The off-duty firefighter was actually involved in the accident herself, but stepped in to help a woman in need

Megan Warfield is both a career firefighter with Baltimore County and a Bowleys Quarters Volunteer Fire Rescue & Marine (BQVFRM) member, so she knows how to handle an emergency. But even the 30-year-old, who was nine months pregnant at the time, didn’t see herself being at the center of a vehicle collision.

Warfield, who had been serving in an administrative capacity as she progressed through her pregnancy, was involved in an accident as a passenger one afternoon. On a recent appearance on TODAY, she recounted the situation.

“I started to climb in there with her, but then I was like, ‘What are you doing? You’re nine months pregnant,’” Warfield she says. “I ended up holding onto her to keep her in place because I wasn’t sure of her injuries at the time.

Warfield stayed by the woman’s side until Squad 213 could arrive to help extricate her from the vehicle, according to the BQVFRM Facebook page. Once the paramedics arrived (one of which was Warfield’s paramedic boyfriend), the firefighter finally decided to head to Johns Hopkins Hospital to get checked out.

According to TODAY, the accident ended up inducing labor and turned Warfield’s baby transverse. “I don’t know how I did what I did because the cramping was so bad,” Warfield said. “I must’ve just been running on adrenaline.”

From there, it was less than 24 hours until Megan welcomed her baby girl, Charlotte. Born on Oct. 4, she joins big siblings Ellie and Jameson.

Bowleys Quarters Volunteer Fire Rescue & Marine took to Facebook to honor Warfield’s brave actions and said it best: “Since no good deed should go unrecognized, we wanted to highlight Megan’s heroic and selfess actions. Congratulations Momma Megan, Job Well Done”

The Flight Attendant actress shared the pregnancy news on Instagram

Kaley Cuoco is going to be a mom! The 36-year-old has announced she and boyfriend Tom Pelphrey are expecting their first child together.

“💕Baby girl Pelphrey coming 2023💕 beyond blessed and over the moon… I 💓you @tommypelphrey !!!” reads the Instagram post. The former Big Bang Theory actress also gave away more than just a glimpse into the couple’s excitement, but revealed a baby girl will be joining their family.

The actress shared photos showing a cake with pink frosting, Pelphrey holding a baby onesie, the two kissing holding “papa bear” and “mama bear” mugs, a polaroid of Cuoco’s baby bump, and a slew of images showing positive pregnancy tests. It’s easy to say the duo both look elated.

Tom Pelphrey, of Ozark fame, also shared the happy news on his own Instagram account. “And then it was even MORE BETTER. 🎀🎀🎀. Love you more than ever @kaleycuoco ♥️🙏♥️”

Cuoco and Pelphrey first met at the Ozark premiere back in April. The became official in May and since then haven’t shied from sharing their love for each other on social media.

Now that the cat’s out of the bag (or rather, we know there’s a bun in the oven?), Cuoco is emptying her photo drafts like crazy to her Instagram Stories. Apparently, the mama-to-be experienced a fair amount of morning sickness and exhaustion, judging by the snap shots of her sneaking in naps in between film takes for her upcoming action film, Role Play.

Neither Cuoco or Pelphrey have revealed the big day––aka, due date––for when baby is expected. However, judging by the many posts since the announcement just yesterday, we’re guessing we’ll get to go along for the ride for months to come.

Animal lovers are a special breed: They love fiercely and would do anything to protect their fur babies. So when a photo of a dog tied to a fire hydrant with all of her earthly possessions next to her went viral, it raised some eyebrows—and some ire.

According to the Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS), Baby Girl, a mixed breed canine, was found at the corner of East Walnut Street and South Clay Street in Green Bay this past week. Along with a backpack, there was also a note from the six-year-old pup’s owner that explained why they could no longer care for her.

KTLA reports that a local resident noticed the dog at the hydrant and sat with her for an hour, waiting for the owner to return. When no one did, WHS came and safely took Baby Girl to the shelter.

Almost immediately, pet owners chimed in on how horrible it was to just abandon a pet, but the WHS released an update that shows another side to the story. In a Facebook post, the organization reveals that the owner was likely heartbroken at the notion of surrendering their precious pooch, but that medical conditions forced their hand.

“First and foremost, we are so sorry you had to part with your best friend. It’s evident just how much you loved her and we can see you did your best while struggling with your own medical complications and challenges of life.”

The message absolutely has us regretting the negative thoughts we were harnessing about leaving such a sweet pet on the side of the road. The fact is, we don’t know how much grief the owner went through when it came to making this decision. The WHS goes on to say, “[W]e see your love in the note you left, pleading for someone to help her when you no longer could. While we’ll never let fees be a barrier and we welcome anonymous surrenders, we see that you did what you thought was best for your beloved pup and we are grateful for your compassion. Rest assured that she’s safe, she’s getting tons of attention from our team, and she’s on track to find her next loving family very soon.”

While Baby Girl waited to find her next forever home, she was serving a mandatory stray hold until she was ready to be adopted. The good news? She was adopted on her first day available!

The little girl hilariously resembles famous actor Woody Harrelson

A mom in Northern Ireland tweeted an adorable picture of her nine-month-old daughter along with her celebrity doppelganger—and True Detective star—Woody Harrelson. Harrelson saw the now-viral photo and responded to the comparison in the sweetest way.

Mom Dani Grier Mulvenna posted the snap of daughter Cora next to a photo of Harrelson, both with open mouths and toothy smiles. “Ok but how does our daughter look like Woody [Harrelson],” Mulvenna wrote. To her delight, the Zombieland actor wrote back with a poem called “Ode to Cora.”

The 61-year-old posted her tweet on his social media, writing: “You’re an adorable child / Flattered to be compared / You have a wonderful smile / I just wish I had your hair @danigriermulvenna.”

In a comment on The Hunger Games actor’s Instagram post, Mulvenna wrote, “You’ve made our day can’t wait to show her this when she’s older, you have another fan for life xxx.” She also shared his poem on her Twitter feed. “It’s not every day Woody [Harrelson] writes your daughter a poem,” she wrote, adding a happy-tears emoji.

Harrelson rose to fame after his character, Woody Boyd, appeared on the beloved sitcom Cheers and has gone on to star in a slew of films. But his family, he says, is the most important thing in his life. He married his second wife, Laura Louie, in 2008. The couple has three daughters together—Deni, Zoe, and Makani—who they’ve raised mostly out of the Hollywood spotlight in Maui, Hawaii.

After Mulvenna’s original tweet went viral, she shared another pic of the sweet baby girl looking more like herself and less like the actor. “Cora says, thank you all so much for the likes and retweets and also that she doesn’t always look like Woody [Harrelson], it’s just that when she does… she really really does xxx,” Mulvenna said.

As my kids grow into adulthood, I’m learning how to love them differently.

Don’t get me wrong, I love them equally and fiercely—sometimes with an intensity that frightens me. But as they move from teenager to adulthood and I get glimpses of the young adults they’re becoming, I realize that they see and hear love in very different ways.

Take my eldest daughter, Skylar, for instance. She’s bright, cheery, and lights up a room when she walks into it. She’s also warm, affectionate, and very free with her hugs. We can converse for hours and simply telling her I love her is enough to start the waterworks.

Her sister, Elise, couldn’t be more different if she tried. She’s strong-spirited, independent, and determined. She hates asking for help, and parenting her has been a tricky, intense experience especially since she has struggled with depression in the past. Seeing my baby girl going through depression for most of her adolescence broke my heart. It wasn’t until she was on her way to recovery, and I learned how to show her love differently, that we started connecting.

Then there’s my son, Ryan. Like most teen boys, he would rather eat dirt than be seen hugging his mom. He’s uncomfortable with overt shows of affection and prefers a pat on the back or a fist bump to a hug from his father or me.

Raising kids with such varying personalities means that I needed to find new ways to show and give them love, even when it’s not always reciprocated:

I show them that I love them by being present.

Both Elise and Ryan play sports, and I dutifully show up to all their games. Most times they don’t acknowledge my presence because it’s just “not cool,” but I love being there, and it matters to me that they know they have my support. So I show up, cheer them on, listen when they talk or vent, and do my best to give them my time and attention.

I’ve learned to speak love in other languages.

Sometimes the best way to express love is with actions. I leave notes or send my kids texts, letting them know how proud I am of them. I make sure we’re fully stocked with the protein bars my son wolfs down after practice and ensure Elise’s shampoo never runs out. These small acts of service might not seem like much, but they’re my way of showing my kids how much I care.

I’m learning that love exists in small moments.

Mindful parenting has taught me that there are dozens of small, wonderful moments that I should be grateful for every day. I’ve learned to be thankful for all the awesome things my teens bring into my life. The moments Elise strikes up a conversation or when Skylar makes dinner or when Ryan, ever the comedian, has us in stitches.

For me, these are the moments that make parenting worth it.

I still say, “I love you.”

I still say these words even when they’re not acknowledged or returned by my children because no matter what, they’re still true, and it is important to me that my children can look back and know I actively expressed that I loved them.

Loving children is easy: It’s showing them love in a way that they can understand and appreciate that’s the hard part. I’m still learning, changing, and adapting as I go, but as of right now, I am happy knowing that I am always trying to let my loved ones know that I genuinely care.

It’s a girl! Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have welcomed their second child together.

“Joe and Sophie are happy to announce the arrival of their baby girl,” representatives for the couple told People in a statement.

The Game of Thrones alum confirmed that she and Jonas were expecting again in a May interview with Elle UK. “It’s what life is about for me — raising the next generation,” she said. “The greatest thing in life is seeing my daughter go from strength to strength. We’re so excited to be expanding the family. It’s the best blessing ever.”

Turner admitted during the interview their two-year-old daughter Willa wasn’t totally understanding what was about to happen.

“I’ll point to my stomach and say, ‘What’s in there?’ And she’ll go, ‘baby.’ But then she points to her own stomach and says, ‘baby,’ and then she’ll point to her dad’s tummy and say, ‘baby.’ So, I think she just thinks that a belly is a baby and that’s the name for it,” Turner said. “But she is a lot clingier than normal, so I think she has an idea.”

The couple were married in 2019. Turner told Porter Edit at the time. “I think at some point I would have had to stop saying ‘fiancé,’ but … marriage is a private thing between two people and I think that’s how it should always be. It’s not about the dress, it’s not about the food. It’s about being husband and wife, and being dedicated to each other forever.”

While the pair don’t take publicly about their expanding family, Turner did write a note on Instagram on her first Mother’s Day. “I’m so grateful to the two loves of my life for making me a mama,” Turner wrote in March 2021. “@joejonas and my beautiful baby girl. It’s my favorite job I’ve ever had.”

“It’s been amazing,” Jonas said of parenthood during an appearance on CBS This Morning in May. He also joked that “naps are nice — all around,” and called daughter Willa, “gorgeous.”

While we may not see many snaps of the new addition, we’re pretty sure she’s as gorgeous as her parents.

Christina Ricci recently received a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her fabulous performance in Yellowjackets, but her priority was firmly where it should be as a new mom—getting more sleep.

“My baby was teething really badly all last night.” Ricci told ET Canada. “So I didn’t actually get to sleep really until five in the morning. So I overslept and my husband tried to wake me up at 8:40 to let me know I’d been nominated, but I chose to keep sleeping and then woke up later to like crazy amounts of texts and calls.”

Ricci plays plane crash survivor Misty in the fan-favorite series on Showtime. Co-star Melanie Lynskey was also nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actress category, and the show received a total of seven nominations.

Ricci joked that it’d been some time since she was nominated, so she didn’t realize she was supposed to be publicly reacting to the news instead of catching up on much-needed sleep. “I didn’t realize that, you know, back in 1901 when I was nominated last, we didn’t do these phone call interviews after the nominations, you were just sort of surprised. So I didn’t realize that I had to do this.” Ricci was last nominated for Drama Guest Actress on Grey’s Anatomy in 2006.

The Yellowjackets star first announced her pregnancy with then-fiancé Mark Hampton in August 2021, and the duo eloped two months later. In December, they welcomed a baby girl, Cleo.

Ricci said it was the show’s originality that attracted her to the role.

“‘Yellowjackets’ is a kind of new feeling, very different original show,” she said. “That takes a lot of bravery and conviction. We took a chance choosing to play her the way that we did or create that character the way that we did. It’s so wonderful to have this sort of validation and acknowledgment that we made the right choices. Myself and the creators of the show.”

The new mom also said she has “absolutely no objectivity” when it comes to projects she works on, and she “had no idea that it would explode in the way that it has.” She also told Deadline she loves the “incredibly varied examples of women” the show presents and “the honest portrayal of these characters,” who “never pander” and “never sort of wink at the audience, begging for affection.”

Her idea to catch some more sleep in lieu of getting well-deserved attention for her nomination was peak mom, and we’re here for it.

Fans are used to seeing Bravo’s Andy Cohen looking suave and suited up on-air. But off-air, Cohen is a dad of two, and just like the rest of us, he gets frazzled when the kids start melting down. Cohen shared an all-too-relatable video of a drive with his family that went sour recently when both kiddos started crying in the backseat.

“Summer is supposed to be fun,” Cohen captioned the video. He doesn’t say a word, and he doesn’t need to, because we know exactly what he’s dealing with. We’ve all been there, and it is absolutely the worst. He grimaces while looking down at the camera, shakes his head, and generally looks like he’s about two seconds away from threatening to turn the car around and go home. It sounds like Cohen has at least one adult helper along for the ride, but what it looks like is that he really wants a pair of earplugs.

Summer is the season of road trips, and for many of us, they’re going to end up looking a lot like this. It starts out great, but no matter how many snacks and games and downloaded shows and movies you prep for the car ride, sometimes kids are just not interested in cooperating. It’s the price we pay for making those magical summer memories, though, and I’m confident Cohen would agree, as miserable as this particular car ride was.

Though Cohen kept it real with this clip, he’s been nothing but a doting dad on Instagram. He’s shared lots of adorable snaps since newborn baby girl Lucy joined the family, including with adoring big brother Benjamin, 3.

While a car ride with two crying kids isn’t exactly a banner moment for any dad, Cohen has been gushing about how amazing fatherhood is in recent interviews. Of becoming a father of two, the Bravo host told Forbes: “It’s exhausting, but it’s good. It’s really nice. It’s going to be great.” That optimistic attitude is definitely going to be crucial for Cohen, in dad life and especially on family road trips.

Actress and mom Shay Mitchell and longtime partner Matte Babel welcomed a new baby, daughter Rome, named after Mitchell’s “person,” her grandma.

The Dollface actress posted a moving tribute to her late grandma on Instagram, introducing her new daughter to the world. “Losing the most important person in my life in the same year I welcomed my second daughter has shifted everything for me, but one thing remains steady in my soul—I’m certain they spent time together and that brings me peace and joy,” she wrote. “We’re so happy you’re here Rome, named after my best friend, my soulmate, my ‘person,’ my Grandma Romaine.”

She shared the news of her pregnancy earlier this year, talking about the loss and how her pregnancy was a gift while she dealt with her grandma’s death. “I can’t help but think this was the universe’s plan all along, knowing I would need other worldly joy to cushion the blow of losing one of the most important people in my life,” she shared. “Yet, this is proof that love, life, and loss can profoundly exist all at the same time. Gram, I miss you every day. Little one, we are so excited to meet you. I breathe a sigh of peace knowing you two are already connected in such a cosmic way.”

Speaking with PEOPLE, Mitchell said of her pregnancy, “I feel awesome. I feel really, really good. It definitely takes a village. I’m really lucky my parents are in town and everybody’s been really helpful.”

She and Babel also share daughter, Atlas, two. She boasted about her partner recently to E! News, saying in part, “I think when you find someone who has the same morals as you, it makes parenting a lot easier. It’s definitely a partnership.”

Mitchell definitely has her hands full with two little ones, but for now, her favorite part of motherhood and greatest joy is to watch her girls bond. “It’s watching Atlas be a big sister. It’s the coolest thing,” she said.
