Get ready for a whole new type of curbside shopping experience: Amazon has launched curbside grocery pickup at Whole Foods via its Prime Now app—and this service might just be a game-changer when it comes to convenience.
Before you run to your laptop to start ordering up groceries…wait. Unless you live in Sacramento, California or Virginia Beach, Virginia you’ll have to wait for this service. While Amazon has announced the roll-out of Whole Foods curbside pickup in these two cities, they’ve yet to spill the deets on when and where it will launch next. As of now, the only word from Amazon is that the curbside pickup will come to “more cities” sometime in 2018.

So how does this service work? Just place your order through the Prime Now app and choose the pickup option. Orders over $35 qualify for free one-hour pickup between the hours of 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. If you’re crunched on time, you can pay $4.99 for pickup within a half hour.
In a press release, Stephanie Landry, Worldwide Vice President of Prime Now, AmazonFresh and Amazon Restaurants said, “Pickup from Whole Foods Market is a perfect option for customers who want to grab healthy and organic groceries at their convenience, all without leaving their car.”
Landry also added, “For an even faster experience, customers can tell us they are on their way using the Prime Now app and groceries will be ready as they arrive.” Now that’s some speedy service!
