Swork Delivers Kid Friendly Coffee

Swanky, trendy, tasty and kid-friendly. Swork in Eagle Rock is our kind of place. It’s nice to be able to treat your senses while letting the kids play. Sworkland is the cheerful, well-stocked play area in this Pasadena-area coffee shop.

In our world, a properly caffeinated mom is a happy mom, and a happy mom makes things better for all involved. This quaint little coffee shop, wired with free WiFi, has what mom needs and what the kids want; a moment of peace, delicious snacks and a designated children’s play area. The coffee menu is extensive. Selections range from espresso and lattes to hot chocolate, to the spicy Mexican Mayan Sworkuccinos, Smoothies, Milk Shakes and Kid drinks. Pastries go beyond the usual bagel or scone – try one of their banana walnut muffins!

It’s not a large space so it does get crowded but overall it works, kids at the back, parents in the middle and kid-free patrons up front. You and your friends can get caught up while your kids have a playdate. It’s a great place to meet new friends and possible playmates.

One recent review on Yelp! summed up the Swork experience as something akin to a marriage of Starbucks and IKEA. While the kids are amused by the books and puzzles, enjoy your drink and take in the atmosphere. You can feel good knowing that the owner, Tricia Neal, created Swork from the ground up. She has instilled her love of the community and extensive in the field research (Guatemala) to not just buy the right beans but to really understand what it takes to get coffee from the field to your cup.
