodard’s story doesn’t end there. After a successful Kickstarter campaign the company gained national attention, putting Woodard’s treats in the hands of the children across the country,.

Even though Woodard’s cookie venture has had plenty of success, we’re pretty sure that with Jay-Z’s help the popularity of these allergen-free sweets will only increase!

Along with the entire library of HGTV’s Fixer Upper series, the Gaines’ new network will feature plenty of home, garden, food, wellness and design programming. Also look for shows the center on community and entrepreneurialism (because obviously the pair have that down to a science).

In a statement to PEOPLE, Magnolia spokesperson John Marsicano said, “We’re thrilled to officially announce a media joint venture with Discovery.” Marsicano also added, “Our goal for this multi-platform media company is to deliver a unique, inspiring and family-friendly content experience rooted in honesty and authenticity—the kind of programming that helps bring people together. The Gaines’ will helm the new media venture, which includes content on the television channel itself and the TV Everywhere app, as Chief Creative Officers with current HGTV President Allison Page as president.

The late show host and now-third-time author is back at it again. Jimmy Fallon’s newest children’s book, This Is Baby, is due next October!

Picture book-loving parents (or at least those who have kiddos who can’t stop reading) may already know Fallon’s first two books well. His 2015 book Your Baby’s First Word Will Be Dada and his follow-up Everything Is Mama featured Fallon’s trademark humor, delighting tots and their parents too.

His newest venture into the kid lit arena takes on the human body and the basic vocab needed to talk about it. In a statement to PEOPLE,  the author/host/father poked fun at his newest book theme saying, “I was gonna write a book called There’s Nothing Worse Than Installing a Car Seat, but this was a much cuter topic.”

This Is Baby is perfect for the littlest of littles, helping them to learn about the body through easy-to-understand text and artwork (by Miguel Ordóñez). The picture book, published by Feiwel & Friends, is set to debut on Oct. 8, 2019.

I have banned New Year resolutions in my home, at least for myself. I’m sure that sounds odd; After all, the new year is when you’re meant to make all these grand resolutions about changing our lives, but really, how many of us actually keep them?

Personally, I realized I rarely stick to my resolutions beyond the third week and it wasn’t because my goals weren’t worthwhile. So this year, I decided to change my approach to see if I could carry my goals further. Instead of resolutions, I opted to define what my priorities are in my daily life and long-term, especially as a parent.

This year, I want to connect more with my family, to be more present and involved in my kids’ lives and to be a better father and husband. After deep reflection, here’s how I plan to commit to my priorities this year.

Spend more time with my kids.

I’ve noticed that I have a tendency to get lost in work or the business of providing in general and have long stretches where I don’t spend much quality time with my kids aside from family dinner.

That changes this year as I plan to spend as much time with my kids as possible. This focused priority means taking them out on father-child dates, participating more in their hobbies and cutting down on how often I say “Just a minute, I have to wrap this project up.”

Have more conversations with my children.

I want to have those in-depth conversations and lively debates that will improve our communication and give me more insight into who they really are. I am hoping that whether we end up chatting about their favorite superheroes, the state of the country or their hobbies, we’ll come to appreciate each other’s different viewpoints and I can increase my family’s connection to each other.

Be smarter about my kids’ screen time.

I’ve graciously accepted that screens and gadgets are a part of my children’s lives. While I can’t get rid of them, nor would I want to completely, I can help my kids make smart choices when it comes to apps, games and TV shows.

I have decided to devote more time to researching age-appropriate educational yet fun apps and TV shows that my kids and I can enjoy together.

Take better care of myself.

Any parent will agree that it’s hard to carve time out for yourself when kids are always underfoot. But I can’t be a good partner and parent if I don’t take time out for myself once in a while. Going out with friends, exercising more or just waking up half an hour earlier to meditate and center myself will all help me be a better father.

Be more loving towards my wife.

Whenever we venture outside, my wife and I do our best to model polite, appreciative behavior by being courteous to others. However, if I want my kids to grow up happy and emotionally healthy, it’s equally important that they see me being loving, affectionate and caring towards their mom.

Build up my kids every day.

With social media use on the rise, my kids are under pressure to measure up to all kinds of standards. So I’ll use our time together to build them up. I’ll be their cheerleader and sidekick and I’ll continually affirm how wonderful they truly are.

My family means everything to me and this year and I’m hoping my parenting priorities will bring us even closer together.

Summer is a great time to get out and about to explore the yummy parts of our great city. The mushrooming dining scene in Chicago constantly keeps us on our toes — new and fantastic eateries seem to pop up daily. In fact, according to the City of Chicago, there are more than 7,300 restaurants! Why not take to the streets, with kiddos in tow, and have a dessert fete? Go on a sugary adventure and indulge in the best that Chicago has to offer—here are a few to get you started.

Truco

If you happen to venture to north Chicagoland, stop in at Truco Taqueria & Margarita Bar, captained by Chef Juan Luis. This Mexican street food restaurant has recently rolled out a new menu with loads of specials, which is perfect for larger families. There is a fantastic outdoor patio, ideal for people watching, and the restaurant is located right next to an AMC Theatre — you can take the kids out for dessert and a show. Kids can sip a Mexican Coca-Cola, horchata or jarritos, while mom and dad enjoy a fresh mojito or sangria. Your little taste buds will like the churros, donitas rellenas and choco-flan . . . and so will you!

Don’t let a little snow and below freezing temperatures keep you inside all winter long. Fresh air and a change of scenery will work wonders when you’re feeling secluded as a sleep-deprived new parent, so don’t miss a single sunny (or light gray) afternoon. Bundle your little Eskimo in our favorite winter gear and venture into the elements with these cold weather essentials that promise to keep your little one cozy.

Convertible Comfort

This super-warm bunting meets snowsuit, or as &AM Enfant calls it, a Doudoune, is one of the most versatile pieces of winter baby gear we could find. Side zippers make getting baby in and out of the bunting easy. But if you want to use it in a carrier, car seat or as a snow suit, you fasten the double row of snaps in the middle to free up your babies legs.
